We found the campsite easily, it was in a quiet spot looking over the valley to the North Yorkshire Moors. It's a small site, clean and tidy. The check-in was simple and straightforward. The facilities were basic but spotless. There are some lovely walks nearby, but you are only a short drive to Whitby. I would definitely recommend this place.

A lovely location, with good facilities (basic toilet and basin on field, larger shower/toilet/basin nearby plus kitchen spacing). Well managed, quick and simple check in. Gradient of field is slightly unfortunate but it is clear in the description, so expected it.

Beautiful site with amazing views .Site only opened last year so facilities very up to date including a very well equipped kitchen and individual shower units. On the minus side all the pitches appear to have a slight slope so during the night our air beds slid from the centre of the tent to the door! The aforementioned shower units there are 4 for the site but 2 are reserved for the pods so only 2 for tent users .I think more would be useful but to be fair by choosing carefully when to shower we only had to wait once. These are minor points however and I would wholeheartedly recommend this site.

Great site, everyone very friendly. Children very happy to mix (playing football, kite flying, playing hide and seek). Great to see them safe to play. Toilets, showers. kitchen facilities were very clean. Great as a base for Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough not far away. We enjoyed our Holiday and are looking forward to staying again. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Newton House Farm. The view from the campsite was spectacular! The local walks to Falls Foss are highly recommended. The facilities, especially the kitchen, were excellent! The site overall was clean. The only downside was that the pitch was on a slope.
Great for a night on the Coast to Coast Path

Facilities are excellent. A kitchen to use, several places where I could charge my phone. Clean showers and toilets. Toilets near the tents too. Lots of sheep around the camping, so bring your earplugs. Just one thing, I did not manage to find a flat or level spot. Not far from the Coast to Coast Path
Beautiful scenery but a couple of issues

Really strange one. Probably one of the best views you will get. Absolutely stunning scenery and location. The facilities are fantastic with 2 toilet blocks in the main camp and 2 shower blocks with loos, and a kitchen with kettle, toaster, fridge freezer and plugs, not much more you could ask for in terms of views and facilities. Although they were great, unfortunately this was completely outweighed by 2 issues that are potentially beyond the control of the owners, but I think to other campers are essential to know before booking. Firstly, sheep. Wow, when we first arrived, the view, the fields is spectacular, but the constant screams from the sheep is almost unbearable, and rarely stopped all day and through the night. We stayed 2 nights it was tough with the noise from 3-am on the the second night onwards. 3 fields surround the campsite and the sheep never stop. If you are okay with this, then no problem. If you have issues sleeping with noise then this isn't for you. I couldn't bare another night with the noise. Again, not the fault of the owners as I'm not sure what else they can do, and you are stopping on a farm after all, but it's almost unbearable. Secondly, on a hill - there are 20 pitches on site and we were on the left, bottom side. Again, it would take some work for the owners to level this out due to the decline from top to bottom of the tent, but we believe this urgently needs rectifying as it's almost impossible to sit, cook, sleep comfortably without everything sliding downwards. There must be a 5 foot different form the bottom of our tent to the top. Just to cook our food on a level, we had to raise the table legs around a foot. Everything was sliding down in the tent over the days and towards the second day, was becoming a real issue and annoyance. This really needs levelling a little more. Feels strange leaving a negstive'ish review as the site is great, views are great and facilities excellent. But the sheep noise and angle of the campsite means this could turn into a very difficult experience. I hope this review is taken in the best way possible and feedback taken on board for further guests as this could be one of the best sites about if the issues above could be sorted somehow. Thanks again.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, as a new site feedback is really important to us and we're really glad to hear that you liked our site overall. We can only apologise for our noisy sheep! We are a working farm with a flock of over 200 and unfortunately, sometimes they have to be grazed near the campsite, they are only located there for a few weeks at a time so it is unfortunate that your stay fell during one of those weeks! As for the gradient of our field; we are fully aware that it is far from ideal (although many of our guests don't seem to mind!) Unfortunately, due to severely wet weather last winter, we were unable to carry out the improvement works we had planned. In view of this, we have taken the decision to close the campsite early this year to give ourselves more time to make those improvements. I do hope that you will choose to return next year when the field will be much better and hopefully the sheep won't be in residence!

We have just returned from a fabulous break at Newton House Farm. The location is perfect for lots of different local places such as the Foss Fall, Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby. There are several different pubs, restaurants within close driving distance. The facilities were clean, and perfect for what we needed. Be aware, they are at the top of a slight hill, no issues for us or our dogs but could be for others! The views were incredible, everyone staying was polite and respectful in terms of noise, and despite some wind, the weather has been spot on. Could not recommend the site enough, we will be back and would certainly recommend. Thank you.

Lovely place to stay good location, nice walks down the road and a Waterfall. The facilities are nice, only 2 toilets with the showers in but this wasn't a problem for us as there weren't many people there. The toilets and showers are nice but no hand soap when we arrived, but then some was put in. There is a kitchen there but I didn't use it, but went in and looks nice. Plugs to charge your phone and a kettle in there. Not much signal there, so perfect if you want time away from your phone. We didn't see anyone there but check in is in the kitchen area. Lovely place to stay and will be coming back again. The only thing I have is maybe the owners could put some lights on the fence up to the bathroom as it's very dark, so make sure you take torches with you. Myself, my partner and our dog stayed there - good for dogs.
Lovely quiet location, plus bonus cows!

We stayed at Newton House Farm for two nights and loved our stay. The little amenities building was brilliant to have for washing dishes etc and it was very clean. We loved saying hello to the cows every day as they moved around the fields outside of the campsite. Would recommend 👌🏼

Excellent from start to finish. Pod was well kitted out and had cleanliness of the highest standards. Milk, water, tea and coffee provided. The view from the pod was stunning, we enjoyed sitting out on the deck of an evening to appreciate both the view and the calm.

The campsite is a reasonable size, no shop but with individual communal toilet/ showers and modern kitchen room. It has lovely views over the fields and beyond. It has 2 toilet/ shower rooms for campers and 2 toilet shower rooms specifically for the 2 pod campers. The kitchen facilities are brand new and ideal if caught out on a wet night. There is a little upward pathway to get to the facilities. Plenty of space on the site and booking in is straightforward by signing into a book in the kitchen once fully set up. Be aware that you cannot park your car by your tent. However there is ample parking for cars in the car park next to the field for tents. There is no shop so make sure to have all food supplies with you. We didn't meet the owners/ managers so it's very much a sort yourself out sort of campsite. But the facilities are modern and all instructions are there to direct you to where to find things and what to do. Very happy with our stay here and would happily go back.

We really liked how peaceful the setting is and the lovely views. The kitchen area was great with a fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. The shower block is modern and clean. It's a short walk down to the waterfall, river and woodland. The position is great for getting to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Also great for our dog.

Loved it, a perfect location.10 minutes from Whitby. Stargazing was out of this world. Only downside of the site was only having 2 toilets/showers on a busy campsite.

A lovely site set in beautiful countryside with fantastic views. Location is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet with great local attractions such as Falling Foss, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay only a short distance. Beautiful countryside walks right from the campsite. As this is a tents only site with a maximum of 20 pitches and two glamping pods, this is a lovely, quiet site. Great facilities with a modern amenities block which houses a campers kitchens with toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge and washing up facilities which are really useful. Combined shower and WC (only two) can lead to queues at times. I would recommend this site if you want a quiet break.

Absolutely stunning location and a lovely site, nice and peaceful. 2 blocks with a shower, sink and toilet. Doesn't work when campsite is busy as there are no other toilets. Not everyone clears up after themselves either. This was the only downside. Kitchen facilities with kettle, toaster and microwave. There is also a fridge freezer. Will definitely return to this beautiful site.
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review, Sarah. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and delighted that you would love to come back. We are planning to add more toilets to the site, in another block closer to the pitches and hope to have them completed this Autumn, ready for next season.

Loved the location of this site for exploring Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and Saltburn. The local waterfall and coast-to-coast path are also great things to do nearby with a fantastic cafe for breakfast or cakes. The site itself is simple, a field with quite a slope - easy to find a space but there were a lot of tents there, especially on Friday and Saturday. Facilities were great (lovely hot showers) but had a bit of a wait sometimes as toilets and showers are in the same individual rooms, so you had to wait for people to come out.

The campsite is not the flattest you can find but that is compensated by gorgeous views from over the valley. It is fairly quiet and very family and pet friendly. We really enjoyed our stay there. Kitchen was enough even though the fridge was always full. Also car park fills quite fast and as it is very small you might end up parking on the grass. Definitely would go back there. Maybe booking one of the pods this time.
