This place was a wonderful find. As a large family, with an extra large tent and 2 cars, we have never been allowed as much space at any other campsite. The facilities were very clean. There was even communal fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. The fire pits and BBQ's are allowed on site, it's dog friendly and there was loads of space for the kids to play. We would definitely recommend this site to others.

Lovely site to stay on, was able to hire a fire pit of the night. The showers/toilets were clean and a good size. Would definitely recommend this site to family and friends. Staff and dog were lovely!

Everything about this site was superb. The facilities were outstanding. The service was first class. It’s very peaceful despite its size. Allocated plots. Staff took you to the plot. Explained the site. We will definitely be back. There were problems with the electric but they were on it straightaway and kept us posted about what was happening. It also has WiFi.

Well, having arrived and then the van gave up so had to be towed to the pitch. Now waiting for a low loader to recover the van. The couple who run the site couldn't be any more helpful and understanding. Definitely will be back once the van is fixed.

Fantastic stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the on-site services are great and our cabin (Kestrel) was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids, even on a rainy day when we had to stay in and play Monopoly! The hot tub was the star of the show for all of us, but the whole stay was top tier.
Quiet and remote, with a great pub to drive to

Great stay. Would like to visit again during the summer months. Great campervan pitches. Great walk on Caldbeck Common and by the river at Whelpo (2 hours or so). Lovely meal at the Oddfellows Arms, a little drive into Keswick. Very quiet area.

We were originally looking for a cottage with a hot tub, but couldn't find a dog friendly one so we came across this by accident, but so glad we did. Large pitches. Friendly staff. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Booked to go back in September. Best bit was the hot tub, just the right temperature.

For an 18 and 19 year old couple coming to the site, I felt a little shy as we are a young couple. The person who greeted me and said where to go etc spoke to me kindly and with passion, making me feel welcome. The stay was fabulous. Hot tub was clean and inside the cabin felt warm and homely. One downside I will put on the cleanliness is the cobwebs above the bed, in the corners and near the door. Apart from that, it was a fabulous stay with a shop available on the grounds. There were no noises and everyone was respectful to the noise rules. One piece of advise is to maybe put markers around the centre grass island saying 'cars will get stuck if driven on' or 'don't go on grass due to soft ground' as I accidentally went on the grass and got stuck, but that was my bad 😣 Sorry for any inconvenience! Thank you for the stay and I will definitely be coming back.

Couldn't fault the welcome, the friendliness, the facilities and the great area for letting the dogs run around. The only problem was one of our own making. We forgot to pack the wellies! Highly recommended.

We only stayed here as a stopover on our way to Scotland, but we were really impressed with the friendly staff, the clean facilities and the size of the pitches. It seemed in quite a remote place and although we didn't explore, I believe there were plenty of walks around the campsite. We'd love to go back to explore the area more.
