About the site

Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Peak District/Staffordshire Moorlands area from the Waterslacks camping barn onsite, and start planning your daytrips to the Peaks. Waterslacks camping barn is the site's largest accommodation. Sleeping 15, it benefits from spectacular views over the Manifold Valley and includes three sleeping platforms. Guests should bring their own mattress and sleeping bag - two platforms are curtained off for privacy. It is heated by electric blow heaters and quartz heaters in the main room, a blow heater and quartz heater in the kitchen, and a wall mounted towel rail in the shower room. There are also two tables and stools for socialising in the evening if it's too wet to sit outside. There is a separate kitchen, with sink and hot water, fridge, kettle and toaster. Two picnic benches are located outside for alfresco dining. Guests need to bring their own camping stove and cooking utensils, plates and mugs for their stay. There is a shower and toilet room off the kitchen area. The outside space offers you a lawn area and a camp-fire area, though guests need to supply their own fire wood. There is ample parking for approximately eight cars in the parking area, located at the entrance to the track before you walk to the barn. Sleeping up to six, Wills Barn is a bunk barn which includes bedding and a wood burning stove. The site also has two self catering holiday cottages. Sorry, no pets allowed in Wills barn and any pets at Waterslacks barn are to be requested.

We would not suggest infants/toddlers staying at either of the barns due to stone steps and the log burner in Wills Barn but we are happy to have a discussion with any guests to see if it is suitable.

We would ask that guests are respectful to keeping noise levels down after 10pm, as sound travels and we don't want to upset our neighbours.

We ask that you don't arrive before the arrival time and to depart at the departure time.

Please leave all the properties as you found them, all items used to be put away and all rubbish should be removed from the properties and placed in the rubbish bins provided, we ask that no large items of equipment is left for us to dispose of, eg, camping chairs, camp mattresses as this is a trip to the local tip for us and would be charged on your damage deposit.

The area is known for plenty of country walks which can be enjoyed direct from the doorstep. Thors Cave in the Manifold Valley is just a 25 minute walk from the farm.

If you're feeling peckish, the Wetton Mill Cafe is located at the bottom of Wetton Road and serves a variety of sweet and savoury treats.

The closest town to the site is Leek, 10 minutes away, which offers a local market on Wednesdays, takeaway services, four supermarkets and petrol station.

Fancy a tipple? There are numerous local pubs within a ten minute drive including The Manifold Inn at Hulme End, Jervis Arms in Onecote and the Old Royal Oak in Wetton.

Hartington is a 12 minutes drive where you'll find its famed Old Cheese Shop, village stores and a local café.
