Things to do in Berwick-upon-Tweed
Start your day roaming around Berwick-upon-Tweed’s famous architecture, the Elizabethan Walls. The ramparts offer great views of the town and you can even walk along parts of the Lowry Trail to find some of the hidden gems featured in artist Laurence Lowry’s ‘matchstick men’ paintings.
After soaking up the history, enjoy an afternoon relaxing at Berwick Beach. Walk along the sands of this little beach and you’ll notice the red and white lighthouse in the distance.
For some more water action, take the little ones to the Swan Centre for Leisure. Kids can splash about in the shallow pool and enjoy the wave machine while older swimmers can see how many lengths they can do in its 25m main pool.
Release your inner artist with the kids at Pot-a-Doodle Do. Create your very own unique souvenir at the arts and crafts centre by painting ceramics and making mosaics. You’ll be able to take it home with you after you’re done too.
