About Teifi Meadows

An ideal location for wildlife spotting and scenic walks. This small and secluded site is a great spot to escape the crowds and simply unwind, located in the heart of the Ceredigion countryside. For days out, you will also be only a 30 minute drive from the coast, with New Quay within 45 minutes, perfect for picking up a boat trip. The site is home to a total of 21 grass pitches, each around 8m x 8m with the option of a 10 amp electric hook up. Tents, trailer tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans are all welcome, with up to six guests permitted per pitch. If you're searching for a romantic getaway, the site offers a shepherd's hut for two, located in its own private garden with an idyllic stream running through it. Inside the rustic 6m x 3m hut, you will find a double bed, bedding, electric, a wood burner and a bathroom opposite with a loo and shower. There is a small kitchenette that features a sink, kettle and toaster. Step outside and the hut enjoys a private large patio area with a full outdoor kitchen. Here there is a fridge, hob, sink, BBQ and all the pots, pans, crockery and utensils you will need for cooking up a storm. For al fresco dining, there is a table and chairs, along with a fire pit. The shepherd's hut even includes a complimentary breakfast hamper with sausages, bacon, free-range eggs, scones or Welsh Cakes to enjoy in the morning! Please note, the shepherd's hut is pet free. Teifi Meadows offers a semi-wild nature experience with most of the creature comforts you love. Located in an official Dark Sky zone, clear nights allow spectacular views of the cosmos - ideal if you bring your telescope. In the daytime, red kites and buzzards soar overhead, and the wildflower meadow (with large areas left to grow naturally) encourages an abundant ecosystem that nature-lovers will appreciate. Dogs are also welcome to join you when camping, with up to two pups permitted per pitch. For nights in the open, the site has fire pits available to borrow with firewood to purchase too. BBQs are also welcome, just please ensure they are raised from the ground.

A note from the site themselves...

We are Joss and Silvana, Joss is a writer of psychology and philosophy, and a meditation teacher and I am an actress, singer and comedy scriptwriter. We came to Wales in search of inspiration. By stepping back from the hustle and bustle of hectic 21st century life, we wanted more time for the important things in life.

Time for cooking, time for playing, and time for our arts... And most of all, we wanted more quality time for sharing with friends.

We also wanted to become more self-sufficient in food, water and energy and found that the site can provide almost everything we need. Running the campsite gives us the chance to connect with people from far and wide, of all walks of life, and to see them at their best - relaxed, open, devices off, present in the moment.

As the poet Rumi famously said: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there." We like to meet people in that place.

We hope to welcome you soon.

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

If you're happy with a muddy field, then this is the site for you. It's very basic and has everything you need, but in wet weather, it is muddy slippery and wellies are a must! The toilet/shower blocks are filthy, they are not well maintained which lets the site down. I do however think that the filth is partly to do with the people staying at the site. The electric tripped twice during our stay because of the fact the plug-ins were over loaded, which is not acceptable when you pay for it. People were shouting and playing loud music until early hours of the morning. This site has the potential to be lovely however, it needs some work to solve the many issues unfortunately!

Wow! A life altering experience with magnificent hosts in a breath-taking environment. I was looking for a break from the rat race and this place was my sanctuary for one week and now it feels like a home from home. I could not recommend it enough. The location was just enough off grid to switch off from the fast lane and take a deep dive into self-sufficiency with my new friends. It was much greater than the sum of its parts. On a whole, it delivered in so many unexpected ways. I've already re-booked to learn and develop my own skills and assimilate into this new world. It's mesmeric qualities reinvigorated my desire to get away from the city and fully immerse myself in the countryside and become fully self-sufficient. My deepest appreciation to Joss and Sylvana.
