Three miles north of Leeds city centre, Roundhay Park covers over 700 acres of rolling parkland, lakes, woodlands, formal gardens, two playgrounds and the popular visitor attraction Tropical World.
Tropical World is home to tumbling waterfalls, humid rainforests and pools of colourful fish. Over 1 million visitors a year head to Tropical world to enjoy the largest collection of tropical plants outside of Kew Gardens, making it one of the UK’s most popular garden tourist attractions.
You don’t have to travel out to the countryside to enjoy a day at the farm. Just a couple of miles from Leeds city centre sits Meanwood Valley Urban Farm on a stunning 24-acre site. A ride on the train is the highlight of any visit to the Middleton Railway, from their Moor Road station up to Park Halt, where you can get off the train to visit Middleton Park where you'll find ancient woodland, old mine workings and signposted walks and play spaces.
