Brilliant site, lovely position (5 Mins from J36 M6). Very nice owner who was always around if you needed him, Nice and quiet, fantastic shower/toilet block. Pub/restaurant across the road and the site sits between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Moors. Little Acre, big gem.

Had a lovely stay at Little Acre. Paul is a great host, very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets were best we've ever seen on a caravan site. Right on the towpath - muddy but passable with appropriate footwear. We walked to Kendal and got the bus back, close to the coast at Arnside and Grange over Sands. Nice pub very close and a village bakery up the road. Lots of good walks which is great especially with a dog. Would stay again and highly recommended.

Well, we have just had the best weekend 4 nights on this little gem of a site. Facilities were just hotel standard with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We shall definitely be visiting this site again. Owners were very friendly and always around and happy to help. Well done Little Acre, keep up the excellent service.

Lovely campsite, very clean and a very warm welcome. Could do with an onsite shop but the shower facilities were excellent. Wi-Fi was very good. Would stay again on the way to an onward journey.
Site's response
Hello Stephen. Thank you for staying with me at Little Acre and it would be lovely to host you in the future. I don't have a shop at Little Acre (& no plans for one!) as there is a 24 hour petrol station less than 1/3rd of a mile away which is very well stocked. See you again - Paul.

This site is the perfect stay. Facilities are the best we have experienced and the owners were very welcoming and gave us good places to visit. Canal walks and a pub with great food and friendly staff on the door step. Petrol station 2 minutes away. Had a great time. Would have stayed longer if I hadn't payed for our next campsite already. We will stay here the next time we come to The Lakes. See you soon.
Site's response
Thank you Rebekah. I'm glad that your stay with us went so well and it will be good to host you again in the future. Paul.

Paul met us on arrival and explained everything perfectly. The facilities were excellent. Great location on edge of the Lakes, lovely canal walk, very close to excellent pub, couldn't have asked for anything better for our first Campervan overnighter.

We've borrowed a van for a trip to Scotland and wanted a half way point. A quick Google search brought up Little Acre. The toilet facilities are better than some hotels. And as someone who has mobility issues, to use facilities that don't make me cringe is a refreshing change. Site chap who we met pointed us in the right direction for our pitch and then left us to it. We knew he was around if we were desperate. Definitely worth a visit. A*

Thank you for staying with us at Little Acre, Emma. I've just realised that I missed popping down afterwards to make sure that all was OK for you. Hopefully I'll be able to host you again in the future. Paul

Fantastic little site in a lovely location close to the Lancaster canal. The site is easily reached from the M6 with no small roads. We have a 7.3m motorhome and had no issues accessing the site. On arrival, we were allocated pitch 20 but asked to move due to not being able to get our motorhome level, so we moved to pitch 25 adjacent to the toilet and shower facilities, which the owners were happy to allow. As it was Mother's Day, the owners were going out to eat, so Paul came to see us when they returned to explain everything about the site and surrounding area. The owners are a lovely couple, who live on site and are around most days for a chat. The new facilities block is like a 5* hotel. Always clean, tidy, smelt fresh and included complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Well worth the 20p charge for the showers. The site has the usual Elsan point recycling point and a water tap on most pitches. Some pitches require levelling blocks that I believe are also provided by the owners if required. From the site, we walked 8 miles to Kendel along the Lancaster canal, which was mostly flat and easy going. The 567 bus to Kendel stops across the road from the site but do check the return times as the last bus back to Crooklands was around 17:30pm, but may change during the summer months. The Crooklands pub opposite the site does lovely food and a good assortment of drinks, we ate in the restaurant, which was reasonably priced, but it is best to book as it is really busy. A short walk along the foot path adjacent to the A65 is Endmoor bakery for fresh bread, cakes and fresh made sandwiches, which we would highly recommend. A Texaco petrol station is within walking distance of the site and has a well stocked shop of essentials. Little Acre Holiday Park is a gem of a site. We will definitely return when we are back in the area, thanks for a relaxing stay.

We experienced our first campervan experience at Little Acre this weekend. Everything was fantastic from the moment we arrived. Paul met us to guide us to our pitch. He explained all the facilities available, which were immaculate. Paul was able to offer advice on the local area too. He had already recommended the Crooklands Hotel/Pub, which is located across the road. We had booked this for our first night - we would definitely recommend as the food was great, but book in advance as it gets very busy. The facilities on the site were immaculate and of a very high standard. Overall, great first campervan experience - thanks again Paul.

Although I only stayed one night, I absolutely loved this place. Location is spot on for visiting the lakes and so easy to get to off the M6. The shower block is unbelievable and didn't want to go back to the caravan...honestly, they are boutique hotel standard. Paul is such a nice bloke and accommodating as well (sorry about the tracks I left in the grass, Paul). Easily by far the only place I'll want to stay when up that way and made us want to go back in a few weeks.

Thank you for leaving such a lovely 5* review of your stay with us in March 2024, Ryan. Hopefully, when you return in a few weeks the weather will be a bit warmer! Paul

This was our first trip in our new motorhome. Having never had one before we thought we would try Little Acre as it seemed to have everything we would need to get the hang of things etc. We were very happy with the site and our first foray into the motorhoming experience was perfect. We didn't use the shower block but had a look at it and it was absolutely lovely, warm, spotlessly clean and it had big rooms. Fixed hairdryer by the double sinks in the main hallway and 2 wall sockets for your own hairdryer or electrical gadgets. It had 2 shower cubicles, one with a pull-down seat under the shower if needed. 20p for 3 mins. 3 toilets with a hand wash basin. Our pitch was surrounded by grass but the main parking area was gravel. Nice and level. Electric hook-up point at the head of the pitch plus hose with water access. Plenty of communal bins and recycling bins. Clear signposts to showers, toilets, Elsan point, laundry room, washing up room and rubbish bins. The latter is far enough from most pitches, so it won't be a bother in the warmer weather with flies etc, but a short enough distance to easily walk to. There's a great pub just a short walk across the road. We ate there the first night (booking recommended) and the food was lovely with lots of choice and reasonably priced. Little Acre is near the side of a canal which would be a great walk when the ground isn't so muddy. We took a walk along a path that made a short loop around the campsite, approx 2k. This was a really lovely stay. We will definitely return to Little Acre.
