With direct step access to the beach, The Hollies Leisure Resort offers an idyllic location on the Norfolk Coast, ten minutes from Lowestoft. Guests can choose from grass pitches with the option of electric, each spread over three fields across the spacious 28 acre site. Within 15 minutes of the Broads and Southwold, days are best spent by the sea or enjoying a boat trip. Dogs are also welcome too!

This is a good sized, family friendly campsite with super helpful staff. We felt safe and comfortable, with access to everything we needed. There is a Morrisons a 5-minute drive away for supplies and access to the beach down some (steep) steps. We were running a bit late and I rang to check we could still get access and they helpfully assured me someone would be available. For kids, there's a football field and a play area. It wasn't busy so kids were playing out by tents as well. Vans and tourers were in a separate space to tents, which were in the seaside field that had separate segments. The only downside, the site does say minimal noise after 23:00 but that isn't enforced. We had terrible sleep due to loud music, although to be fair, people did turn it down a bit when I asked and they were okay about that at gone midnight. It's a tricky one, as you get this everywhere, but it can make a challenging following day when you need your sleep.

A great find on the Suffolk coast, formal yet relaxed site, suits all types. Recommended to us by friends and convenient for a quick weekend away at the opposite end of our home county to fit in with other plans. Well presented site on entry. Welcoming reception staff and warden. Good security. Stayed on Hay Field where there were generous sized and immaculate grass pitches with electric. Toilet/shower block a sensible distance away. Always clean. Loved the breakfast wagon and F&C option in the evenings. Playground suitable for smaller children. Football pitch area for larger children with goals and golf. Areas of wildlife and picnic tables. Direct access to a sandy beach, but beware steps are quite steep. Beautiful views. New fully serviced pitch area under construction. Five stars for all this! Location/facilities only marked down to a 4 star rating due to the fact that it is a 10-15 minute walk in one direction to a supermarket/retail park or 20-30 minute walk to the village/other beaches/amenities in the other direction, so that is to be borne in mind. A small shop area with the basics would be really handy because of this. Additional well drained pathways around the first toilet/shower block would be useful. We experienced excessive rain and due to the construction work being carried out on the fully serviced pitch area, the only grass route around to the washing up area/ladies was waterlogged. Recommend heading into the small village for a look around. Free car park on Church Lane, walking distance to beach. Pub with live music. The Waterfront restaurant serves excellent food for all tastes. Lovely gift shop on approach. Site suits all age ranges. Although appears formal, atmosphere is actually relaxed. An enjoyable stay (despite the weather!) and will return either ourselves, with our son, or with friends!

The location is great! Really close to the beach, a short walk, but also very close to a supermarket as well as restaurants if necessary, and the train station is not far. The service was perfect and all the staff were extremely helpful. The site itself was clean and enjoyable, and overall, our experience was great. I would highly recommend, especially for the price.

Really nice little campsite. There's a little opening where you can easily access the cliff top with picnic benches to sit and take in the views. There are some wooden steps that take you down to the beach. Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly. There are sinks where you can do your washing up with warm running water. There's a tap for drinking water too. I'm not sure how busy it gets but there was plenty of space for kids and grown ups to play ball games and frisbee safely. There's a bus stop just outside where you can get a bus into Lowestoft which was about 20 minutes? The buses were regular but they do stop running quite early in the day. Will definitely return in the summer.

More water points are needed throughout the site. Some electric pitches in the seaside field would be wonderful. To be amongst other tents but with electricity would be ideal.

Excellent clean facilities. Nearby to a beautiful beach. Great for nature lovers and dog walkers. Steep steps down the to beach so would not suit buggies or where walking is challenging for the less able-bodied.

The showers & toilets are very clean & we would recommend it. Only feedback is that the site is very basic, I feel it could do with more plants in planters instead of weeds this would help it look more attractive. Or perhaps some nice trees planted as it did look a bit like a football pitch with motorhomes on tarmac …. Bit of landscaping would improve it.

Location was lovely. Right by the beach! The facilities were clean and tidy, the showers are a lovely additions after being around the camp fire. Location outside the camp with lots to see, and shop. Definitely recommend. Had a lovely time with my partner.

Staff on site couldn't do enough to help when needed! My partner and I, mid twenties, stayed an extra night when we realised we'd have to pack the new tent down in the rain otherwise! Reception were happy for us to charge devices there as the usual charging shed was closed, so no issues there. Car battery went flat (our fault) and 2 wardens arrived less than 5 minutes after calling to give us a jump, with a smile and a laugh. On site fish and chip van sold a wide range of dinners for totally reasonable prices. Also, super friendly people. 2 retail parks less than 10 mins drive away, so you also have Maccies, Subway, Pizza Hut and KFC nearby! 3 min drive away from Morrisons, Aldi, Homebase, Home Bargains. Really beautiful beach of special scientific interest sites at the end of the site, the steps aren't too bad for most! Fellow camper let us know there is also a sloped option further to the left! Everyone that stayed was friendly and happy to chat! Very dog friendly, so nice to see them pass everyday to walk down to the beach, but kept on leads so no fear of them running free. Plenty of space on site so you never felt cramped. Facilities were always clean and cleaned regularly. Warden pops up to the back field in a small van regularly so you know that if there's any issues, you're being looked after. Easy in and out access with code so leaving and re-entering the site is easy and secure! Would happily stay again and bring friends next time too! Thank you The Hollies! :)

For our first time camping, this place was lovely! Close to the beach so perfect for the dog. I will say, there are a fair few steps to get down to the beach and back up again, but wasn't an issue for us! It is a bit out of the way in terms of shops and pubs, the closest pub is a mile and a half walk down busy roads. Morrisons is a short drive away. The camp staff were lovely, we had an issue with our electric hook-up and the park warden fixed it in a matter of minutes. Toilet/shower blocks were modern, lovely and clean! All in all, a fab place to stay and will definitely be returning!
