Great site with good walks and a couple of pubs close by. Only shame was that the shop wasn't open on the Saturday, which we found unusual. Toilets nice and clean.

A truly wonderful, well equipped site. Always well maintained by the team. Gorgeous location, lots to do locally, nice local pubs, beautiful walks on the Moor, lots of places to visit. Love the peacocks! We keep coming back so we must love it.

First time at this site and would definitely recommend. Set in a beautiful location. Short walk from the lovely village of Birchover. Excellent facilities and suitable for all ages. Ideal base for Matlock, Bakewell and many other beautiful Peak District villages and amazing walks and places of interest from the site and in the surrounding Peak District.

A great site in a wonderful location. Only real negatives were that there didn't appear to be any drive over grey water drop for motorhomes, the shop was only open Monday to Friday and the toilet block was a bit of a walk from our pitch. Other than that, would visit again.

Excellent site, well located for the Peak District, Haddonn Hall, Chatsworth House and Bakewell. There are numerous walks from the site the most notable are Stanton Moor and the nine ladies. Two pubs within walking distance that serve excellent food - Red Lion and Druid. We would recommend Barn Farm although we would imagine it to be a very busy site in the summer.

Beautiful location far reaching views of the countryside. Facilities were good with a choice of 3 different shower areas. On site shop, which opened up for us on Sunday as we ran out of gas. Very good information leaflet on arrival. Can't fault them at all.

Beautiful campsite in a beautiful location. This is our new local favourite campsite. The views are stunning and there are lots of walks directly from the site. In the village there are two pubs, but only had opportunity to try The Druid Inn, which I can fully recommend.

Site ok once arrived. Access through the village was very restricted, with narrow roads and many parked cars. Views from the site are very good, plenty of walks are available without needing to drive from the site. Facilities on site are kept clean and functional and plenty of them.

Playground was well used by our kids. Great central point for walking. Peacocks were graceful to watch. Will be visiting again in better weather.

Nice quiet site. Friendly and helpful. Directions to the site were very helpful. Only issue was that the pitches are not flat, so had problems levelling. I wish I had read the information sheet first as they provide bricks to help with this. Also, if you're thinking of eating in the local pub, you need to book beforehand.

Good campsite but felt that the security guard was rude

A fantastic site within a very quaint village. 2 exceptional pubs within walking distance and plenty of walks, places and activities within a fairly short distance to drive. The only sticking point was the security guard. After telling us that our laptop was too loud, he was extremely rude and scared both my fiancé and our dogs Other than that I would highly recommend this site!

Conveniently located for most of Derbyshire's attractions. The village has two seemingly good pubs and they are within a 15-20 minutes walking distance. I say 'seemingly', as we only visited one on this occasion. The motorhome field only has a couple of spots left and had a bit of a slope, so we chose a flatter pitch which was close to a camping field, and also closer to the toilets and showers. This field was quiet on the Wednesday and Thursday (during school term time), but got a lot busier and noisier on the Friday. The showers were perhaps the best of any campsite we have been to. Large, private bathrooms with a sink and enough space for a parent and young child to be very comfortable, with a "proper" shower cubicle and controllable shower like you might find at home, so no pressing a button every 10 seconds!
Brilliant, just brilliant

We booked for 4 nights, wish we could have stayed longer but unfortunately we have to be back at work. Facilities were top notch, staff friendly and helpful and it was quiet from 10pm to 7am. The plots open to trailer tents and caravans is great, we just wish there had been a toilet and shower block closer (maybe near the waste water building) but it didn't spoil our stay.
Beautiful location and very well run site

Well, it was the first time we have stayed at Barn Farm and have to say, what a lovely place. Nice showers, very clean, beautiful countryside, lots of walks. We will be going back very soon. 10 out of 10. If you have never been, then I would say go. You will not be disappointed, lots to see and do.

I would recommend this site without hesitation, and will certainly stay here again. A lovely location, well-appointed and clean facilities, friendly and well-maintained. Toilets and showers are plentiful and of a better standard than at most sites. I was staying as part of a group, and no-one had a bad word to say about the place. I stayed an extra 2 nights. There are 2 good pubs within easy walking distance.
