Overbrook Caravan Park is an adults only touring park welcoming caravans and motorhomes. Set in the beautiful and picturesque North Yorkshire village of Thornton-le-Dale, Overbrook has everything you need to enjoy a carefree break away with outstanding facilities and customer service which is second to none. All pitches are hardstanding meaning you can visit and enjoy the area throughout the year without the risk of getting stuck on grass.
About Overbrook Caravan Park
Overbrook is ideally situated right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Its central location makes it a perfect base from which to visit the surrounding countryside and coastline nearby. First class facilities and an attention to detail ensure guests are well catered for. There are 50 well drained hardstanding pitches (25 are seasonal). All touring pitches include metered 16 amp electric and are never more than 50 yards from a water point. You'll be situated in mature, well-kept grounds with colourful borders and shrubs. Well behaved dogs are welcome here too but for safety and the comfort of other guests must be kept on a short lead. Guests are welcome to take pets onto the small exercise area onsite, where they may be let off the lead. Sorry, no tent camping.

Site rules and policies
All prices include VAT.
The site politely requests balances are paid by telephone or bacs payment 72 hrs prior to arrival date. This applies to all bookings and makes the check in process swifter. Please ensure the site has your correct vehicle details to help the site identify you on arrival. An email reminder will be sent 7 days prior to your balance payment due date.
Arrival - after 1pm
Please arrive any time after 1pm and up to 8pm. The site do not have space for 'early arrivals' to wait until your pitch is ready. If you expect to arrive between 6 pm and 8pm, please telephone the site before 6pm to let the site know your approximate time of arrival.
As you enter the park gates please stop on the left at the 'welcome board'. Please stay with your vehicle until you are at the front of the queue then come into reception. The site will explain where all facilities are and show you to your allocated pitch.
You will receive a 'welcome envelope' containing your barrier card, electric credit card, emergency numbers and guest survey. Also enclosed is a guide to using the electric meter bollard.
During your stay
The site shower and toilet facilities are fully open, the site cleaning team are in there each day, and times are clearly displayed on the outside doors. If you feel they require attention outside of those hours please let reception know at the earliest opportunity.
Please feel free to use the antibacterial spray on all touch surfaces after use within the site facilities. The site also provide yellow cloths by sinks for you to wipe them after your use, used ones to go in the counter top bins also provided so the site can wash and re use them.
Hand sanitiser is available at all key points around the park.
Departure - before 11am
Pitches must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure unless previous arrangements have been made. This gives the site time to prepare pitches for incoming arrivals. Please return your barrier card, electric credit card and guest survey to reception. Lost barrier cards / electric credit cards will be charged at £5 each.
Pitches
All pitches are hard standing with 16amp electric hook up. Rock pegs are recommended when using an awning (regular pitches only). No awning / sun canopy / tents are to be erected on any grassed areas. The site regret that they cannot accommodate oversized awnings or gazebos. Rock pegs are available to buy from reception for your convenience should you require them. Please also note units requiring space for a canopy will require a 'regular' pitch. Non awning pitches cannot accommodate any awning or canopy.
Electricity charges
From March, all electric will be metered. £1.90 of credit is included in the per night pitch fee (non deductible). This will be pre-loaded onto the electric credit card prior to your arrival.
Any additional credit needed can be purchased during open hours from reception. For simplicity credit will be sold in £1. Denominations. The site are happy to advise on how much you may need for your stay.
The meter will show the remaining credit whilst you are plugged in, and any residual credit will be refunded on departure plus vat. By law, caravan parks are not allowed to profit from the resale of electricity. Guests will only be charged at the rates supplied to the site - the site current chargeable unit rate is 50.09p per kwh. Any government support schemes will also be applied and passed on to guests. Vat on electric credit purchases will be sold and refunded subject to 5% vat.
Lost electric credit cards will be charged at £5.00 each.
Ev charging
The site do not have the facility or capacity to charge electric vehicles on the site park therefore it is not permitted to charge your car from the site electrical bollards. Your nearest charging station is in eastgate square, pickering, yo18 7dp, 3 miles away.
Dogs
For the safety of everyone please ensure dogs are kept on a short lead whilst on the park. Please use the site onsite dog area for exercise and toilet purposes, you are welcome to let dogs off in this area. The site politely request that owners deter pets from fouling grassed and planted areas of the park where possible, although the site appreciate accidents do happen. Dogs are not allowed in any of the park buildings. (service dogs are welcome). These guidelines are in place for the benefit of all guests, please respect them and the site park. People ignoring these polite requests will be asked to leave. A dog waste bin is situated in the exercise area and another at the beginning of the drive. Please try to avoid leaving dogs unattended in your caravan for long periods, particularly if they may cause a noise nuisance to other guests.
Wifi
Free Wi-Fi is available for all guests, and the access code is provided on your 'welcome envelope'. Download speeds can vary at the site busiest times this may also be the case when using band width hungry applications such as iplayer etc...
Payments
Deposits and balance payments (non-refundable) can be made by debit/credit card or online via a bacs payment. Bookings are conditional to deposit payment being received within 5 days of booking. Balance payments are requested 72 hours prior to arrival date. Statutory rights are not affected.
Cancellations and booking guarantee
You can cancel your booking at any time. All deposits are non-refundable and and non-transferable. Balance payments can be transferred to alternative dates if the booking is cancelled giving a minimum of 72 hours' notice prior to the arrival date. Balance payments will be transferred up to 12 months from cancellation date. If less than 72 hours' notice is given then all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Please provide as much notice as possible to allow the site the opportunity to re book pitches.
The site strongly recommend that guests take out suitable UK travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances resulting in the cancellation of their holiday.
If you cancel your booking with the site outside the site terms and conditions, please do not ask the site to transfer dates or refund any payments. The site shall refer you to your own insurance policy for you to claim.
The site regret that in the event of any early departure no refunds will be given for pitch fees and additional charges. However, any residual electric credit will be refunded or transferred to a future booking, as per terms above.
Statutory rights are not affected
Reception
Reception is open from 9.30am - 4.30pm daily for all general enquiries during the main season and reduced to 10am to 4pm during the 'winter offers' period. For medical emergencies after hours, you can contact the site on the emergency mobile phone number which is provided in your 'welcome envelope'.
The site stock a small selection of basic supplies and alcohol.
The site politely request that guests respect their 'family' time when reception is closed.
Security barrier
Every guest will receive a key card on arrival to operate the security barrier during your stay, this is to be returned to the site on your departure. Please do not attempt to follow another car through the barrier without stopping and swiping your card. Take care when walking - always walk around the barrier via the pedestrian access. For security reasons, please do not let anyone else on / off the park. The barrier does not operate between midnight and 7am. If you return to the park after midnight, please park on the left before the bridge and retrieve your car as early as possible in the morning.
For out of hours emergency access please ring the emergency mobile phone number provided in your 'welcome envelope'.
Guest etiquette
At Overbrook, the site provides a peaceful and relaxing environment for all guests. Please be respectful to your fellow guests by keeping noise to an acceptable level and leaving the facilities as you would wish to find them.
Washroom facilities
Please have consideration for other guests who may be waiting to use the showers after you. Kindly leave all facilities as you would wish to find them. As a matter of courtesy to fellow guests the site would ask you to please mop/squeegee shower floors after use and wipe the sinks with the yellow cloths.
Laundry facilities / tourist information
The laundry room comprises of a washing machine and a tumble drier and is situated on the right of reception. All meters are pound coin operated. Washing tablets can be bought from reception. An iron and ironing board are located in the dish wash room. Please do not hang washing lines from trees, bushes or posts on the park, any laundry should only be hung on caravan window dryers, any that are not will be removed.
All local tourist information leaflets, bus timetables, books and magazines are located in this room. Local area maps can be purchased from reception.
Visitors
You are welcome to have day visitors, but they must report to reception before entering the park. All visitors must be over 18 years of age and must leave the park by 10pm. The site have very limited parking for additional vehicles, so please check with the site for the best place to park. At very busy times the site simply may not have room for extra cars.
You may from time to time see / hear the owner's children around the park grounds as they are resident owners.
Waste water and elsan disposal
There is a grey waste-water disposal located at each water point on the park. Please empty only your sink and shower waste here. Toilet waste must be emptied down the elsan chemical disposal point located next to the shower block. Any food waste products should be disposed of in plastic bags in the dustbins provided. Please leave water points rinsed and clean for the next user. Please do not drain grey waste directly into hedges.
Aqua kem toilet blue and aqua rinse pink are available to purchase at reception for your convenience.
Motorhomes - there is a fresh water filling point and grey waste disposal grate located on the driveway specifically for you.
Barbecues
You are welcome to have a barbecue on your pitch. Please ensure that this is always placed on the hard standing area of your pitch and off the ground. If you need bricks to support the barbecue, please ask. Please be always careful and vigilant. Fire pits are not permitted.
Rubbish and recycling
Ordinary domestic rubbish should be disposed of in tied up plastic bags and placed in one of the general waste dustbins provided down the park. There is also a designated bin store area near reception for recycling and an additional large general waste bin. Within this area the site can recycle newspapers and cardboard / clean food tins and plastic bottles / glass. Signs show which bin to separate the items into.
Complaints
If you are not happy about the service you receive from the site please come to the site directly in the first instance and the site will do their best to resolve and rectify any issues.
Fire
In the event of a fire raise the alarm by dialling 999 and let the site know. Please do not put your life at risk.

The management and staff of overbrook caravan park accept no responsibility for the theft, loss or damage to belongings or property however caused. Please note, the site does not accept commercial vehicles on site. Failure to disclose this information when booking will result in refusal of entry to the park.
Things to do on site and in the Pickering area
The site is an excellent central location for visiting the surrounding areas of Whitby, Scarborough, York, Filey, Bridlington and beyond.
Dalby Forest is only a ten minute drive away or you could always walk or cycle there. You're also within comfortable walking distance of Thornton-le-Dale where you can grab a bite to eat in one of the local pubs or tea rooms.
Pickering has plenty to see and do including a swimming pool, castle and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
And if you don't fancy the drive yourself, why not use the Coastliner and/or East Yorkshire bus service running nearby.
