About Hafod Hall Camping Club

A back-to-nature camping and glamping site with views of the Welsh mountains and located in a designated dark sky area. The land surrounding the Hafod Hall Camping Club consists of 650 acres of beautiful unspoiled terrain. With its boundary is a large area of woodland, a nature reserve and the Alwen Reservoir. Pitch up in the fields or get back to nature in a wild camping field. If you want a Butlins style of camping this will not suit you, it's about keeping things natural here. The cabin is nestled in the trees overlooking the wonderful views of mountains, the countryside and the Alwen Reservoir. The site have fishing rights on the reservoir so enquire directly with them to book a rod. Please note there is no mobile phone signal due to the site being high up. If you need to make a call you can use the phone at reception. The owners love animals, so you are equally welcome to bring your dog and relax. There are friendly chickens and sheep here too, with deer and otters frequent guests. During the winter months (November - March), toilet and shower facilities may not be available due to unpredictable weather. The house will be available from 9am until 9pm. Please ring the doorbell outside of these hours. Hen and stag dos welcome. No children under the age of three. Baskets of wood are available to buy from the site.

Pitches are available from 7th January, the cabin from 18th February. The site is then open for the rest of the year.

Facilities and amenities

Onsite there are two basic facility blocks with toilets open 24/7 with hand sanitiser both inside and outside. During the winter and adverse weather, the owners cannot guarantee that the shower block will be available. However, toilets are available for use in the main house.

An easily accessible tap provides drinking water from the site's own source. There is no mobile phone signal as the site is so high up. Guests are welcome to use the house phone at reception to make phone calls. The nearest down Llanrwst is half an hour away, with several pubs, takeaways and a Co-op.

A note from the site themselves...

Hafod Hall Camping Club started out in 2016 with just a few people coming together to do what they love. We are a family owned business that is open all year. Little did we know that it would grow into the thriving Camping Club it is today. The land surrounding the property consists of 650 acres of beautiful unspoiled terrain.

With its boundary is a large area of woodland, a nature reserve and the Alwen Reservoir. Anyone staying at Hafod Hall can unwind in this remote and peaceful place. You can relax amongst the spectacular views of the Welsh mountains or recline under the nights clear sky, watching the stars (this area is a designated dark sky area).

Small Tent - Wild Tent PitchesAug 2024

Great camping site. Remote, close to nature, no mobile signal. Very beautiful place and people. Very helpful and friendly, with access to lake with option of fishing. Arrived on my motorbike and used it as my base to explore Snowdonia. Last 80-100 yards you ride on gravel road, which I loved. Could park my bike right next to reception. Big thanks to Ste, Graham and to the family that own and run the camp.

Fantastic, great walks

Medium Tent - Wild Tent PitchesJul 2024

Although short, we had an awesome stay at Hafod Hall camping club. The staff were very kind and accommodating, being on hand to help with questions whenever we needed. The location is beautiful, nestled among miles and miles of working farmland. Has an awesome wild camping feel to it, fire pits and logs available to buy on site. The highlight for us was a walk recommended to us by one of the guys, down to a stunning reservoir nearby with acres of woodland, hidden inside which are the ruins of an old Welsh village! There's no phone signal up at the site which I loved. My family had to put their phones away and it allowed us to share some real quality time. 10/10 would recommend! Thanks :)

Lovely location, had a great time!

Small Tent - Wild Tent PitchesJul 2024

Very rustic and wild experience, but that was what we were looking for! Everything was great. Literally only thing I could mark down for was the lack of toilet rolls in the toilets. I will absolutely be back here.

Site's response

We're glad you enjoyed your stay. I apologise toilet rolls were missing. We provide free 4 toilet rolls in the block, so can only assume someone had removed them or they hadn't been replaced.
