Things to do in Sevenoaks
There's plenty of history to explore while camping in Sevenoaks. The National Trust property of Knole is one of the UK's most impressive stately homes, while Chartwell (family home of Winston Churchill) and Ightham Mote - both also National Trust run - are only just outside the town too.
Just to the south, Hever Castle (childhood home of Anne Boleyn) is beautiful - as are Chiddingstone and Penshurst, both a couple of miles east. To the north you'll find Down House, home of Charles Darwin and where he wrote On the Origin of Species. A multimedia tour voiced by Sir David Attenborough gives insight into Darwin's methods.
Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is a lovely place for a stroll, boasting five lakes and an array of birds and other wildlife. Likewise One Tree Hill, which offers a stunning slice of Kent countryside to explore.
The North Downs and High Weald are within easy reach, as is Royal Tunbridge Wells - a worthy day out.
