An ideal waterside setting by the River Ouse, The Riverfront York is a family and dog friendly touring park, just ten minutes from York. Campervans, caravans, and motorhomes are all welcome on the electric hardstanding pitches, with a range of glamping too. Onsite you can even hire boats, with a play park and beauty treatments available too. For grabbing a tasty bite to eat, there is also a restaurant, cafe and seasonal pizza oven!

Well situated site. Clean, quiet and beautiful facilities. Great area, local to a lovely chippy and shops. Ideal for buses to York. Will be back.

We were met by the very smiley Jimmy on arrival, who was very helpful. We were directed to our pitch and we settled in. We ate in the Bosun's restaurant on the first night, which was fabulous. A great site, perfect location and have already rebooked.

Lovely scenic site on the river. Lovely resteraunt too. Not the cheapest site, but worth it. Could do with more basins in the facilities area. A clean site, but the stand pipes for water need drains as the grass ends up muddy when you use them.

What a gorgeous and clean place this is. Lots to do, with a lovely restaurant on site right near the water. A peaceful and calm place, we will definitely come again.

My stay at riverfront camper site York

I must say that I was very impressed with the camp site, well laid out and very clean. It's an hour walk into York or you can catch the number 11 bus which will take you to a train station in the city centre, the bus stop is in the village. There is a café on site that sells hot food and drink, you can sit and watch boats go by. In the village there are three pubs that sell food and all are good, they are 5 mins from the site and there is a food shop.

The manager came out to see us as we arrived and showed us to our pitch, they explained where all the facilities were. A great location for us and an easy walk to the centre of York along the river bank. A great restaurant and river side café.

Absolutely fantastic, we loved watching the boats going up and down the river. It could do with some more lights set up, say some standard lights, but overall good.

Everything was excellent and we can't wait to return. The toilets and showers spotless, the restaurant and café was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the restaurant. The food from the café was fresh & tasty. The site was very clean with excellent facilities.

We were disappointed that there is no one on site for check in or any problems. The toilets weren't very clean and we felt vulnerable with no barrier and 24 hour access for cars.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience fell short of your expectations. At The Riverfront York we operate a self-check-in process where all site information is provided in the welcome email sent before our customers arrive to site and there is a telephone number for any onsite enquiries at all times. Your concerns regarding the cleanliness of the toilets and security are taken seriously, and we already have plans in place to address them. We're excited to share that we will be undertaking a full renovation of the toilet and shower block this winter in readiness for our guests in 2025. Additionally, we will be installing a security barrier to the caravan & motorhome park in readiness for the 2025 season. We are committed to improving our services, and your feedback helps us understand where we can make necessary changes.

Great location and fantastic river views and idyllic location. It's close to two Park & Ride stations for busses into York and very close to the road network, to explore North York's coast. All in all, great location. The pitches are level, they're very neat and tidy. Not all the fully serviced pitches have both the water and electricity feeds adjacent to the pitch and the pitches are not very long. I only have a small two berth caravan, the back was touching the hedge and the tow hitch was sticking out into the road way. There was no room to park your car next to your pitch. It creates too much of an obstruction in the roadway. I can not comment on the staff as I did not see any. If you like privacy this is the site for you. The toilet block is not sufficient when the site is full. The problem is exaggerated because any walkers and cyclists passing by are given the access codes to the toilet and shower block, so in essence the toilets are public and not for the exclusive use of the people paying for the use of them. A real problem at weekends. There is a public walking path that goes right through the site. Those are the negatives, but I must say I would definitely go back because the positives out weigh the negatives in my opinion. If these problems were sorted, I would say this site is one of the best I have visited. Quick note, in extreme rainy weather keep an eye on the national flood alerts. We have all seen York in the news when it comes to flooding. You are right on the river..

We note your comments regarding the toilet and shower block facilities onsite. Since our owners acquired the site late last year, they have commenced an extensive refurbishment programme throughout the entire site. The toilet and shower facilities were improved before the current season and are now cleaned more regularly. However, they are yet to be fully renovated. This work is scheduled to take place during the coming winter period, in readiness for our guests in 2025 and will include extended toilet facilities for those visitors that are not staying onsite. We look forward to welcoming you back again.

Booked in for a weekend away to go to the theatre in York with my children. Lovely quiet site but the children didn't feel awkward. Lovely pizza and bacon sandwiches eaten by the river on Saturday night and Sunday morning respectively. Will be back.

We liked the contactless arrival and found everything we needed really easily. I had a facial at the salon, I felt that Lauren was so incredibly professional and lovely. Her salon was pristine and priced just right. We ate at the Bosun restaurant on Thursday evening and were truly impressed with the menu choices and the accompanying house red was fantastic. We will definitely be returning guests to the Riverfront Campsite and intend to make full use of their facilities in the future.

Stayed for two nights in our motorhome, very peaceful site right on the riverside. Weather wasn't too good but that didn't spoil our break. Lovely little village, a short walk away. Had pizzas from Bosuns oven, which were lovely. Tried to book the restaurant but we had our little dog with us so we were unable to go. Site is immaculate, showers looking quite tired but the owners are planning on renovating these soon. Once these are updated, this will be a 5 star site that'll be hard to beat. We'll definitely be back!

Just arrived home from this really great site. Be aware they don't have a reception but there are people about to help and they are lovely. The site has had a revamp, from what has been said. Shower block lovely and heated. Showers have a basket for putting your gel and things in, very uncommon for sites but no stool or bench to sit on to dry your feet. Very convenient for walks and nearby bus service into York. Café on site, good restaurant next to site Bosun, not tried but looked expensive. Pubs in the village very friendly and Ebor served nice food. Be aware they all stop serving food at 4pm on a Sunday.

Lovely setting. Quite busy but peaceful all the same. Nice pitches and online check-in is good. Thought the café and pizza place was a little on the pricey side but the food that we tried was good. Good vibe to the place.
