About Acorn Glade York

Ideal for a romantic retreat, this award winning glamping site caters for adults only with a sustainability ethos. Set in a beautiful flower meadow and woodland site, guests can enjoy lakeside views and even a spot of fishing (extra cost). You will also be on the fringes of the Vale of York and the Yorkshire Wolds. Each of the four units can sleep up to two guests. Conservation is important to the team and the site is driven by renewable energy, with solar panels generating its electricity. Additional lighting is powered by romantic solar fairy lights in all units. Both the Poppy Yurt and Daisy Roundhouse are within the flower meadow, ideal for wildlife spotting. There are also two log cabins, Bluebell which is nestled in the woodland with a king size bed, and Rose Hollow with a bespoke log bed. All have beautiful lakeside views. All of the units include a proper bed, bedding, table, chairs, a log burner, a single ring gas burner and a kettle for your morning brew. Daisy Roundhouse has a covered veranda with seating, whilst Poppy offers an outdoor decking with a bistro table. Both of the log cabins feature a covered veranda with a double rocking chair, a great spot for reading your book. Bluebell Log Cabin and Daisy Roundhouse have the added benefit of their own private, ensuite eco-friendly composting toilets. Daisy also includes solar electricity and USB points, a great option for those wanting to stay a little more connected. All guests have access to the communal facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen and lounge/dining area (the Roost) with a retro games console, board games, books and more. You can enjoy watching the wandering alpacas, and even book a 'meet the wallabies' experience. There is a rowing boat you can take out too! You can sit round the large fire pit and star gaze of an evening. Please note, that the site is dog free. They also ask you do not bring your own fire pit or BBQ and please use the ones already onsite.

A note from the site themselves...

We noticed there was a need to step away from the mundane and predictable chain-owned hotels or the ubiquitous identical squashed-together pods. We researched high and low for different, in keeping and stylish alternatives. We came to the conclusion we had to design and build something that fitted your brief - quirky, off grid, comfortable, lakeside verandas and views year round.

The setting is idyllic, when you come to stay, you too will feel the serenity, the ever present wildlife and sounds that are truly soul soothing (it is fantastic to be able to call this our office!). That's what drove us to create what is Acorn Glade.

The other side is we are passionate about providing you with the holiday you want, celebrating an occasion (got you covered), whether it's days out exploring this beautiful area and York, lazing by the lake, or on it in the boat, with a good book and your favourite tipple.

Having travelled extensively and come from busy corporate worlds, we know how great customer service feels. Each and every day you stay, you may not notice us, but be assured you will know you are in good hands. Real humans, not bots. Andrew
