Caravan and Campsite Rules

No one likes hearing rules but we have made them with our guests in mind. They are there to safeguard all guests and we ask that everyone adheres to them:

Reception

Opening times will be displayed at the Reception which is in the bar. When the bar is closed the emergency contact number for the Manager will be displayed on the door.

Late Arrivals

You can pitch before or by dusk.

If you arrive when Reception is closed, please call the telephone number located on the front door. The site is open between 7.30am and 11pm.

Arrival/Departure

Pitches are ready from noon on the day of your arrival. You are asked to leave your pitch by 12 noon on your day of departure. If you would like to extend your stay, please ask in the bar before 10.00 am on your expected departure date. Please ensure permits are displayed at all time whilst on site.

Camping Pitches

Due to fire regulations your must pitch at least 4, preferably five, metres away from anyone else. If this rule is not adhered to you may be asked to repitch.

You will find fire extinguishers in prominent places around the site, please make sure you know where they are, they are clearly displayed on the map.

Speed Limit

The speed limit on-site is 5mph. There are often young children playing, we ask you to take special care when driving on-site.

Barbecues

Barbecues may be lit as long as they are raised off the ground and are in a suitable container - no wood burning please. Please ensure the smoke and fumes do not annoy other site users. Potentially in times of very dry weather, when the fire risk is high, the use of barbecues may be restricted, management will inform you if this is the case.

Dogs

We are a dog-friendly caravan and camping site. However please be courteous and clean up after your dog.

Noise

Please keep noise to a level which will not disturb other site users, between 10.00pm and 8.00am.

Cleanliness

We make every effort to keep the site facilities clean and tidy and ask for your help in ensuring this standard by using the refuse and chemical disposal points provided.

The Dartmoor Halfway Inn has been recently lovingly transformed from a derelict pub to a vibrant hub. Its team of chefs take care to ensure the food is locally sourced where possible and is freshly cooked to order. The specials board changes daily and the menus with the seasons, so there'll always be something tasty to try after a day's exploring. Real ales and fine wines complement the menu, not to mention a good selection of spirits so that you can have a drink with friends.

There's a children's play area where little ones can let off steam and you'll find limitless Dartmoor walks on your doorstep. The English Riviera and coves of South Hams are also beautiful to explore. You'll love Hope Cove, Searush Cove and the other secluded spots in this part of Devon.

Other things to do in the area include:

  • Stover Country Park
  • Bradley, a National Trust property
