Little Acre Holiday Park is just a 15-minute drive from the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. This dog friendly touring park is adjacent to the tranquil Lancaster Canal, ideal for dog walking and relaxing. Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are close by and accessible by a bus stop 100m away. Good food and drink from the pub at the Crooklands Hotel is less than 100m and always popular (booking recommended).

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

We've just stayed here for 3 nights as we were visiting friends in Arnside, so it was ideal for us. It's a great little site, well kept and the owners are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The shower block is lovely and clean and has some nice little personal touches, the only draw back is there were only 2 toilets and one shower in the block we used, hence the 4 stars. Will definitely stay again when we're back in the area.

Site's response

Hi Cath, thank you for staying with us and leaving such a lovely review of your stay at Little Acre. We have 2 shower and loo blocks at Little Acre and you were closest to the smaller of the two - but size isn't everything and the loos and showers would have been always available for you, without having to wait. Enjoy your (long!) trip home and it'll be lovely to host you another time. Paul.

A lovely quiet site, 19 mins away from Kendal centre. With friendly hosts and spotless facilities.

Site's response

Thank you for staying with us Tracey. As well as going to Kendal, quite a few folk have a short trip to Kirkby Lonsdale as well, both are about 7 miles away. Plus on Mon-Sat you can take the bus to either place, with the bus stop being about 200 yards away. Paul

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

We have stayed at many sites during our travels and have had personal wet rooms allocated to our pitch in 2 of them. But the standard of Little Acre's toilet/shower facilities, laundry room and washing up area was 5 *. They were absolutely immaculate and were better than some hotels! A fairly good route to the main attractions of the Coniston & Windermere lakes, obviously driving not walking. A great pub only minutes away (walking), Paul was a great guy, he showed us around as we arrived and was always helpful. The showers were 20p and were fantastic! Thank you.

Immaculate site, not overcrowded, quiet, easy access from M6.

Site's response

Hi Beverley, I'm glad that you enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time at Little Acre. September is a cracking time to visit the Yorkshire Dale and Lake District from us - everywhere is still open, the weather is (usually) decent and its nowhere near as busy as the Summer months. Paul.

What a lovely little site, right opposite the Crooklands Hotel and on the canal. Lovely walks in the area and ideal for dogs. The site was well maintained, the toilet blocks were immaculate (with shower gel provided too), although you'll need 20p for the shower. Highly recommended.

Very good, ease of access from the 'wonderful' M6 after long drive. It's a quiet site by the canal, with an excellent restaurant a very short walk away. It's a well laid out site, with high quality toilet blocks which were extremely clean. A slightly sloping site, but ramps were provided to level up. We had a lovely email before we arrived which meant we 'knew' the site before arrival. Paul the owner was very helpful. We will be back.

Site's response

Hi Pauline, Thank you for choosing us for your overnight stay. Hopefully you'll get the chance to explore the area more next time. Paul

A very nice site and the best facilities I have ever seen. My only concern was the couple next to us allowed their dogs to roam free. We had our dog and he was always on a lead on the site. Other than that, it's a top site and a credit to the owners.

Site's response

Hello Scott, Thank you for staying with us and rating us at 5*'s on campsites.co.uk. I hope that we can host you again. Paul

First class, near junction 36 M6, a great place for a stop over or a visit for a week about 6 miles away from Kendal. The site is well maintained and the owner is very helpful, the toilet and shower blocks were recently upgraded. I only stayed a few days, but were thinking of going back next year for a better look around the area.

Site's response

Hi Derek, Thank you for your recent stay at Little Acre. It would be lovely to host you in 2025, whilst you explore the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Paul

Lovely, clean, quiet site. Within walking distance to a couple of pub/restaurants (one just opposite, the other about 3 mile away). Excellent, free WiFi. No facilities for young children on site, but within easy reach of Jendal and Southern Lakes.

Site's response

Hello Sarah, Thank you for the recommendation on Campsites.co.uk following your recent visit and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with us. Paul & Sarah p.s. as the vast majority of our visitors don't have small children, we don't off any facilities for tinies and don't have any plans to add any in the future.

Stopped off for the night on the way back from touring Scotland. By far the best facilities we've had. Shower and toilets are spotless. Grounds are well maintained and the pitch is perfect size. Wi-Fi is handy for the TV streaming. We had a lovely walk along the canal. Paul is really welcoming and the communication was perfect. Would definitely recommend this site!

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

This is our second visit to Little Acre this year. We previously stayed two nights in June and just had to come back, as so lovely. We stayed this time for six nights. Lovely owner, Paul, who is so friendly and welcoming. Luxurious facilities, super hot water, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner all supplied, plus cotton buds/balls, hand cream and even nail files! 20p for a 3 minute shower, and worth every single penny. Lovely hardstanding pitches with water and electricity. Plenty of room for our motorhome, awning and tow car. Canal walk right opposite, which is great for our dog. There's currently work ongoing to replace the towpath, which will be great for future walks along the canal and will make it more accessible to all abilities. Site perfectly situated for visiting either Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Lovely pub/restaurant 5 minutes walk away; we ate there once and food was lovely and generous portions. The village of Milnthorpe is 3 miles away and all shops needed to stock up on food, including a lovely Booths supermarket which we frequented quite a few times. Would also highly recommend a visit to Arnside, which is approximately 6-7 miles. Beautiful, old fashioned, seaside/estuary town, particularly lovely in the evenings with the sunset and highly recommend a pizza in J J Crossfield's. Highly recommend Little Acre and can't wait to return.

Site's response

Hi Alison Thank you for choosing Little Acre again and I'm glad that things worked out so well for you. Enjoy your touring and we look forward to hosting you in 2025. Paul
