Very friendly and helpful owner. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely be returning. Just ensure you follow the caravan and motorhome directions given by the campsite, as some of the roads are very narrow. There's a bar and ice cream parlour. Fully recommend the ice cream.

Great location, 10 min walk to a pub, food was excellent, make sure you book though. Toilets and showers could do with an overhaul but are adequate. Bar on site was nice and prices very reasonable. Great nights stay, thank you.

Overall, I'd highly recommend a stay at Solley's. If it's a simple trip you're after, with electric hook up and relaxed atmosphere, this is the camp for you. You have a few places to walk from with ease too, and a bar and ice cream shop on site. The only suggestion would be perhaps a play park or even just a swing and slide for children would be welcomed, but they do offer tractor rides and there are some peddle go karts knocking around, that belong on site. There are 6 toilets in total and 2 showers, which are what you'd expect from campsites. In terms of cleanliness, they are fine and fit for purpose.

First time staying at this site. Great location with well-maintained facilities, and views across the fields. The local pub provided good and reasonably priced food. The site had a welcome, yet unexpected bar which was recently decorated and a great way to spend a windy evening. Pleasant walk to local beaches and towns across fields and rural roads, as an alternative to a short drive. Lots to see and do locally including Deal, Canterbury, castles and independent shops. The local Deal and Walmer Parkrun was very welcoming (and flat!).

Campsite was lovely, especially for kids, with the tractor ride and ice cream parlour. The toilets were a little smelly, but otherwise facilities were good.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, Amelia. I'm glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. The shower block is very much under review and being upgraded for next season. Hope to meet you again. Regards, Stephen.

Had a lovely stay here. There is some fantastic local country pubs in the local area. Nice location not a far drive to Margate and Broadstairs. The local beach of Deal is lovely too. Plenty to do in the local area if you've got kids. We went to a fantastic Zoo about 15-20 min drive from the campsite. Stunning country walks around the campsite too.

This is a lovely site, the facilities were spotless and although within walking distance of a pub they now have an on-site pub, which is fabulous. It is very tastefully designed and with a good selection of drinks. Not forgetting the ice cream, which is superb. We will be back.
Why didn't we find this site before?

If you're after a fully serviced holiday, don't come! But, if you want a quiet stay, even with kids, do come. Loads of space for camping, Elsan points and fresh water. A small shower block showing it's age. Ice cream parlour serving breakfasts and food all day, bar on site open in evenings. What more could a quiet country site need? Oh, and its only a couple of miles to the seaside as well. We loved it.

Super tranquil location set amongst miles of open farmland with many walks right from the site. You can walk to the sea and the town of Deal with it's many cafes, restaurants, long pier and own Castle with another Walmer Castle within walking distance! Super friendly staff (& dog) with their own ice cream sold in the parlour for you to enjoy your favourite flavour...and the best bacon bap ever!! They had just opened their new bar whilst we we there and there is also a country pub just over the field. Amazing value for money and will be returning. Thank you Mr Solley and team!!
