About Forest Glade Holiday Park

Nestled close to on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in rural mid Devon, not far from the Somerset border. One of the main attractions is the 300 acres of pine forest surrounding the park which offers lovely walks with country views. As well as a wealth of bird life you can catch a glimpse of shy deer in this setting. The 26 acre site has 80 touring pitches including 40 hardstandings and 4 fully serviced pitches. There is also a separate camping field for those who prefer space and freedom to pitch where they choose, which is open for busy weekends and during the school summer holidays. Cosy camping pods offer a hassle free alternative to camping, with electric and excellent shelter provided. It's the perfect way to travel light and skip the tent. Pets are welcome on all the pitches but sorry, they cannot stay in the pods. If you fancy a getaway with the family or your other half there are 26 holiday caravans available for self-catering holidays. These are all modern, with a selection offering double glazing and central heating. There are also seasonal pitches for touring caravans available.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include free toilets and hot showers (including a family shower room), coin operated laundry and a washing up area. A campers kitchen is also provided, plus a freezer for ice packs.

There is plenty of entertainment onsite including an indoor swimming pool (open daily) with a toddler pool, sauna, games room with indoor soft play area, tennis court, ball games area and children's play areas.

The park's bakery serves up fresh baguettes daily, plus breakfast brunches, croissants, pasties and more. There is a licensed shop and evening takeaway as well as regular visiting food vans from the local area. You can also find a tourist information room where you can find free leaflets and newspapers filled with ideas for your holiday.

Your pups are in for a treat with an entire forest as the dog walking area!

Nearby are some excellent local pubs including Keepers Cottage Inn and The Wyndham Arms, serving food and local beers and ciders. There is horse riding, fishing, gliding and flying nearby.

Check-in for camping is from 2:30pm and from 3pm for glamping pods - you must vacate your pitch by 11am on day of departure, or by 10am if glamping.

Yes up to two dogs are welcome per camping/touring pitch, provided they are kept on a lead whilst onsite - the surrounding forest is ideal for exercising your pet, and there are a number of pubs in the local area that are dog friendly.

Is Forest Glade Holiday Park family friendly?

This family owned and run park features its very own indoor heated swimming pool, open all season from 8am-6pm, running early morning adult sessions and equipped with a separate toddler's pool. You'll also find a sauna in the pool building too, for total relaxation. The games room here, open from 8:30am-9pm, is equipped with table tennis, a pool table and table football, as well as a variety of arcade games. For the little ones, there's a soft play area and a ball pit! You'll also find two children's play areas, and the outdoor games area is perfect for a family football match or game of cricket. Get competitive on the all weather tennis court too - equipment hire available onsite.

The park is ideally located within the Blackdown Hills AONB, making it a great base for trips to Exmoor and Dartmoor as well as the spectacular Jurassic Coast. The surrounding pine forest is also ideal for nature walks with stunning views of the countryside and home to an abundance of birdlife. Other local attractions include: *Diggerland (7.3 miles) - go karting, mini landrover rides, a safari, plus a chance to test out dump trucks, diggers, mini tractors and more. *Killerton House (11 miles) - rich with history, explore this charming Devon estate with beautifully landscaped gardens and a network of walking trails - ideal for dog walks too. *Sidmouth beach (17 miles) - stroll along the sands and explore the rockpools with the kids at low tide in this vibrant seaside town. *Crealy Theme Park (18.9 miles) - ride the Flying Dutchman, hope aboard the Safari Express, and say hello to the meerkats at this popular theme park with a variety of exhilarating rollercoasters, play parks and more.

Things to do on site and in the Cullompton area

There is plenty to do onsite for both adults and children. Take a dip in the indoor heated pool, let the kids run wild at the soft play or enjoy a game of tennis!

There are plenty of walks you can take from the park or you can even head further afield and enjoy the beauty of Dartmoor or Exmoor, which are both 45 minutes away. If you like a spot of history there are several National Trust properties nearby as well as excellent museums, a tramway and steam railways.

The nearby traditional seaside town of Exmouth (40 minutes) has lovely sandy beaches, while Budleigh Salterton (40 minutes) has a pebbly beach and river walks.

If the weather isn't so good take the family to Crealy Adventure Park (25 minutes) or explore the county towns of Exeter (40 minutes) or Taunton (35 minutes).
