Only our second of three site visits for our first motorhome trip. We booked it for the location in Wales, which was beautiful, despite the rain and mud. Basic site (compared to the others visited), amenities need some TLC but they were functional.

Thank you for your comments. We are awaiting a brand new shower block which should have been in place the beginning of April, but unfortunately we were let down by the supplier.

Nice pitch. Facilities very good. Near to town, about a mile ish. Horses in the fields, wild birds and ducks etc. A little noise from the main road about half a mile away, but nothing too bad.

Thank you for your kind review, we are so glad you had a nice stay with us.

Basic facilities. Very muddy field that was difficult to park on. Very clean toilet and shower facilities (ladies). Starbucks 7 mins walk away and 25 mins into town.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Sorry about the mud, we have been hit with some typical Welsh weather in the run up to what will hopefully be a sunny summer.

Very nice one night stay at Torrent Walk, with good facilities and a quiet evening, which was ideal as we stayed with our toddler. Nice local walks with the local Starbucks and fuel garage a few minutes walk away. It's also good that the showers are included in the price of your stay, whereas other sites charge extra. Would recommend the site.

We had a hardstanding with electricity, water and a grey drain. Level pitch well sheltered by hedge. Some road noise. Quiet but narrow lane to the site. Excellent clean showers/toilets with plenty of hot water. Nice view from the pitch. We were very happy, we will be back.

Great location, clean facilities and both helpful and friendly staff. The only minor issue we found was the traffic noise, though it’s a trade off for a very accessible site. Great value for money overall, thank you!

The photos of this campsite and the shepherd's hut don't do the place the justice it deserves. It's also incredibly easy to find. There is a Starbucks and a petrol station with shop just before the lane you turn down, which for a coffee addict as myself, was a really welcome. The scenery is beautiful. As you drive to site, you are greeted with rolling hills and field full of curious cows and sheep, then horses. The instructions were spot on. When we reached the hut, we were so happy to find it to be private and dog friendly, you could literally let your dogs off the lead to explore (although if you have dogs that run off, I would recommend keeping a close on eye on them as part of area seems to go on for quite a far bit), but over all its very secure. The huts are small and well equipped. We only stayed 2 nights, but if we stayed longer, I would have taken my garden loungers as there isn't any soft seating, which isn't an issue if like us, you're always out and about. I0f you wanted to spend a day there in the hot tub or having a BBQ, you might find you want something you can lounge on. We love it and would definitely come back.

The place was very good. Extremely supportive staff. I reached post the max check in time, and requested if they could accomodate. They were available for us and helped us with everything. It was just too good for the weekend. Misty mountains in the background, good weather, near-to-walk washrooms and shower rooms. It was very good.

Only one thing that could be better, the grass on the pitches was very long.

Contactless check in to inform us of our pitch number before we arrived. Booked a hardstanding pitch. Pitch was relatively level with half hard standing and half grass in their 'Lake View' field. We went over August bank holiday so expected it to be busy, but at no point did the site feel over full. Site is in an excellent location around 20 mins from Barmouth and near a lovely village called Dolgellau. Facilities were very basic and kept relatively clean, given it was a rainy weekend that generated a lot of mud on the site. The site allows fire pits in the evening, so there was a very strong, smoky smell in the air at night which we didn't really enjoy. Overall, it is very rough around the edges site but an excellent base for exploring the Snowdonia area. In terms of value for money, we had paid the same price for another site which we stayed at the weekend before that I felt had better facilities and more in the way of site amenities, such as a shop and park for children.

Overall we really enjoyed our weekend here - it was a perfect base camp and location for us as it was close to Cadair Idris. The check-in process was incredibly easy - all the information was sent to you earlier in the day and you just had to find your pitch number and set up. The pitch was a good size and for us, was a good location on the site, being relatively close to the facilities. There was a really nice vibe to the campsite and it was very family friendly.

Great site with great facilities. Cleaning toilets, showers and facilities is very frequent. I like the fact they have a few separate showers and toilets so when the main block is being cleared, there are still some available. Also the fridge and freezer are very handy and there was a good "mark up your items" system with stickers. I didn't use the washing machine facilities but the dishwashing area is perfect and clean. Another added bonus is the closeness to the Mach Loop so you get the odd fighter jet and chinook flying over (only in the daytime and only a few a day, weekdays only). Really near the Torrent Walk too.

We fancied just a cheap and cheerful overnight stay in our campervan. This site was brilliant. Excellent sized pitch and facilities were clean. They offered a self check-in which was just parking at your pitch no faffing at reception all details were sent before. There were fridge and freezers, washing machines, vending machine, everything you needed for camping and caravanning. We will definitely stay there again.

The location of Torrent Walk Campsite is excellent. We love the walk up to the Waterfall and so do our dogs. The site sits in a bowl from which the views are spectacular. The site does get busy as its location attracts many who are involved in the outdoor activities of a rugged area. This means the facilities are rather stretched in the early morning and cleaning takes place from 10am, giving a narrow band of time. Sometimes the showers are left in a bit of a mess after the rush, and I did get fed up with cleaning the shower unit before use. However, the cleaning equipment is excellent. We love the horses wandering around, and generally this is a very easy going site for families, couples and outdoor activities, also for my dogs.
