About Sykeside Camping Park

Set in the heart of the Dovedale Valley surrounded by Dove Crag, Hart Crag and Fairfield with Brotherswater only a 15 minute walk away, this site is well located for an outdoor adventure in the Lake District. Offering stunning views from your pitch or pod, this site is a favourite with adventurous families, walkers, climbers and ramblers. The site offers non electric grass pitches for tents and various hardstanding pitches for campervans, motorhomes and caravans, all with electric hook ups and some allowing awnings. The site also has three cosy, dog friendly camping pods to save you the hassle of pitching a tent, sleeping up to two adults and three children. The pods are unfurnished, so you will still need to bring all of your camping gear, but there is lighting, underfloor heating, and electric sockets with USB ports. There are also five electric hardstanding pitches that are exclusively for Caravan and Motorhome Club members. The 'bunkhouse' offers rooms for two to six people, ideal for families and large groups. You will also have access to basic cooking facilities, storage facilities, a private toilet and shared showers. Centrally located in the Lake District you will be just 20 minutes from both Windermere and Ullswater, great for mooching around charming villages or a day spent on a boat or hiring a paddleboard! Or head out on a hike with miles of trails all around you. The site is dog-friendly, however, staff ask that dogs are kept on a lead and under control to protect local sheep. Also, please note that groups of more than six adults are not permitted. Campfires are allowed as long as they are in a raised fire pit. These must be extinguished by 11pm. Group bookings of more than six adults are not accepted.

Sykeside Camping Park is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesOct 2024

It was the first time me and my partner had stayed at this site but loved every minute of it. The views and location are breath-taking and it is relatively easy to access. The shop on site is stocked with almost anything you could need. The bathrooms were always very tidy and very warm, which was important to us because of the cold weather. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, especially when we had car troubles. There are many great walks just off the site and we didn't need to use our car during our stay. Would definitely recommend.
