Lovely child's park on site. The staff clearly kept the facilities as clean as possible. Fantastic facilities and a perfect location, right next to some lovely walks, and pubs on the doorstep.

Booked a grass pitch by mistake but it was graciously swapped for hardstanding. Stayed at Barn Farm a few times now and will definitely be back, lovely site and staff.

Facilities could do with an early morning clean up after all the DofE kids have been in.

Was recommended this site as a great family option. Took my daughter camping for the first time here and she absolutely loved it! The family field has a play area, which makes it ideal for kids to run around whilst parents can relax but still watch them. There's also loads of wildlife and my daughter enjoyed spotting the peacocks the most! There were plenty of facilities and generally they were clean, unless you happen to go in after the Duke of Edinburgh groups. They weren't awful but hence why I have a 4 star for cleanliness. There are adult only facilities however, which I didn't use which I presume may've been better. The bigger sized shower rooms certainly were. There's also plenty of dog hooks if you need to tie up your dogs. Reception were really welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond to help me. There was a small shop, which had the basics and some spare camping items if you need anything. There was an ice cream van that came round on the late afternoons and they provide details of takeaways that deliver if you don't fancy cooking. There's two local pubs, we visited the Druids Inn that did great food. It does get busy though so if you can book beforehand, try to.

Beautiful site. Lovely facilities. Hard standing pitches could be made more level. Considering the number of DofE people on site they do a fantastic job of keeping it clean.

We have been coming here for the last 3 years as the "Sumer Hillside Meet" in our camper vans. 21 vans this year. The staff are welcoming and the facilities are always clean and well provisioned at all times. There is a small shop onsite that is very well stocked with everything you may need (or forgotten to pack) The staff are very informative and helpful. Two pubs a short walk away with the Druids being our choice for food except on a Sunday when the Red Lion does an amazing lunch. The Duke of Edinburgh use the big fields but you wont notice them, early to bed - early to rise and they clean up after themselves. Paying guests have their own facilities so no waiting for the students to leave. Plenty of easy walking in the area, the circular walk to the Nine Ladies is our favourite, passing two pubs on the return.
Lovely!

An idyllic location, really well kept fields, lovely clean facilities. Just a note for anyone considering staying - there are around 5 peacocks are can be a bit loud at times and can be heard until the sun goes down and start again when it comes up. It wasn't a problem for us, they're lovely to see.

What a wonderful time we had. The campsite was just perfect. We camped with our 4 children in the site with the play area. The site is so welcoming and friendly and we all had such a good time. The facilities are great, toilets are clean and showers hot and clean too. We canât wait to come back. Thank you for such a lovely time Barn Farm.

Big campsite area. We stayed in the family field, which was medium sized and uneven. Nice play area. Washrooms and pot wash areas cleaned regularly. Took us a while to find the family bathrooms as they are not signposted. Lots of noisy peacocks.

Just returned from 3 nights here, as a family of 3 and a dog. We were first timers, but the facilities were amazing, really clean and tidy. Daughter loved the play area and it's nice to be amongst other families.

We have stayed at the campsite previously, but found our favourite pitch this time. Fingers crossed it's always available! Some great walks directly from the campsite. A busy weekend for the campsite, but we were always able to use the facilities. Very clean site.

Such a lovely location and perfect for what we wanted: to walk to Robin Hoodâs Stride and other great bouldering areas. Will definitely come here every time.

We loved our visit at Barn Farm. People at reception were friendly and made it super easy to get parked up and set up for the weekend. Facilities were great and the area was great for walks and food at the Druid inn was fab.
Unfortunately not for us

Very noisy and very busy with backpacking D of E participants (probably 100+ young people on the tenting field at times). A lovely set up but don't go if you want peace and quiet. We wouldn't have booked if we had known this was the case. Best suited to teenagers. One of the shower blocks was closed (the one designated for non D of E) so even taking a shower was full on. Toilets were very messy on the morning we left.

We have stayed here twice now. We have a motorhome and we use the bus to visit Matlock and Bakewell. It was certainly an experience around the tiny roads. The site is excellent and the staff are very friendly, but the reason we go back is the wonderful views.

I was in my small camper van. Lots of lovely facilities everything clean. Hot showers and wonderfully friendly and helpful people. Also felt safe as I am a solo woman traveller, though we were a group in our individual campers on this occasion.

This is a great site. It has character and loads of space. The site is well laid out and has lots of facilities, including an adult only shower area. The pitches are a generous size and never far from water or bins. Great views and 2 local pubs, both serving food.
Will be back
