Bush of Ewes is a peaceful pop-up site in the Southern Uplands, just 25 minutes from the English border and ten minutes from Langholm. There are 20 grass pitches for tents and trailer tents without electric, or there are four grass pitches with electric for tents, campervans and tourers. Enjoy stunning countryside views from each pitch and with access from the A7 you'll be just 30 minutes from Gretna Green and 45 minutes from Carlisle.

About Bush of Ewes
Situated in Scotland's Southern Uplands, the site is ideal for keen walkers, those looking to recharge and nature lovers! Set in a walkers' haven, it is right at the start of the nine mile Meikledale walk, the site also has frequent visitors from birds and other wildlife as well as having goats and chickens onsite! There are 24 spacious grass pitches measuring up to 7m x 7m for tents and trailer tents, four of which have a 16 amp electric hook up and also accept caravans or motorhomes. For days out, you'll be 45 minutes from Carlisle and an hour from the Lake District National Park if you fancy a day exploring the lakes. Langholm village is ten minutes by car if you want to stay close to site, and there is even a river that runs past the campsite for paddling. Start the day off right by frying up a breakfast on your BBQ, with fresh eggs available from the site (subject to availability). Please ensure BBQs and fire pits are raised off the ground. Dogs are welcome, with a maximum of three per pitch.
Bush of Ewes is open from 20/07 to 16/08 in 2024 and from 19/07 to 15/08 in 2025.

Things to do on site and in the Langholm area
Guests can enjoy a paddle in the Meikledale Burn stream which runs directly past the site, dogs may also love to splash around. The site also often has a blow up bouncy castle, perfect for keeping the kids busy.
Walkers will be spoilt for choice. The stunning nine mile Meikledale walk starts at the site and is a great way to spend the day, especially if you take a picnic. There is also the trail at Loch Hill, a five minute drive away, and the Langholm Hills (15 minutes).
There are also many historic castles in the area, great for learning about the fascinating history of Scotland. Hermitage Castle (25 minutes) has over a 400 year history involving Mary Queen of Scots and William First Earl of Douglas. Other nearby castles include Carlisle Castle (40 minutes) and Caerlaverock Castle (1 hour).
For an authentic taste of Scotland, head to The Borders Distillery, 25 minutes away. The first scotch whisky distillery in the Scottish Borders since 1837, here you can enjoy a tour where you learn about the process of making whisky, and you can even buy some in the shop to bring home.
