Things to do in Stratford-upon-Avon
Walk in the footsteps of world renowned playwright, William Shakespeare. The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust oversees five houses including Shakespeare's Birthplace where you can hear tales from his life, enjoy live theatre with Shakespeare Aloud! and see the very home where the Bard was born.
Pay a visit to the romantic setting of Anne Hathaway’s cottage This 15th century charming thatched cottage was the childhood home of Shakespeare's sweet-heart and wife. There are nine acres of gardens and grounds to explore including a lavender maze, a woodland walk, the Shakespeare arboretum and a living willow cabin.
From there head to Hall's Croft and explore the beautifully furnished Jacobean home of Shakespeare’s daughter Susanna and her husband, the physician John Hall. Wander into the tranquil walled garden and discover the fragrant medicinal herbs, as John Hall would have used in his remedies.

Take a walk along the scenic River Avon, or around the Holy Trinity Church located on the banks of River Avon, this is considered one of England's most-visited Parish Churches and the site where William Shakespeare was baptized in 1564 and buried in 1616.

Fancy a day in the outdoors, The Stratford Greenway follows the course of part of the Honeybourne Line, a single-track railway built in 1859 by the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway and closed in 1976.
