Short break at Waveney River Centre

This park is great for a quiet weekend away. The facilities are spotless, a very clean well presented site with swimming pool and children's pay area. The hardstanding pitch was very private, with hedging either side, but quite tight and had to park the car in front of caravan, restricting views. The pub on site has a limited menu but the staff courteous and friendly. However, not ideal for walkers as no footpaths direct off site and no bus services to nearest town and local shops. You need a vehicle.

Beautiful location

Beautiful site and surprisingly quiet on the pitch. The facilities need some updating and the shower seats could do with clean. The site is private. The roads may be a little tricky for larger outfits and isn't secure over night. It would have been useful to know which road to enter in to avoid blockages. The camping side is small and unique with excellent views. Shame the restaurant finishes serving food at 4pm on Sundays, given it was a bank holiday weekend it would have been nice to explore that option. Disappointingly, we didn't have the opportunity to try the food.

So peaceful!

We had a lovely stay at Waveney River Centre in our campervan. It's unbelievably peaceful with everything you need on site. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we forgot to take a pan and the really lovely lady on reception lent us one! Couldn't recommend the site enough!

1st stay

New to motorhoming. This was our 1st ever stay. Easy booking on the website. Called the day before to check the route in and lady on the phone couldn't be any more helpful and polite. Arrived and again staff friendly. Pitch was excellent and facilities were easy to access. Very clean site. All staff were extremely helpful and polite. Restaurant was lovely and clean and food was amazing and good portions. Good prices too. Would recommend the site and we have already recommended to our friends and family with the other accommodations on site. We will definitely be coming back.

Lovely bank holiday weekend away

Narrow lanes to get to site but once there, the views of the marina and river are lovely. Food and service in the Waveney Inn was really good. Having pool on site was a great facility. Everyone friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return and recommend.

Good times

Very nice and clean site. The staff was nice and helpful and the food was very good. the swimming pool is nice.

Motorhome pitch.

Was advised after we had booked and paid that the pub would be shut for renovation work. When we arrived, had to wait whilst they took someone through to the shop to get something, yet a day later, we asked for something from the shop to be told it was closed? Showers are old and unheated could do with a refurbishment as shower heads send half the water down the wall. Big fan drawing in cold air with no heating, very wet and hard to get dry, and temperature on shower quite low. Water point not suitable for connecting motorhome to, had to use a nearby pitches dedicated point to fill tank.

Nice time away

Had a great night away. Very quiet and chilled, very small camping site. Nice swimming pool, lovely restaurant/ bar. All staff very helpful. Will be nice to go back when the weather is warmer. The park could do with upgrading with a little more for the kids to do.

Expensive

The pitch was nice and spaced out toilets were clean. Showers were not so clean and a gale force wind blowing under the door. Plus, having to keep pressing the shower is a pain, especially when you've paid £42.50, which is very steep. The restaurant wasn't open till 3 and other people near us said it hadn't been open at all for the 2 nights they were there. This one is definitely not on our return to list 😞

Peaceful stay

In spite of the weather, in which we had every season thrown at us, we had a lovely stay. The Kingfisher pitches overlook the marina and river and are very peaceful. The facilities were spotless. It was nice to have a bathroom cubicle for showering. We ate at the Waveney Inn for one evening and the food and service was very good. There's also a little store for supplies. The Inn is only open at this time in the season Fri - Tues. The swimming pool can be booked in 45 min slots at the reception. The approach to the site is along a single track lane with passing places - this could be problem if people tried to arrive earlier than requested so time your arrival accordingly.

Lovely clean site and very peaceful

Extremely peaceful place. Toilets and showers are clean and good. Wash up area is well set up. The pub was nice staff friendly and helpful. Only downside was the wind, with no ferries running to The Marshes. Will come again.

Picturesque site tucked away in a lovely part of Norfolk

Lovely small and peaceful campsite overlooking the river and marina. The facilities were regularly cleaned and close to all pitches. There was plenty of space for our children to play out and the pool was great! The onsite pub was friendly with nice food and a good selection of drinks too. We will definitely be going back! We also took the river cruise from Oulton Broad, which comes right up to the marina, so interesting to see it all from the water. Watch out for the two access roads though, they are very narrow for the last 1.5 miles. There are some small passing bays but wouldn't be any use if you met a caravan coming the other way!

Great location, clean and everything on site within walking range

Lovely and quiet, perfect view, food perfect and having a games room for the little one (and big one, partner that is) was a bonus. The view was amazing. Service was great from the reception to the bar and meal and the swimming pool reception. I loved the fact that you can have a shower in your own room instead of having multiple cubicles. All round a fab park and will be coming back again.

Customer service was amazing!

Lovely pool which is bookable. Lovely restaurant. The marina is very beautiful. Gave us a late checkout so we could spend the day here. All staff members went out of their way for us.

Small and peaceful site with a fabulous view!

Just stayed at Waveney River Centre for 5 nights in our caravan on one of the fully serviced Kingfisher pitches. It's in such a lovely elevated position overlooking the marina and the River Waveney. There are loos and a wash-up room close to the pitches and shower rooms with WC a short walk away. And a lovely little indoor swimming pool. The facilities were all lovely and clean and the showers were nice and hot. The Waveney Inn on site was great to sit and have a drink and the food was really good - a steak from the specials board was probably the best I've had anywhere! There's a small shop in the Inn too to pick up essentials. The lanes coming into the site are single-track and tight but there are passing places and it's not very far. We were a bit unlucky and met a tractor coming the other way so had to reverse with the caravan a few yards until the farmer turned into a field. Slightly worrying but we just saw it as part of the adventure! All the staff were lovely and friendly and really helpful. I honestly can't fault this site. We will definitely be back!

Great find

Great find. Lovely location with nicely spaced pitches over looking the marina, river and marshes. Onsite facilities were very clean and tidy. All staff were very friendly and helpful particularly with dietary requirements. Short ferry ride gave access to marshes, which was great for us birdwatches. Phil, the ferry operator, gave us all information we needed so no worries about getting the ferry back. Definitely go again. The play equipment for the children was great, but would be good to have a baby swing so little ones could join in fun.

Easter break

Very disappointed with the state of the pool and changing rooms. Very dirty and very wet changing rooms. Broken facilities in the ladies changing rooms. Shower and toilets on site were ok and always warm, which was nice. Toilets very clean too. Difficult to book swimming at convenient times.

Lovely site and facilities

Stayed for 3 nights over the Easter weekend and had a lovely time. We had pitch Heron1, which was ample size for my Transit camper and awning, and was nice and flat. The facilities on site were lovely and clean with plenty of hot water. We used the swimming pool 3 times which was a good temperature for our little one and lovely and clean. We ate in the pub twice and was very satisfied with the quality and price. Keep up the great work we and will definitely be back.

Lovely for short break

Lovely long weekend over Easter. Toilet and showers were nice and clean, great swimming pool and lovely views over small marina. Small quiet site, nice restaurant, games room and bar. Singer on Sunday afternoon. Only downside is tiny one vehicle lane in and out of site, which was tight with caravan. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Great site

Really enjoyed our stay at the campsite. Nice, clean indoor pool. Staff really friendly, food at pub decent too. Facilities generally good with under floor heating in the showers which is a nice touch. Nice view of the river which is lovely to wake up to. Would definitely revisit, preferably when weather a bit warmer and then we can participate in some of the many water sports.

Lovely spot

The park was lovely. The on site pool was very clean and warm. The toilets / showers were really clean. The only downside was that all the pitches appear to be grass so it was quite muddy. We would definitely stay again but only in the warmer, dryer months.

Best stay ever.

We stayed here for 3 nights in our motorhome. I must say the showers were the best we've ever had, and the restaurant was good too. Would recommend this site to anyone. We also hired out a boat for the day too as it was our anniversary so we thought we would push the boat out lol !!
