Vessons Camping has just 25 private and well spaced pitches within 80 acres of Shropshire countryside. It's the perfect welcoming place to relax - with a laidback approach and few rules. Neighbours are far away and unlikely to bother you! Lovely country views are available from this base in the Shropshire Hills and it's only 30 mins drive to Shrewsbury or an hour to charming Ludlow. Pub within a five minute drive, too.

Lovely setting for a couple of nights camping. Nigel was a great host, delivered our fire logs and water to us, and made sure we had everything we needed. The campsite location is gorgeous and private, yet with a toilet and water facilities, and lovely walks straight from the camp. We had a fabulous weekend and would recommend this to anyone who wants a nearly wild camping experience in fabulous scenery!

For anyone wanting total peace and quiet in beautiful countryside, this site is perfect. Our pitch had views to die for and we woke up to the sun rising in the east - perfect π We were in a camper van with our own facilities but there was a portaloo at the bottom of the field if needed and the owner, Nigel came around in a morning to fetch you clean drinking water. Although Nigel did take our bagged up rubbish, we think it would be a good idea to have a bin, perhaps near the portaloo, for people to use.

If you want very basic facilities in a farmer's field with no one around and fantastic views away from everything, it's perfect

Thank you for your kind words which are an accurate description of the experience we offer. I would add that we also provide an excellent service which is confirmed by the 4 stars given. I am not sure why you only gave us 3 out of 5 stars overall as the facilities we offer are clearly described on our listing. They are basically Portaloos kept very clean and with a water supply. Most of our guests love the space, peace, privacy and tranquillity found here.

Fantastic weekend break at Vessons. Have faith following the directions and signage as you leave the public highway and travel up a gravel track to the campsite- its worth it. Pitched on the top field with great views and convenient access to a public right of way leading off to the Stiperstones, a short distance away. Portable toilet facilities but fine if you are after a remote/nearly wild camping experience, loads of wild life including Red Kites. Enjoyed the whole campsite to myself on the second day. Nigel the host really helpful, give him your support in the beautiful Shropshire AONB.

Enjoyed stunning views from top field back towards the Long Mynd, Wrekin, Shropshire and beyond. Had a walk either way along the bridleway from the top field for more sights and scenery including vast areas of bluebells in the woods to the left.
