We had a great 3 night stay. Views are amazing and the walks are so close. The site was extremely friendly and with 4 children, we found it really safe. The only downside was the large group around us allowing their dog to roam free, meaning we had dog mess by our tents which we had to clean. This didn't ruin the weekend though and the 15 of us had a fab time. The local pubs are both very friendly and the carvery at the Red Lion is beautiful.
Barn Farm was very relaxing

Fantastic. Very clean. Great site with two fab pubs in the village. Play areas and indoor games room. Good showers, although I think the water temperature needs turning down, it's way too hot in the ones opposite the reception.

Second time we have stayed. Great site for kids. Had a issue with dogs off leads running around the field, which the kids didn't appreciate. Showers and toilets are clean. Will be back next year definitely. Thanks.

This campsite was very well kept and equipped. We had children with us and pitched next to the playground. The field wasn't overcrowded despite it being mid August. There was some welcome shade from the trees. The facilities were excellent - everything you could need including fridge, freezer, and outdoor games for kids. There was a shop, bar, cafe, and wood fired pizzas open at the weekend. There are many beautiful walks from the campsite. We will definitely be returning.
Will be back

A fab site. Got lots to do around it, but the site itself is really welcoming, friendly and got a great atmosphere around it. Little touches like garden games, the indoor games room, pop up bar, coffee shop, butty van, pizza truck- it felt like the staff had really thought through how they can help their guests have a fab time. We will be back!

We had a great time, this was our first camping trip and couldn't believe we had never done this before. There are plenty of shower blocks, toilets and washing up areas, which were all very clean. It has a handy shop onsite, which sells all kind of useful things. We enjoyed the pizza and a drink at the bar that is there certain times of the year. The only dislike I have is the field was very hilly which made sleeping arrangements a little more uneasy and tables hard to sit at on a slope. Other than that it was great, and we will definitely be returning!

Perfect location, very clean and lovely staff. First time we have been camping as a family and we absolutely loved it. Perfect location between Matlock and Bakewell and many other lovely places to visit. Massive bonus was that we had a cocktail bar and wood fired pizza van there on the weekend, so that was wonderful. Lovely, clean site and the staff were all massively helpful and very friendly. The camp shop - I was very surprised by the low prices - I expected to get ripped off, but completely the opposite. Will 100% be going back here very soon.

Absolutely lovely weekend away! The overflow field (field 2) was fantastic! We had the shade in the evening and a wonderful view! The pizza van and pancake van were a very welcomed surprise for both our children! Smooth check in process too. Definitely recommend the Druid's Inn for a drink and a walk up the pathways behind into the caves and you will find a perfect, idyllic spot to watch the sunset! I am sure we as a family will be back in the future.

Lovely campsite with great amenities. Realised we had brought the wrong camping gas for our Trangia on the first morning but had options of waffles, pancakes, cooked breakfast baps and fresh coffee from food vans on site. Great atmosphere and generally friendly and helpful staff on site, although the peacocks could get a little loud!

Never disappointed when we stay at Barn Farm. Excellent location for walks but also a short drive to Bakewell for any extra supplies that you cannot get at the campsite shop. Love the extra facilities of the pizza van, bar etc. Fields in great condition considering the recent dry weather. Just an idea, but with the ever increasing demand of smartphones/Apple watches, would it pay to have lockable charging stations for a small fee? We for one would pay as we use Strava and the OS app so it's essential we have full charge. Power banks are great but after one full charge they are spent.

What a wonderful site! We enjoyed every moment of our stay, playing in the fields, enjoying freshly baked pizza by the play area, as well as local walks and star-gazing at night. The service is first-rate and unobtrusive, and the facilities are kept in excellent condition. Thanks for making our time so enjoyable!

We have stayed here several times before, mainly in the large field, once in the small field (past reception and the shower blocks etc), and this time in the first field on the left. In my opinion this is the worst field as it is on quite an incline unless you are one of the lucky ones who gets there first, and unfortunately for us, as a couple in their 50s, we managed to pitch up on the side where the kids play area is. We don't mind the sound of kids playing but their parents shouting to them was a bit wearing. The amenities at Barn Farm are excellent. There is a toilet block near the field we were in, further toilet block and showers, adult only shower rooms which are lovely, and also a games room, shop, and plenty of areas for pot washing. Everything is very well kept and clean. There are 2 lovely pubs within walking distance and also plenty of walks nearby. This time we walked to Rowsley then on to Bakewell (approx 9 miles). We are hoping to stay again very soon.
