Brick Kiln Farm is an adult only site surrounded by tranquil countryside, ten minutes to Woodbridge. Framlingham, Sutton Hoo and the coast are also within a 20 minute drive, with plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Fire pits are available for each pitch, with wood onsite available for purchase. Onsite you'll find an honesty shop, table tennis and a reading room, just a short walk across the field to a village shop and pub!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

Spent 2 nights here in a roof tent. Really well kept quiet site with spotless facilities. Loads of hot water for showers and washing up. Great outdoor covered area to relax in as well. Nice to see a campsite which retains the facility of fire pits.

Well run and peaceful site with lots of charm.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

An extremely peaceful and well run site with beautifully flat pitches and charming extras (not fully explored) such as a garden rest. An oddly stocked shop with handy things like a nice cold beer in the fridge and other miscellaneous camping extras and logs for fire pits. Fridge and freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave for use in a pleasant outhouse. Hot showers and clean fresh toilet area with rugs and other homely touches. Handily situated near Suffolk’s coast. We had a very pleasant 2 night stay.

Super site, we'd like to have stayed longer

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We are a retired couple who had not camped for 25 years but wanted to experience camping again...but without our children (now parents themselves). This small campsite with spacious well laid-out pitches made it such a positive experience, we will probably return next week! The showers and toilets and basins were clean, comfortable and attractive with little extras like hairdryers and hand wash. The kitchen had washing up basins, cutlery and china to borrow, a toaster and electric kettle among other facilities. There were well lit places to sit and read and charge our phones. There was also an extremely comfortable sofa under a large gazebo when we wanted a change from our camping chairs. The area is great with the village pub, within walking distance and a station should you wish to explore further afield without a car or bike. The local farm shop does breakfasts to die for and has been reviewed by J Rayner. There is also so much to explore in this part of Suffolk from local walks through the fields, to the glories of the river estuaries. Aldeburgh, to Sutton Hoo to Minsmere Bird Reserve. Coming back to our tent with all the facilities on the site, the sunsets, starry skies and glorious harvest moon made this camping break, which we hope will be the first of many. Thanks to Tina for her hospitality and attention to detail which made our return to camping so pleasurable!

Peaceful location surrounded by greenery

Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Easy walking distance to coffee and cake at the renovated train station, and at the farm shop and café at the end of the road (very nice food and setting). 20 minute walk. Can take the train from Wickham Market train station to Beccles. Small shop in village. Didn't go to the pub. Nice touch to have an outside covered area for campers, table tennis, and to have an honesty shop for small items. Loos and showers were okay. We were in the shadier, more private, small area in the garden and orchard but you can choose full sun spots on the field and really enjoy it all day through.

Great site with fabulous facilities

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Well-run and well-kept site with a quiet policy. Loads of useful extras like a hairdryer, kettle and fridge freezer. Honesty shop which was well stocked. If I had to point out a negative, it would be cobwebs in the communal areas. Would not stop me returning though.

Site's response

Dear Tracey, thank you for your kind review and I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here. Cleanliness is a top priority for me and I am regularly on site to ensure that it is always clean and I know that with all the positive feedback that I receive - that my site does not fail on this. However, I will say two things about the spiders! Being basically outside buildings, I could cobweb every day and they would be back. It is honestly fighting a losing battle. The second thing is that I cannot bear to kill anything and I feel that all of nature is welcome to reside here. I know there are many who have a deep fear of spiders and little critters and I tend to think that if that is the case - they wouldn't be camping. When I cobweb I have to do it with my eyes closed as I don't like to destroy their homes. However, point taken and I will take my feather duster onto the site and try again.

Fantastic stay at Brick Kiln Farm Campsite!

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

I stayed at the site for a night with my 18 year old son in our tent. We had a brilliant time. The site was beautifully clean and tidy. Shower block spotless and the shop and facilities were brilliant. Lovely, calm and friendly atmosphere. Great interaction from the owner checking we were all happy and had everything we needed. We slept better than we do at home! We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for a fabulous, relaxing and refreshing night away.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. I really appreciate this. I work very hard in the background ensuring that the site is clean - spotless, I think you said. It is because I loathe going into any sort of public loos and finding bins overflowing and no toilet paper and dirty basins. I just hate it - so why would my campers want that? I am passionate about it. It is lovely to hear that you slept well and that you will be returning. Thank you again. x

Excellent weekend stay. No music and adults only. Perfect for two sisters to catch up.

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely review! I am so pleased that you were able to catch up with each other in the peaceful countryside (with no music or 'little' voices). We look forward to your return visit! Tx

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

Peaceful site and picturesque in the orchard with good pub nearby. Was almost twice the price we paid on previous two nights for a site equally as nice.

Site's response

I am glad that you thought of the site as nice, peaceful and picturesque, Simon. I remember that you had the top of the Orchard which is a great space. I believe that price you paid was £16 per person as there were 3 of you. If you only paid £8 each for a site the previous night, I am amazed that they were offering as much as we do here! I hope you saw all that is offered here, and made use of it, but just in case other potential campers are concerned about what is included in the price, there is a shower/toilet block with hot water available 24/7, kitchen area with free use of fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery. There is free wi-fi. There are firepits with wood available to purchase on site. I run an honesty shop with a fridge full of cold drinks. There is an under cover seating area with a range of chairs and tables, including recliners, a pool and table tennis table, rugs if the night is cold, along with a reading room that is cosy and private. I offer pitches without cars but I don't think you booked this. It is easy to get in a muddle with this but I could have sorted it out with you on arrival had you flagged it up. At the end of the day, I don't force anyone to stay here and if anyone feels that the price is too high - don't book! There are many hidden costs running a campsite and this year, all costs have increased. I didn't want to put my rate up but I checked with local campsites and am in-line with them. I am also Adult Only so this is going to narrow my market and make it a little more expensive than family run sites as those who stay here are looking for peace and quiet. I welcome walkers and bikers, and the comments I usually receive from them is that it is wonderful that they can travel 'light' by bike or foot and have so much here to help with their stay.

Exceptional site

First time at this site and what a great one it is, we will definitely return. Everything about the site was really excellent. Great pitches, well tended and a variety of facilities for campers to use. Very clean showers and toilets. Quite close to a great pub and a train station, should it be needed. Best bit was the quiet and being able to hear the birdsong. Very friendly and helpful owners.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We really appreciated this. I heard the birdsong so clearly this weekend - even the rustling of the birds in the trees. I work hard cleaning the showers and loos and thank you for appreciating all the facilities here. We want all our campers to enjoy their stay here and to find peace and quiet in our busy loves. I look forward to welcoming you back. Tx

Brick Kiln Farm Campsite is a very pleasant and quiet site. The facilities were well stocked with soap, paper towels etc and were very clean. Tina was very welcoming and has put a lot of effort and care into ensuring there is something for everyone, a covered seating area, reading room, honesty shop, dishwashing area and even a fridge/freezer for guests to use to keep their food chilled. Thank you very much, we enjoyed our stay.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind review. We do work hard here and I always like to try to think of little extras to make my guests stay more enjoyable. The covered seating area has been very popular this year with the poor weather. I do hope you will return again soon and we look forward to welcoming you back. T.

Very efficient booking system with great facilities including a small shop with an honesty box and a games/ lounge marquees with comfy seats. The site owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We used the site as a base to visit Sutton Hoo. We ate a meal in The Duck Inn which is within walking distance. The site itself was peaceful and secluded. We will definitely stay again.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind review and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay here. Sutton Hoo is amazing! And I am glad that you enjoyed that also the Duck in the village has a great reputation for good food. I am glad that you enjoyed the peace and quiet. I look forward to your return stay. T.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2024

We were greeted upon arrival. It was explained that we could have a look around and choose a numbered pitch, which we would then mark up on the whiteboard. Then there was a quick tour of the facilities, including the honesty shop. Lovely flat pitches. A nice touch is that everyone has access to their own fire pit. Logs and lighters are available from the shop. The owner popped around in the evening and the next morning to check everything was ok. It's good to be able to book just a single night as we are in a van and like to tour and not just park up and stay for the weekend. A great night's sleep was slightly spoiled by the people on the next pitch who were sleeping in a car and decided to start their very noisy diesel engine at 6 am as they were clearly cold. Would stay again if in that region.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind review, Anne. We appreciate you taking the time to write this. It was also interesting to hear your views on staying just for one night. Generally my policy has been a 2/3 night stay during Bank Holiday as everyone could end up staying one night on the Saturday, which would mean that I would have no free pitches for those wishing to stay for the 3 nights. On the basis of your thoughts, I will, in future, always release a few pitches for a one night stay over the Bank Holiday (but maybe not August Bank Holiday!) Certainly, any other time of the year, the pitches are always offered on a one night basis. The second part of your email is more concerning. It is, in my opinion, completely and utterly unacceptable that any camper could think this is 'reasonable' to start their van at that time in the morning. I am sure you would not have liked to have contacted me - but this message is for anyone who might read your review; please always contact me! I am up early and would want to sort this problem out immediately. This is a quiet site; I do not allow music and radios etc for this reason and if any camper becomes aware of someone being inconsiderate - we will sort it immediately. I hear most things but not everything - so campers - please let us know and we will address it straight away. It is completely unacceptable and inconsiderate.

Very nice campsite

Loved the campsite, very quiet and relaxing. 1st outing in our van. Very calm and relaxed. Very quiet.

Very nice site - once found. Well worth the effort though. Warm welcome from the owner and excellent facilities. We had a lovely pitch in the garden area. Will definitely revisit when in Suffolk.

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely review! I can be a little difficult to find which perhaps is both good and bad.... It means that I am off the beaten track but I know it is frustrating trying to follow the satnav here! I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and the Garden Area is a lovely place too. I look forward to welcoming you back. Thank you again.

Quiet with lots of little extras to make the stay super

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Just 2 nights here on my own and felt very comfortable and welcome. I liked the availability of some fridge space and a kettle. Although I didn't use the microwave and toaster, I am sure I would have done if I had stayed longer. I made good use of the little reading / puzzle room, very comfy. Showers were good and hot and clean. So many little touches that helped - use of a hairdryer, washing up liquid if you forget your own. Use of crockery and charging point for a phone. Little honesty shop was marvellous, bits of everything in there. Again, although I didn't use them, there were BBQ places next to each camping pitch, which would be so handy. Local pub, The Duck, was very good and had very good food.

Site's response

Thank you for you lovely review and kind words. I am so pleased that as a single traveller that you felt safe and comfortable here - that is very important to me. I am not a camper myself (!) but I try to think about what I might need if I was! And maybe that is why there are so many things on site because I like my little luxuries! The Duck is very good and very popular and I know that guests love to walk across the field at night to have a meal and drink - and then to walk home again later. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review and I look forward to welcoming you back. T :)

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Lovely small, well maintained campsite within easy travelling distance of the coast, Aldeburgh, Sizewell, Orford Ness. Lots of great walking nearby. Site itself has clean and well maintained facilities, plus use of microwave, kettle, and fridge freezer. Spacious pitches on level grass site. Although above average per night cost, well worth the extra.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind words - I really appreciate this. I know the location here is good for all those places mentioned, whilst being 'away from it all' at the same time. I do take pride in my site and my brother keeps the site well maintained with constant grass cutting whilst I keep it clean! I like to offer all those extras to make campers stay enjoyable here. I felt that I kept in line with other campsites offering what I do - but maybe my rates are a little higher but this is because I offer extras at no extra cost. I look forward to welcoming you back next time you are in Suffolk. T :)

A top quality campsite with first class facilities including showers, toilets, info/library and an honesty shop. The communal space is a great touch during the thunderstorms we had as everyone hung out there. What a lovely touch that is!

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely review - I really appreciate your kind words. "A top quality campsite with first class facilities!" - they were wonderful words!! I love my new communal space and I enjoyed seeing it being used during the thunderstorms...I am thinking about getting some really comfortable garden chairs in there next year - but I don't expect anyone will ever want to leave it! Thank you again for your kind review and please come back soon! T:)

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesJul 2023

The price for one night for a small tent was excessive given how basic it was. Otherwise great.

Site's response

Mmmm, a slightly conflicting review perhaps? I certainly do not think I am 'basic'. Basic surely is just a field? I have a shower block, kitchen area with full use of crockery and cutlery, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, an honesty shop, firepits with wood available on site, reading room, wi-fi. However, I appreciate that you have also said that it was a good site and 'great'. I assume you came with a car so you would have needed a standard pitch. I do have two cheaper pitches but they are only available without a car. If you didn't have a car, then I think those solo pitches were already taken.
