Amazing site and facilities, they have thought of everything! The only thing I would change is for there to be some advice that the pitches are on an angle so we could have been prepared with additional leveller, ramp etc. This is only our 4th site we have been to and have never needed anything to level the van.
Beautiful spot

A wonderful stay on a peaceful site, in beautiful surroundings. They have literally thought of everything here to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We ordered pizzas one evening and breakfast baps, all delivered to the door and delicious. Some lovely walks from the site and we really enjoyed the sauna. Great staff who are doing a brilliant job of keeping the site clean.

Every pitch will need chocks or risers, otherwise good. Pizza & breakfast delivery to pitch was excellent. Could do with less alcohol in shop and more basics like milk! Also, a small range of accessories would have been helpful. Dog facilities were excellent and the staff were fantastic - so helpful. Very quiet site even when almost full.

Very nice site, very clean but some lights were out around the bins which made recycling difficult at night. We has pitch 19, which was great, but everyone used it to cut through to the WC block which was rude and annoying. From pitch 19, there was no path to the WC, so had to walk over muddy grass. Nice walk to village, all downhill there, but uphill back up a fairly busy road but worth it just for the views and the cafe.
Perfect!

If this site was located nearer to the village of Longnor, say a ten minute walk, it would be absolutely amazing. The views are stunning. The facilities for our dog Baxter were superb, he had the time of his life. The wardens were amazing.
Site's response
Thank you for this great review. Yes, having the facilities of the village closer would be useful, but it also means we are very quiet and tranquil being a bit further out. I am glad that Baxter had such a good time. I am pleased that you liked the views and found the wardens helpful. Hopefully we will see you again in the future.

A lovely site, with very clean facilities. There is a shop on site for some essentials. The site is located near a village that has 2 pubs, a chip shop, along with a village shop . On site is an enclosed dog field, with stunning views of the country side.

Thank you for this great review. I am pleased that you liked the site and found the facilities clean. Our dog walk is very popular with both our two and four legged guests. Hopefully we can welcome you again in the future.

Just got back from our 5 night camping trip. What an amazing site this is! Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the site itself was beautiful and well thought out. The facilities were 5 star and the washrooms/ showers were excellent and amazingly clean! The scenery from the wonderful dog paddock was to die for, such peace and tranquillity too. Very central to Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne, Castleton, Hope Valley and Buxton. Longnor village was lovely, with an excellent fish and chip shop and general store. Will certainly be recommending to friends and family and will certainly be back! Only downside was that it was all card only and we only had cash with us, but despite that, we had an excellent stay.
Site's response
Thank you for this fantastic review. I am glad that you found the facilities clean and the staff helpful. We are very lucky with our Peak District location and the views that provides us. Being card only keeps the accountants happy and means we don't have to find a bank branch that is actually open! Now you know about our card only policy, hopefully it won't be an issue if you decide to come and visit us again.

Fantastic site, clean and tidy, great to have a decent sized dog walking field to let my Irish setter have room to run. It is a quiet site and very clean. Being only 30 minutes from home we will be coming back. And the sun even shined.

First time visiting this site and all we can say is 'wonderful'. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the site is spotlessly clean and tidy. Facilities are spot on and the location is perfect. Rosie (the dog) particularly loved the dedicated dog field so she could run free - oh - and watching the rabbits. The site was peaceful and just what we needed to chill and relax for a few days. Already planning our next stay here.

Greeted upon our arrival and taken personally to our pitch. James was very informative regarding reception opening times, the dog walking area, gym, sauna and the no noise after 11pm policy. Longnor had everything we wanted for a short break and the surrounding countryside was breath-taking. We would definitely recommend Longhorn, a real gem.

Well kept site. I appreciated the private single ladies loos! Much better than the usual stalls available in most places. Towing the van was a bit hair raising on some of the bends going up hill on way in, but particularly our outward journey, but it was worth it for the views and peace. A few noisy dogs at times but in the whole, quiet and laid back. Very clean.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. I am glad you found the site quiet and clean. We are very lucky to be in the Peak District National Park, but that does generally mean some windy roads.

Nice, quiet site, ideally located for travelling around the Peak District. Never used the sauna or gym, but all the toilet facilities were very good, nice and clean. Staff were very helpful when we had an issue unhitching caravan. Dog field was a good size so they could have a proper run around. Have nothing negative to say about the site and would definitely recommend.

A very well run site, with excellent facilities. Very clean and well maintained toilet/shower block. Very quiet and peaceful location, but not too far to Buxton and Bakewell. Lovely pubs with great food, just a short drive away. Would definitely be back, and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for a week end of May. The campsite was in a very rural location so very quiet (apart from a few planes landing at Manchester haha) plenty of wildlife roaming about and been adults only no screaming kids (bonus). The tent pitches are laid out a bit strange, not the closest to the facilities block and on a slope so when it raining it flowed downhill towards the tent. They do have other pitches near the main caravan part, I would recommend trying to get a pitch here, a bit flatter and closer to the facilities. Facilities block very clean and nicely heated with plenty of showers and toilets! Good shop and brownie points for the vending machine if you fancy a quick hot chocolate! Great location for visiting Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock etc. Would advise to give Buxton market a miss and go to the one in Bakewell instead, about 20 times bigger! Make sure you visit Chatsworth, definitely worth a day out! I would definitely recommend this park but like a said try and get a pitch in the main caravan bit.
Site's response
I am pleased that you liked the quiet location, the cleanliness of the facilities and the abundant wildlife. The field where the tent pitches are has been lowered by about 3ft on one side and raised 4ft on the other, but there is only so much levelling that can be done; as you said there are the pitches on the main field as an alternative. It sounds like you managed to get out and enjoy much of what our location has to offer. Thank you for your review.
