The only one thing I can complain about is we felt there was a damp smell in the kids playroom.
Excellent site for all

Good location, lovely walk up to the nine ladies. Site is quite steep in places. Had a great weekend, didn't realise it was families weekend when we booked it and there were 4 adults in our party. Still had a great time, loads to do. Excellent bar on site, lovely staff with a wide variety of drinks at a reasonable price. Live band on Saturday evening, which were good. Site staff very friendly and helpful. Site kept clean and tidy, by staff rather than other campers. Plenty of toilets and showers. Good site shop, again good prices, stocks most things. Only downside was other campers not respecting others and camp rules. Dogs running round off their leads disturbing other dogs, people shouting at their dogs at 7am, wouldn't be necessary if they were on a lead.

This is was the third visit for a few days of remote camping with our friends and it never disappoints. Clean facilities & lovely staff (who help you out when your car battery dies!) The family fun day was lovely and the band in the evening was amazing. 2 pubs in walking distance and some lovely scenic walks to stretch your legs. We'll be back again for sure!

Beautiful, family friendly campsite with great facilities. I saw the toilets and showers being cleaned to a very high standard. Easy and quick check-in, lovely shop, great facilities for kids and a beautiful and tranquil location. Can't wait to return.

We took our grandchild away for a weekend break and the campsite more than lived up to what we needed. Loads of safe space to run and play, a handy shop for those forgotten essentials, animals to entertain us and clean, well stocked bathroom facilities. Would definitely stay here again

Just had a lovely 2 night stay at Barn Farm. The location was great for both Matlock and Bakewell. The site was very well maintained and the facilities were exceptionally clean. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely clean, orderly site with excellent facilities. We had only 3 mid-week nights and wished we'd been able to stay longer. It seemed quiet and other visitors were respectful and friendly. We used the showers as we were in a campervan and they were spacious and clean. We didn't get to use the other facilities, shop, children's area, games room. Walks in all directions, beautiful views, peacocks and alpacas and dog friendly and the site was very well laid out and immaculate. Nice pubs in the village in walking distance.

Honestly, such a lovely campsite. Facilities & cleanliness are high on my list of priorities when camping & I think these are the best I've seen. Lots for the kids to do too. We had plans to hike & visit local attractions but didn't end up doing any of it until we were leaving as we all enjoyed our time on site so much. Kids well entertained - hence happy chilled parents.
We will be back!

Lovely quiet spot with great views, plenty of walks on the doorstep including the intriguing and fun Rowtor Rocks out the back of the Druid Inn in the village. Spacious pitches in the campervan/caravan areas and amenities close by. Adult only shower block is a great idea and the play area/games room makes it up to the younger guests. Can't write a review and not mention the peacocks peacocking everywhere!

We had a lovely stay at the campsite. The facilities were very clean and was a welcoming environment. Loads to do for our kids to keep them entertained. Only thing I'd say it is set up too close to the park, as there's a peacock that roosts in the tree and calls throughout the night, which woke us up a few times.

A really great campsite for all. We stayed in Field 1 which was peaceful. Field 4 was slightly louder, but also seemed to have a lot of family groups. The park was great, but the added bonus was the separate area with the trampoline, badminton and a few other outdoor games. The facilities were great, including good working showers.

Barn Farm is a lovely looking site with lots of space for camping and touring. The upkeep of the actual site is nice and tidy and about a 10 minute walk to the nearest pub 'The Red Lion' and 'The Druid Inn' a bit further down. If you want to eat in either of those pubs, make sure you book in advance as we couldn't get anything to eat and the site shop shut at 5pm on Saturday. We managed to knock something up from the food we took with us. Our only negative really was we felt the toilets and showers were pretty poor when it comes to cleanliness. I don't know whether they were cleaned once while we were there? This was our first trip out in the van around the peaks so we'll probably try other sites and won't be back for a while, if at all. Shame about the toilets and showers as the rest of the site is nice!

Had a great weekend at Barn Farm, Birchover with the three generations of the Luke family. Our annual trip which coincided with Father's day so plenty of fun. Facilities were wonderful, but my wife did find the supply of loo paper in the Ladies toilets was sparse/none. However plenty of hot water and very clean facilities. See you next year or sooner.

A beautifully kept site. Tranquil with good facilities which are exceptionally clean. Good local pubs in the beautiful village of Birchover. Local walks are interesting and full of wildlife. There are separate areas for caravan pitches and tents. Huge fields accommodate the brilliant DofE award students' camping expeditions, who are always fun and helpful.
Lovely spot but sleep disturbed by peacocks!

A lovely campsite with good play facilities for children. Limited options locally for buying food/drink - unfortunately the pizza vans/bars etc advertised weren't there for our visit (a weekend near midsummer). Our main issue was the peacocks. They were beautiful but there were around 6 of them and they made a really loud racket from 3.30am each morning, which made it impossible to sleep after this point. Sadly it would put us off a repeat visit. All fields also quite hilly so sleeping trickier without sliding down the tent each night. Beautiful location though and clean, well maintained facilities.
Excellent site, a hidden gem

Absolutely superb site. Went midweek so was plenty of room and the facilities were quiet, I've never been on a weekend, however lots of1st class amenities blocks. They really have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable in whatever unit you've got. Would highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.
