Great stay with amazing views. The walk to Robin Hood's Bay takes around 20 minutes and the Grosvenor Hotel menu gets a big recommendation. Showers and toilets are functional and clean. Site was pretty much silent after 10pm which was very welcome. Will revisit.

Small site. Well off the road. Some electric hook ups that seemed to be for motorhomes and vans etc. Non electric pitches were large and had great views. Some closer to the cliff edge than others which were set back a little with a bit more protection from the winds. It was windy at the front but the payment for this was having great views! Offered the choice of pitches on arrival. Relatively quiet site, even on August school holidays as pitches are quite far apart and large. Owner pretty much left people to it, but was happy to chat if bumping into him around the site. Toilets were clean, although with a 'rustic' charm. Showers were like wet rooms with toilet, sink and shower in each of the four (I think?) cubicles. It was great to actually have some space to move around in, unlike some other campsites I've stayed at. Plenty of hanging space in cubicles too. There were two sinks for washing up. These were sheltered and clean. Had one day when there was a bit of a smell around the toilets from the septic tank, but otherwise it was fine. Great location for Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.

Lovely campsite with stunning uninterrupted views of the sea and Ravenscar and Robin Hoods bay. There are a few well-placed hard standing pitches for caravans and RVs but for campers it's perfect as you can either camp right at the edge of the hillside looking out directly to the sea or just a bit back in smaller private sections. Either way, views are great and totally quiet at night. Facilities are just right and any through-hikers will be at home. Access to the cinder track is a short walk and the bay is a steady mile (able walkers in mind here as it's a fair hill to get up and down to the track). Mike was very helpful when we first arrived and the cat's reputation is accurate! Photographers will appreciate the location. There's a bus stop just outside the main single track drive to the farm and campsite for those without a car.

Lovely campsite, the amenities were perfect and the owner showed us round to make sure we were familiar with everything. The campsite cat Rubins deserves his own five stars for his friendly face! Despite some rainy weather, we had a lovely time. The views were perfect and the short walk to Robin Hood's Bay made for a lovely sunset walk with some fossil hunting.
Friendly welcome

We did go in late September so can't complain about the wind and the rain 😂 The view from the pitch out to sea was great, and I can imagine in better weather and longer days, it would be a great to spend the day just watching the sea outside your tent. Friendly welcome on arrival, everything fine. Would book again.

Stunning ocean view. The grass on the campsite pitch is lush, green, and well-maintained. Great location for Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay.

Great location on the cinder track making Robin Hood's Bay very walkable. I've seen some reviews that say the facilities are basic, but I think they must have much higher standards than me! The showers were hot, everything was very clean, and the campsite was really quiet. The only cons were that the water pressure could have been better, there could have been hand towels or dryers in the bathrooms and maybe some bigger hooks in the showers for hanging up clothes. Also, the campsite is relatively exposed, so it did get a bit windy at night. Overall, I would highly recommend and I would come back! PS, extra points for having a cat on the campsite!
Perfect!!

Beautiful site and great location to visit Whitby/Scarborough. Pitches are very spacious and the views are outstanding. Amenities spotless and not far away from pitches. Water taps conveniently spotted around the site too. Very peaceful and ideal for those who just want to relax. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful cliff top location for this peaceful site. Pitches are well spaced and although it was fully booked when we were stayed, there was loads of space between tents. Toilet and shower facilities are plentiful and spotlessly clean. There are 2 sinks in a covered area for washing up. Can be a bit dark if washing up on an evening but we took a head torch and it was fine. There is also a freezer for ice packs. Robin Hood's Bay is a 25 minute walk away, down a steep track onto the old railway line. The cliff top location does leave the site exposed so can be windy but the views certainly compensate.
Nice short break

I've just returned home from four nights camping with my two young sons, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Our stay started with a friendly welcome and we were able to pick our spot to set up camp. The facilities were perfect, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The views were fantastic and it was a great base for a stroll into Robin Hood's Bay and a cycle ride to Whitby. We would definitely recommend the campsite and will definitely try to revisit in the future.

Great site if you want peace and quiet, ground was hilly but we had chock. Beautiful views along the coast, as you are on the clifftops, so it does get very windy. Basic site with lovely shower rooms, with sink and toilet in there and lots of hot water. Great walk down into Robin Hoods Bay, but the path is steep and rocky, not suitable for baby buggies or the elderly. Lovely guy showed us around, didn't catch his name…will defo return…

The most amazing view you could get, right on the coast line. Steep short walk down to the Cinder track and then left to Whitby, right to Robin Hoods Bay. Nice secluded pitches. Lovely and clean toilets and shower facilities designed in a rustic way. Friendly and helpful welcome on arrival. Just don't be put off on approach, it's a site for solitude. ..
Ideal, quiet, friendly site with superb sea views

Everything was perfect for us. The reception was efficient and friendly. We chose our own, quiet and private pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean and the site was convenient for both the cycle path from Robin Hood's Bay to Whitby and the Cleveland Way.
