VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2024

Had a great couple of days at this lovely little campsite just outside of Blakeney. We had a grass pitch with electric hook-up. Nice and quiet with a few other visitors staying. The only criticism would be in the shower/toilet block. There is one toilet and shower for men, the same for women and then a disabled toilet and shower room. Wasn't too much of an issue the weekend we were there as isn't wasn't busy. However, when the site is busy you may have to wait to use the facilities. Other than that, it was perfect for us to be able to take the short walk into Blakeney without moving our van and explore the surrounding areas on foot.

Site's response

I'm glad you enjoyed exploring Blakeney Andrew. Thank you for your review.

FAQ

Check-in is from 1pm-9pm and you must vacate your pitch or pod by 11:30am on departure day.

During the hot, dry weather, BBQs are not permitted. Normally, BBQs are welcome, provided they are kept raised off the ground so as not to damage the grass - bricks are supplied onsite. Campfires are not permitted.

The site is set just a mile from Norfolk's glorious coastline, and a mere five minute drive takes you to Morston where you can catch a boat to see the seals at Blakeney Point, or explore the stunning scenery along the coastal path - crabbing at Blakeney Quay is popular with families too. Nestling between Blakeney Point and Holkham Beach, you'll find Wells-next-the-Sea (8.3 miles) with outstanding views towards the North Norfolk Coast and its own picturesque harbour. The seaside town of Sheringham (10 miles) is a short drive from the site, with white sands stretching across its award-winning and family friendly beach, while the beach at Holkham (11 miles) is backed by sand dunes and part of one of the biggest nature reserves in the country.

Yes, a porch awning, small gazebo and pup tent can be brought free of charge. A pup tent may also be pitched next to the pod free of charge.

Sorry, no pets are permitted on site.

Why not walk along the coastal path, taking in the scenery and birds/wildlife en route? The rugged Norfolk coast is best enjoyed on foot. A boat trip to see the seals at Blakeney Point is also recommended. Or you can go crabbing at Blakeney Quay, which is a lovely bonding activity for families.

Most weekends there is live music at The Harbour Rooms in Blakeney for a bit of fun nightlife too. In Blakeney village there is a large playing field with a zip wire and tennis courts.

The seaside towns of Wells-Next-The-Sea and Sheringham are a short drive away or take the Coast Hopper bus.

The nearby town of Holt offers a country park and some incredible stately homes such as Sheringham Park and Mannington Hall. Close, too, is the unusual Shell Museum in Glandford, which contains a selection of sea shells in its exhibition.
