About Stubcroft Farm Campsite

Located on a working sheep farm, the site is close to some of the South Coast's best sandy beaches and the South Downs National Park. The park is ideally located for days at the seaside or exploring nearby Chichester, just a 20 minute drive away. For those just bringing a small or backpacker tent, the site has nine non electric grass pitches available, each allowing up to three people. These pitches are perfect for those stopping over on a walking holiday. The rest of the grass pitches come with the option of an electric hook up, welcoming tents, caravans and campervans. There are a total of 35 standard pitches which allow up to six guests and units of up to 5m in length, 13 large grass pitches which allow up to ten guests and units of up to 7m in length and 36 extra large pitches which allow up to six guests and units of up to 8m. For caravans and campervans up to 8m in length, there are also 20 large all weather hardstanding pitches, great for any season. Each of these pitches comes with an optional electric hook up, along with having a water point on or near your pitch. Please note that cars are not permitted on the pitches unless you are a blue badge holder. The pitches are sheltered by trees and hedges to provide shade and shelter, ideal for the warm summer months. These are kept wild to encourage wildlife and wildflowers to flourish, this area of the site is not lit due to the dark skies policy which benefits nocturnal wildlife. The entrance and facility block are well lit. The peaceful private lanes and grounds surrounding the farm make it an ideal holiday for families and couples wishing to escape the pressures of modern life. It is advised to use the main access lane to enter the site rather than the two farm lanes which are better for walking into the village. The park has previously won many awards including a Quality in Tourism 4 star rating, Green Tourism's Gold Award, a Sustainability Award for Small Businesses in the South East and several "Beautiful South" awards including a Gold for Responsible, Ethical and Sustainable Tourism, Gold for Access and Inclusivity and three Gold Awards for Camping, Caravanning and Holiday Park of the Year. The farm also permits campfires and BBQs, great for evenings in the open. You may bring your own or hire from reception when you arrive, with food available to purchase from the onsite shop. Please note, that the shop has limited opening hours between October and March and is only open by request. Four legged friends are welcome too, so don't forget to pack the dog biscuits!

Stubcroft Farm Campsite is open all year round.

A note from the site themselves...

Our site is sustainable and environmentally friendly. We are a family farm and we have made sure the campsite is run in keeping with that ethos. Wherever possible we will use Fairtrade and Organic produce and work hard to keep the grounds and the surrounding fields a suitable habitat for wildlife.

In our time here, we have planted new conservation hedges and trees to provide more shelter and privacy to provide as much peace and quiet for campers as possible. There is also a wealth of wildlife on the farm with over 72 species of birds identified, along with deer, hedgehogs, foxes, rabbits, rare butterflies, moths and much more!

VW-Type Campervan - XL Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

A staggeringly good stay at Stubcroft Farm. This was our first trip in our minivan and Stubcroft proved a perfect location for a shakedown. From the beginning to the end, our brief stay was perfect. Lovely pitches, close to beaches and amenities. Brilliant staff. The facilities were never short of spotless, they were always on hand if any help was needed. We fully intend to return, thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Lovely site!

FAQ

Yes, the site offers a warm welcome to all responsible dog owners. However, the site does not allow any dog on the Dangerous Dogs list or any aggressive dogs that are likely to pose a threat to children, campers or livestock. While on the campsite and around the farmyard, dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and any mess should be cleaned up immediately. For dog walkers, there are private lanes nearby that are traffic-free and lead to the beaches.

Yes, you can. Guests can conveniently charge their mobile phones, tablets, and rechargeable batteries for lanterns, among others, using the coin-operated mobile phone charging lockers available in the main amenity block. These lockers are designed to accommodate such devices, and what's more, 50% of the revenue generated from them goes to charities, making it a worthwhile cause. For larger laptops, guests can make arrangements at the reception to have them charged, ensuring that all their devices are powered up and ready to go.

Yes, the site does allow campfires and BBQs. Please note, these are subject to certain safety conditions. Barbecues and campfires are allowed in suitable steel containers only, set at least 18-24 inches (60cm) off the ground so they do not damage or burn the grass and at least 3m from hedges, tents or cars. You may bring your own BBQ or firepit providing they comply, or you can hire one from reception.

Yes! Stubcroft Farm Campsite offers an onsite shop that sells a range of groceries and fresh produce, including milk, bread, pastries, cheese, fresh juices, confectionery, locally produced sausages, bacon, steaks, chicken, and BBQ produce, among others. The shop also stocks a comprehensive range of camping accessories, including tent pegs, gas, cooking items, torches, batteries, and sleeping bags. Essential chemist products, such as headache, indigestion, hay fever tablets, and sanitary products, are also available. However, in the winter months the shop is only open upon request and only serves non perishable goods and camping essentials.

Yes, there is limited free WiFi around the reception and patio café area.

There is a long gravel farm track off of Tile Barn Lane that takes you straight to the campsite. There are two other paths that are not suitable for vehicles, so follow the directions rather than your SatNav!

The site hires out fire pits and BBQs and even sells marshmallows and toasting sticks together with logs, kindling, locally produced sausages, beefburgers and much more, so a campfire cook-out should definitely be on the menu!

The site is located in a place known as God's Pocket (thanks to its excellent sunshine) with the nearest sandy beach is a 20 minute walk or less than a five minute drive from the campsite. You'll love the mild climate!

Also nearby are the famous East Head and sand dunes at West Wittering (15 minutes). Here you will find 50 acres of sand dunes which are perfect for sunbathing, beach picnics and chilling out. The area is great for windsurfing, fishing, boating, building sandcastles and all beach activities.
