About the site
Guests are treated to glamping accommodation at a family farm by the village of Wincle in rural Cheshire. It's a peaceful and picturesque location, where you can explore and go wild or simply relax and take in the unspoilt landscape and wildlife around you.
The site offers three pods, each sleeping up to four with a luxury double bed plus a sofa bed for extra guests. Inside is a kitchenette, TV and heating to keep you cosy in those cooler months. You'll have electricity, USB points, linen and towels and outside there's a BBQ with a picnic table and deck chairs, great for al fresco dining.
Guests who opt for the Woodland Star Pod and Forget Me Not Pod will also be treated to a hot tub, the perfect place to enjoy a glass of bubbly and admire the views.
The site's valley is particularly beautiful and very remote, home to shy deer and trees which glow green in the summer and gold and rusty brown in the autumn. The canal once supplied water to Rudyard Lake and now makes a great wildlife haven with pretty bluebells and wildflowers to be seen.
You can watch the wildlife right at your door and stargaze in this peaceful and remote location.
Up to two dogs are welcome in the pods, so four-legged friends can enjoy a relaxing getaway too!
"Great stargazing from the hot tub as there was no light pollution"

Facilities are self contained and each pod includes an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette. All pods share the same paddock outside but each has its own private area and facilities.
Your closest shop will be Gawsworth Community Shop, a 15 minute drive away. The Ship Inn will be your nearest pub, a five minute drive or 25 minute walk from site.
A note from the site themselves...
We have been here for over 60 years with four generations living at the farm with our herd of suckler beef cows and Textel cross sheep, this is run by my Dad, Rick. My dad and brother also run a farm contracting business, so there's the opportunity to see what working farm life is like!
Our guests will get an insight into our farm life and have the opportunity to meet the animals or collect the eggs, and there is lots of space for your little people to run around in. We opened our site in 2018 and named it after the woodland we own!

Camping Pod - Forget Me Not Ensuite Pod with Hot Tub (Dog Friendly)Oct 2024
Our three nights stay was very peaceful but luxurious with the use of the hot tub!
The set up is very cute, with picnic table, BBQ and fire pit in its own enclosure. We had no other guests staying so it was very peaceful and private. If another random guest had been staying next door it could've been more awkward when outside as they are close together. Ideally, this place would be great for a bigger group using all three lodges.
Location wise there are lots of great walks within a 20 minute radius. More locally there is a great pub and brewery within walking distance.
Relaxing and peaceful

Camping Pod - Wild Thyme Ensuite Pod (Dog Friendly)Oct 2024
Lovely cabin set in countryside. Waking up to cows in the field by the cabin was so lovely. Facilities were everything you need. Was nice to turn up to the heating on as it was a chilly weekend.
Wasn't spotless, but it is a cabin so cant expect it to be.

Camping Pod - Woodland Star Ensuite Pod with Hot Tub (Dog Friendly)Oct 2024
An amazing stay! This was probably the best pod stay I've had.
All of the facilities was 5*. The pod itself had a full kitchenette with an electric hob and everything. Coffee, tea, milk, drinking water, towels, linen etc. were all provided.
The TV had full signal across all channels. There was no WIFI / phone signal, but to be honest that's a welcome break and exactly why you'd book a stay like this.
The hot tub was fantastic, it's not wood fired but it's a really decent deep size, easy controls and got very toasty. There's different light options and water work options, very fancy!
The location is great, everything is within 15/20 minute drive and you're literally just off of the working farm, so we had cows in the field next to us.
Only other thing to mention is that as far as we could tell there were no direct walking trails from the site, but again everything else is so close by it didn't really matter.
Would definitely recommend and stay again!
