This dog friendly touring park is adjacent to the tranquil Lancaster Canal, ideal for dog walking and relaxing. Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are close by and accessible by a bus stop 100m away. Good food and drink from the pub at the Crooklands Hotel is less than 100m and always popular (booking recommended).

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2024

During our stay, the site facilities were undergoing renovation so in essence, they were halved. This did not present a problem when the site was not full, but when the campsite is full (during the weekend), it was difficult to access the facilities. If I had been aware of this at the time of booking, I most likely would not have booked our stay. In saying that, the facilities that were available were first class (With the exception of the throne room). The site is superbly located and the owner was really welcoming and friendly. Facilities renovated, I would definitely stay again.

Site's response

Thank you for staying with us and recommending us on campsites.co.uk, Stan. The complete modernisation of the gents facilities in one of the blocks continues apace and we're getting ever closer to being back to full shower and loo capacity. We've brough the "throne room" out of retirement whilst the work is being carried out, so in effect all that we've currently missing is a single urinal! I appreciate that the throne room isn't a cutting edge facility, but it's clean, fully stocked and is functional. We'd love to host you again when the gents and ladies facilities in the original facilities block have been totally replaced, refurbished and modernised (it's been a much bigger job that I envisaged when we started) Paul

What a great little site

If you're looking for a quiet site to relax with the best bathroom facilities ever, then this is your site. 2 min walk to hotel for meal and lovely walk along the canal if you have dogs. Paul is lovely and helpful, this place is kept clean and tidy. Lots of care and attention. I saw this site last year when attending a dog competition and I was hoping it was dog friendly and it was, yipee! All dogs were under control and safe, in case children are about. Canal is a lovely place to walk dogs, which is right on your doorstep and everyone was friendly. Cannot thank them enough as its hard to find a place with 4 dogs (all well behaved 😁) The shower and toilet were amazing, I noticed on the wall the award for this, and for me was 5* clean and to be honest, best shower ever. You pay 20p for this, but the best 20p for 3 minutes ever. First time, I just had to stay for another 3 min as it felt like a spa, lol. Between the dog competition, I went and took dogs to beach only 10 min away. Check out the tide times. The beach before Arnside meant I could park and walk dogs in a huge area. Happy, relaxed dogs but not ideal if you have mobility issues. Motorway on your doorstep with garage if needed. Thank you for a stress free stay.

Hi Maureen, it was lovely to host you recently and thank you very much for leaving such a nice review of your time with us. Paul.

We were there for a break on the road of Scotland. Hard pitches are fine, with water and electricity. Sanitaries were very nice, clean but you have to pay 20p for 3 min of shower. The little road beside is a bit noisy in the morning, but this is a great camping site.

Hello Pascal, thank you for staying with us recently and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk. Paul.

We loved our stay at Little Acre! It was our first stop before travelling up to Scotland, and after staying at many campsites throughout the trip, it was the best and cleanest facilities that we came across. The customer service was brilliant also. We had an in-depth email of the facilities and our pitch prior to arriving and we had a very warm welcome upon arrival. Highly recommend.

Site's response

Thank you very much Thomas. I'm glad that your stay at Little Acre went so well for you. Paul.

Stayed 1 night at this superb site. On arrival, our welcome and pitch details were visible at reception, and it took us less than a minute to find our pitch. The owner was so friendly and very welcoming. The site was immaculate and the pitch a perfect size. Electric hook up and running water at all pitches made things so easy and accessible. The new facilities block is modern, gorgeous and has everything you need. The wonderful showers (a bargain at 20p for 3 minutes) were amazing and the toiletries and hair dryer were a welcome bonus. The laundry room was well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Set alongside a canal, with a nice pub/restaurant opposite, the site is in a lovely setting. We were welcomed by Paul on arrival and found our pitch with EHU and water alongside. The toilets and showers were in a new building and were the best we've found, clean and spacious with complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and more. Waste disposal at rear of block and Elsan emptying too. A small site, but the care taken by the owner to keep it looking good pays dividends.

Site's response

Hello Keith, thank you for staying with me and leaving such a lovely review of Little Acre on Campsites.co.uk. Enjoy your touring. Paul.

Little Acre was our last stop on a 10 day tour of the Scottish Borders and Ayreshire. It was our 9th campsite on this tour and it didn't disappoint. A very warm welcome from Paul (wife Sarah and Sandy the dog). The shower block and washing up facilities were a credit to Paul. Definitely attention to detail and well thought out. Location to the M6, the canal and the Crooklands Hotel add to the success of this great site. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Site's response

Hello Karen, thank you for choosing Little Acre for your last stop before home. We'd love to host you again when you are this way again. Paul & Sarah.

Lovely, quiet, pretty site just next to the canal which was amazing for us with a dog. The site was clean and tidy and well organised. The communication before we went was clear, with good directions and helped knowing which pitch we were on. Fantastic pub just round the corner with amazing food. Shower facilities were newly done and super clean. The host who met us on arrival was really friendly and helpful and even booked us a table at the pub for tea! Thank you so much, we can't wait to return soon.

Site's response

Hi Louise, I'm glad that your trip worked out so well for you. It wasn't a problem at all to book you a table at the nearby Crooklands Hotel. Here's to your next stay. Paul.

Little Acre Holiday Park is one of the nicest sites I have stayed on and will definitely be going back! Whilst it is small, it is set out very nicely indeed, has a shower block that is second to none and very polite and friendly host. It is in a fabulous location next to the canal and has super walks for our dog! We look forward to staying here again in the future ⭐️🏆

Greeted by the owner who was a lovely man and made to feel so welcome. The showers and toilet facilities were top class, high end finish on all the appliances and complimentary soap and shower gel provided. The pitch was large and plenty of space between vans and the grass area was very well kept. There is a canal close by and a pub across the road, what else do you need? Very tranquil, picturesque site, we will definitely stay here again and not for a stop over next time.

Excellent! Great little site. Amazing shower block immaculate. We had the best pitch onsite I think, on the edge of the camping field. Very quiet. Paul the owner was really helpful with a mind of knowledge. Great location for getting to the Lakes. We tried to book an extra night but fully booked. Free Wi-Fi throughout the site which is a bonus. Will definitely be back. We only live an hour away so great for few days stay. I'm disabled and the only thing I would suggest is a little basic shop, milk and a paper basic things. Overall, excellent.

Site's response

Hi Pam, thank you for staying with us at Little Acre and we'd love to host you again (on your favourite pitch!). Paul & Sarah.

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJun 2024

We were late arriving to this park, as our initial request for an overnight stop was rejected late in the day by another park. Despite us travelling in a Large TAG axle, Paul (Site Manager) assured us he had room and gave us a pitch that we reversed into without any shunting. The welcome was warm and genuine and when we couldn't get a late reservation for dinner at the local hotel, Paul mentioned that his wife Sarah was about to pick up an Indian takeaway and offered to pick us up some food on the way. We were famished and the offer was welcomed. By the time we'd hooked up and walked our dog down the adjacent canal walk (right outside the park), Sara was tapping our door with takeaway in hand. The park was well laid out and very clean and quiet. The new shower block was arguably the best laid out and cleanest we've experienced in many years of travelling. A great little park enhanced by a great management team who are genuine in their endeavours. Thank you for such a warm welcome. We'll be returning later in the year to visit the Lakes and hope to book here again as it offered everything and more for our needs.

Site's response

Hello Richard, Thank you very much and you were very welcome. Hopefully on the next occasion you'll have more time to explore the area and check out our other facility block which will been totally refurbished by then. Paul
