Social District is a beautifully positioned, back to nature base for camping with exclusive direct access to Lake Windermere. Boasting non electric pitches and a stretch of lake frontage, it's a few minutes drive from local restaurants, near the YMCA's fun activities and ideal for joining the Windermere ferry. Ten minutes from the National Trust's Hill Top and set beside an English Heritage museum.

A very basic site with just 4 portaloos and a water tap but it's everything you need. The location is stunning and if you're lucky, you can camp right on the lake edge, a stones throw if not. We were able to take our kayak out straight from the site and our dogs loved it. Firewood is easy to come across or you can buy it there. Cannot recommend enough. The only thing I would say is that the only shop nearby is a basic farm shop which is lovely but pretty expensive, so it's best to get everything beforehand.

Lovely spot right by the water, lots of space and dog friendly!! The people who run it were lovely too. Basic facilities with just a portaloo and a tap, would be great to have a sink to wash hands and brush teeth in too.

I stayed at Social District campsite with a group of friends. On arrival Tom and Abi we're very helpful and friendly. The site itself is large and located right next to the lake, which is great if you are looking at paddle boarding etc. If we had any queries regarding the surrounding area or whether we just needed firewood, Tom and Abi we're more than happy to help and nothing seemed too much for them. The only downfall of the site is the toilet facilities (portaloo's only) and that there are no showers. The toilets were cleaned but due to the amount of people on the site they could get messy quite quickly. Overall for the price and location we would all book and stay again as we had a great weekend staying here. Thanks so much for accommodating us all βΊοΈ

Could not recommend enough. The site managers were amazing and extremely helpful! Beautiful camp spot just by the lake. Will definitely be staying again. Thanks again for having us!
