Just ten minutes from the Lake District, Estuary View Escapes enjoys uninterrupted views over the Duddon Estuary. Motorhomes can park up on one of the five non electric gravel pitches, great for a stop over. Spend days exploring the Cumbria coastline and evenings cooking up a BBQ as you watch the sunset over the horizon. Millom is also a five minute drive away with all your essentials, including a train station.

This was our 2nd stay here and we will be back. We love how peaceful, welcoming, beautiful views, what more do you want? We even put the van tent up this time and it is fine in the gravel, just need good pegs. My husband enjoyed fishing, which you can do straight in front of your van. The beach is just a 5 min walk away. We had some lovely days out in the villages close by, such as Bootle, Kirksanton. We visited Coniston, Muncaster Castle. If you love great views and walks and history you will love it. Proper camping experience. Louise is extremely helpful.

Lovely peaceful site. Very clean and tidy. Basic, but had all the facilities you need with a motorhome. Large, quiet beach nearby which was great for the dog. Short walk into Millom along the coastal path to dog friendly pub. Owner Louise very friendly, helpful and informative about the area. Will certainly visit again soon.

I booked this the day before for myself and my 2 kids. We were really looking forward to our first stay away in the van. Me probably more than them, as I've overseen the conversion of a VW T28 and finally the time had come to put it into action. A swift response from Louise, who runs the site, by text message, welcomed our booking and provided the gate access code. With all the gear and no idea, I was a bit nervous and wanted to ease into this new way of life. Really didn't want a crowded site with onlookers for my own ego and also didn't want the kids thinking I was as clueless as I predicted. This place ticked the box in so many ways and more. Our first trip away was always going to be memorable, but the location added to this fully. On the edge of an estuary and with no vehicle noise, this place is a wildlife haven and was bliss. The kids walked down to the beach with the dog as I set out the awning and we got into the swing of things. We utilised the picnic bench for our meal and we enjoyed watching the variety of birds feeding on the sands and the waters edge as we witnessed a tide or two come and go. I love estuaries as there's so much going on and I awoke early to view the sunrise over the hills on the far side of the water and the tide came in once more covering over the sandbanks. It felt like I did when I did my first parachute jump an instant addiction to the thrill experienced. I've given a 4 for facilities as there is only a toilet but it was all we needed and I'm not fussed for an overnight stay. Must say for a portaloo, it was equipped well with plenty of everything including wipes and air fresheners. A brilliant little break which we will repeat to this site again in the future definitely. Louise who runs the site is on hand a minute away and I had the pleasure of speaking with her husband. They have only set up recently but are passionate about ensuring it will remain a peaceful site and amazingly enough don't want the great numbers other sites I've heard are cramming in. There's plans over winter to add a shower facility. A little gem which I feel fortunate to have found.

I booked this site last minute and wasn't sure what to expect, but from the get-go communication from Louise was excellent and accommodating. On arrival, I was met by Louise who was informative and helpful. The site itself is basic but suited our needs as we like a bit of peace and no fuss. There are water outlets and a portaloo, which was probably the cleanest I have ever set foot in. There was plenty of room to site ourselves with beautiful views over the estuary and distant hills. There is a short walk to the beach which is very quiet. In the other direction, it is probably a fifteen minute walk to the town where there are plenty of shops, takeaways, bakery, coffee shop and a tesco for any essentials needed. I think that about sums it up. We enjoyed our stay, thank you.

After a last minute decision to come to the Lake District, we eventually found this site. Small, basic, clean but what an amazing location. The owner's communication was amazing and they were incredibly welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again.
