About Wellstone Yurts and Camping

Set in a pretty meadow with a babbling stream leading to the river Taf, this small site is the ideal spot for a family getaway. With great access to Pembrokeshire's stunning coastline, this magical site offers 11 acres of pasture and woodland paths. There are a total of 17 spacious non electric grass pitches, each allowing tents only. Pitches measure 4m x 4m, welcoming up to six guests each. Camping pitches are car free and some are slightly sloped as they lead down to the beautiful stream, great for kids to play in. If glamping is more your style, there are also two chic traditional Mongolian style yurts, each sleeping up to four guests. Inside they offer a spacious double bed and two single beds, with full bedding and towels. The furnishings are traditional and have been imported from Mongolia for that extra special touch. Outside the yurts, you will also find your own camp kitchen in a sheltered hut, great for all of your cooking needs. You will be provided with a camping stove and gas, kitchen equipment, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and a cool box. Shared facilities can also be found nearby. Wellstone Lake is also situated at the end of the disused Cardi Bach railway line and is a beautiful rewilded lake for wild swimming. You can also meet the friendly onsite alpacas! If you want to enjoy a night by the campfire, the site has fire pits available to use for free. BBQs are also permitted, as long as they are raised from the ground. Dogs are also welcome to join you when staying on the camping pitches, with up to one allowed per pitch. Please note, the yurts are pet free.

Wellstone Yurts and Camping is open from 22/03 to 04/11 in 2024 and from 21/03 to 02/11 in 2025.

Yurt - YurtsAug 2024

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The Yurt was very comfortable and well presented. The log burner keeps the Yurt very warm and with the Yurt being insulated, it is very cosy on chillier evenings. The bedding and towels provided were immaculate and the shower / toilet block is clean and in good working order. There is adequate facilities to cook or BBQ if desired. The site is very peaceful and with the river running through the site, there is a definite air of tranquillity. There are rope swings and hammocks which were enjoyed by all! The location is central on the peninsula, with main towns a drive away so relatively convenient. One minor recommendation to the owners would be to ensure that guests understand that there is no 'check in' per say. We had to enter the Yurt to find a welcome card with our names on. A nice touch, but we didn't know.

A lovely quiet break in a wonderful location!

Yurt - YurtsAug 2024

We had a fab 4 night stay at Badger Yurt! The yurt was very clean with great facilities, loads of exploring on the site, a picturesque stream and some animals which the kids loved! We had a few days out around Cardigan Bay which was only a short drive away, finishing most days with tea outdoors with the firepit roaring. Would definitely book again recommend for couples and young families alike :-)

Amazing experience!

Yurt - YurtsAug 2023

We had a fantastic family stay in a beautiful Yurt, the campsite was peaceful with plenty of space to explore and the Yurt was amazing. Comfortable beds, all the camping equipment you could possibly need and a welcome bottle of fizz too! Our kids 5 & 8 loved playing in the stream, meeting the Alpacas and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. Thank you for such a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back soon.
