Clean, friendly and picture perfect. We had a wonderful visit and wouldn’t hesitate to return if this way again.
Pricey and disorganised

The site is in a convenient location close to Glasgow, but still feels like you are away from it all. Found it a bit disorganised. itches weren't numbered or assigned, bit of a free for all. We witnessed people taking pitches where people had nipped away for a couple of hours. Food was nice enough but very overpriced.
Wonderful place, recommend and will stay again

A really lovely stay, we had the bell tent and it was very clean and with 2 double airbeds with pillow and duvet included. The beds were very comfortable. You can park your car by the tent and there is an area for campfires nearby. The free breakfast is great, cereals/fruit/toast and tea or coffee. The kettle is available all day and we could charge our phones in the house. A really easy going atmosphere from the staff and no stress checking in or out. Accessible by car or public transport. Friendly environment on campsite, nice mix between families, hikers, tourists and vans. I'd highly recommend and will be staying again myself :)

Nice place, but too few sanitary facilities. Waiting time to go to the toilet. (Translated from German).

The site was well maintained and in a lovely remote area. Although out the way, seemed a lot of traffic throughout the stay. There didn't seem to be enough facilities for the amount of people staying, loos often had no toilet roll in and quite a wait for a shower. The showers were clean and very good with a nice temperature though.
Our view of the Campsie Mountains was amazing

We had a nice time at the campsite. Andrew, the owner, made sure everyone had a good time. He really doesn't like noisy guests. Fantastic, even we don't like that. Once we got used to the very basic breakfast, we were able to enjoy it. Some more hanging hooks in the small bathrooms would be useful, and a broom or squeegee to clean everything after a shower. Our view of the Campsie Mountains was amazing. A beautiful sunset every evening. Awesome.
Disappointing, noisy, disorganised and lack of facilities

The standard of facilities is poor. Showers had hot water but cubicles and toilets were dirty. Dishwashing had an outside cold tap. Pitches aren't allocated so was a bit of a 'free for all'. I parked up (as directed by owner of site) and 30 mins a later, was intimidated out of the space by a couple in a camper who arrived and said they wanted the pitch because they were there last night. Second night, disturbed by screaming and whooping between 2-5am and a recovery vehicle, which had its engine running for 2 hours. Transpires the site supports vanlifers. The site has evolved to take paying guests who essentially fund these, but standards haven't developed. A great place to stay for free if you are a vanlifer, but definitely not the pleasant experience I'd be expecting for £32 per night. 'Free' breakfast okay if you like toast and rice crispies. Top tip - allocate spaces to campers - don't leave it for guests to fight amongst themselves.
Stoning setting and cute but the relaxed attitude breeds noise

We came in our motorhome on our way home from the NC500 with our small quiet dog. What a stunning setting and lots of wonderful walking to be had on the doorstep. Charming, welcoming host, we were shown to the EHU area and told to park where we liked. It was a lovely spot over looking the valley and several picnic tables between the pitches. The food window to the kitchen meant you ordered directly from the chef and he sent us off with a buzzer. When the food was ready we could eat indoors or at our van. It wasn't cheap but it was tasty and we took it to our motorhome. We had a lovely walk with our dog and thought the whole set up was perfect. However, we went to bed about 11pm. We were awoken at 1am by a car that had pulled up immediately behind our van and a group of people were banging car doors and talking loudly, after half an hour of this I went out to ask them to be quiet. They looked at me like they thought I was mad but soon got in their car and drove off. Then at about 2am, a motorhome arrived and set up camp right next to us, about 4ft from us. They then proceeded to set up camp very noisily and chatter for about 45 minutes. Finally quiet by 2:45am, we were then awoken at 4:11am by, what I assume was the campsite owners dog barking loudly for approximately an hour. We and the 2 other motorhomes parked in the area (not the middle of the night arrivals) all got up and left by 8:30am as the visit was tainted. There appeared to be no campsite staff about. I'm not sure if there are no staff on duty through the night or how they didn't hear and quieten the dog. I feel sorry for those closer or in tents. I think the relaxed attitude to late arrival (until midnight) is unfair on campers who are awoken and disturbed by them. Most campsites have a 8pm arrival cut-off or a late arrival area (which could be easily done at the EHU nearest the entrance. Just buy a gate, ask people to be quiet after 10:30pm and to arrive by 8pm.) I feel it would make everyone's experience better. Have a staff member around through the night to quieten the dog! Also, there was a lot of dog poo around, quite probably from (the owners?) Labradors that were wandering loose.

Took my little girl camping for the first time, she absolutely loved it. We did 2 nights, took our own tent and pitched it in a lovely wee spot. The staff are so friendly and the views are amazing. There's plenty of fire wood for a fire and the burgers are awesome! Will deffo be back in the next few weeks for another adventure, thanks again.

A lovely site with facilities for campervans and tents. The views are beautiful. Andrew was very friendly, he explained the site to me when I arrived. It has included breakfast and you can also purchase dinner. The site was also a convenient 30min drive to Glasgow. I highly recommend!

I was taking my daughter a long requested night camping. Couldn't have been in a better site. Andrew welcomed us on arrival. He was friendly and not over bearing. Seemed like an interesting guy. Site well laid out. We pitched in the 'wild' section. We were welcome to have a campfire and generally felt at home. Facilities obviously a labour of love and were clean. We did a lovely long walk and goes without saying, access to the West Highland Way - 10/10. We had a bit of a noisy family next to us, just the way it goes, child was shouting and playing after 11am. Fine for us, but felt bad for the people getting up early to hike. Just your luck with who's at the site with you. Everyone else was super friendly and interesting. We chatted to a few visitors with interesting stories which was nice. Bottom line - good value for money. Good facilities, caring owner and lots of fun. Don't hesitate.

We loved the location and views of the site, it was the first time taking our van instead of just a tent and couldn't have asked for a better pitch. The site was friendly, not too big and the included breakfast was a nice touch. We felt the only downside was the facilities. Queued for a shower for some time in the rain as they are just single cubicles leading outside, rather than an actual shower block. One of the showers is a wet room style so the floor was filthy where shower water had mixed with dirt from the shoes of people using the toilet, there was nowhere to hang anything and getting dressed without soaking your clothes was very difficult. Water was not, but shower pressure was poor - there is no way I could've washed my hair in it. For this reason, I'd probably only recommend to stay in a camper/caravan with your own facilities.

Glad I picked this campsite for my mid-week escape as, upon arrival, it gives a feeling of being in a woodland retreat with magnificent views across the countryside. With no heavy traffic passing the campsite; it helps to keep the tranquillity of the site where you can enjoy the countryside at its best and helps promote a safe environment. The Club House is steeped in history but offers all the modern facilities you would ever need from a campsite. I was really impressed at the food from the kitchen. I had the burger and chips and it didn't look like something you would get from any other fast food outlet. The burger was a 'proper' burger and stood tall and not dried out in the bun, with the freshly cooked chips and side salad. Plenty of tea and coffee is available (I think free of charge!) There's plenty of space around the campsite and from what I saw, they offer numerous bell tents to rent, although with additional space for those with their own tents. I like the idea of having caravan/motorhome/campervan pitches that are slotted between the trees and having hard ground to stand on. There were additional pitches past the Club House which could take tents/caravans/motorhomes/campers. I had filled up before arriving with fresh water in my underslung tanks, so didn't use their facilities, nor did I have waste water, but one would presume they're adequate to meet the needs of campers. Staff were friendly, happy and assisted where ever they could. The campsite location provides an excellent place to stay, whether you've set yourself a challenge to complete the West Highland Way and you're transmitting through or like me, a day walker seeking a good walk-out returning for food and rest.

Amazing location. Using the All Trails app, we found a walk 2 minutes on foot from the campsite. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. The site was very relaxed with dogs which is good because we have three. Free tea and coffee and breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. The staff were very helpful, along with the vanlifers, but they also left you to it.

Excellent campsite. Friendly and welcoming host. Campers can use the lodge for a cosy evening in and the booking comes with a free breakfast, and coffee, tea and hot chocolate whenever you want. Highly recommended and will definitely revisit.

Really friendly host with four amazing dogs. Nice spacious campspace with all the facilities you require. Even a breakfast is served every morning. You can spend the evening in the mansion where it is possible to get a good meal in the evening.
