Idyllic Location/Campsite with Plenty of Activities for all

We recently stayed at Lakeside Campsite, despite the unpredictable weather, we had a lovely weekend break camping and will definitely return. The location is beautiful, there are plenty of activities on and off site for all to enjoy. I was also impressed with the service provided by staff before and during our stay. Prior to checking in, I contacted the reception team, at short notice, they were able to amend and allocate us a plot located closer to the amenities (this was obviously subject to availability). During our stay I enquired at the café whether there was anywhere I could use a hair dryer and they were helpful, giving me advice on where I could do this. Finally, when we were all packed up and ready to check out, our car battery had failed, and the reception and management team were very helpful and quick to assist. The restaurant and bar staff were also helpful, the children and parents appeared to enjoy the mini disco services. We would definitely recommend Lakeside to families or anyone interested in water based activities. To summarise; excellent service and facilities in idyllic surroundings for couples, single people/groups and families'. Thank you for a lovely weekend, Emma and Lee xxx

Still floating after my magical, end-of-season stay at this great place. The weather was stormy but punctuated with short spells of sun and rainbows which made the Lake even more magical. Very friendly, lovely people, gorgeous views and surroundings and even grazing horses to look at.

Great camping field, sheltered by trees and surrounded by Welsh mountains and a little walk to the Lovely LLangorse Lake, the largest natural lake in South Wales. A new shower block with oodles of hot water.

Check-in was online in advance. I couldn't make it work, but the problem was solved instantly by email. Whilst this was very good, it would have been nice to be welcomed by a member of staff at the site. We camped in the tent field in mid August. The preceding lengthy dry period was, of course, beyond the control of the staff but the field was very worn with several bare patches, small and large and an abundance of mole hills. We were disturbed in the night by a mole beneath the groundsheet and the next day we could see that adjacent sites had suffered the same problem. Dogs are allowed and a £5 charge is made, but no provision seemed to have been made for them. Even a few bins for their mess would have been nice. The shower and washing-up facilities were excellent with individual cubicles containing toilet, shower and basin with plenty of room to move. Additional toilets were also available. These were cleaned daily. I got the impression from the website that the shop, café and pub were part of the site but they're outside the gate, maybe 100 yards away. The shop has only basic supplies and certainly doesn't compete on price. The café closes at 4 and the pub wasn't doing food on Mondays or Tuesdays, the two days we were there.

Thank you for your review, I do apologise for the moles, unfortunately they do appear to be more active overnight and there is no telling where they may pop up. I've just been over to the field now and they appear to have moved on! We offer online check in for all our guests but reception is always open daily from 9 am- 5 pm and many customers continue to check in at reception. You are very welcome to pop in for advice, local information or to browse in the shop. The charge for dogs is currently £2.50/ per dog per night. We have a bank of waste and recycling bins opposite the shower block, which is just around the corner from Elwyns Meadow and a further waste and recycling area in the middle of the caravan park and another at the entrance. There are a further 2 waste bins for dogs on the common if you wish to walk your dog more freely and away from other campers. The reception/shop, cafe and bar are located about 100 yards from where you were camping, though we have 3 different camping areas and some are closer to these facilities than others. We hope you enjoyed your stay.
