About Mill Hill Farm Caravan and Camping Park

Whether you enjoy the sound of birdsong, the feel of the sun and warm breezes or simply doing nothing at all, Anne and David welcome you to their caravan site - winners of Archant's best caravan and camping experience in Norfolk/Suffolk 2019. Enjoy the stunning sunsets from the hill and take in sweeping views over the open farmland from one of 50 spacious touring pitches suitable for your caravan or motorhome. The site's quiet policies allow for a peaceful break where you can see and hear wildlife close at hand. The spacious pitches are located in hedge lined bays and include optional electric hook-ups and easy access to fresh water taps. An awning/gazebo is welcome at no additional charge provided it is kept within your allotted pitch. Hardstanding pitches are available too. The site and facilities have been designed with accessibility in mind. Summer store and stay available. Dogs also welcome.

Open from 1 April to 31 October

We are a quiet site where visitors come to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.

For your peace and safety we observe the following rules:

No noise between 9pm and 9am please.

No radios to be heard.

For safety reasons children under the age of 12 years must be supervised everywhere on the campsite at all times by a responsible adult. There is deep water in the fishing areas.

Keep dogs on leads in the campsite and around the lakes and always pick up after your dog.

To avoid disturbing other guests please do not play ball games etc on the pitches and approaches and around other visitors vans. Please make use of the playing field.

A £10 refundable cash deposit is required for a keycard for the access barriers for the use of the pitch holder only.

Only 2 pitches can be booked together.

BBQs are permitted but must be raised off the ground.

There are also separate rules governing fishing.

See our website for full terms and conditions before making a booking.

There are two fishing lakes onsite which have been stocked with Carp, Bream, Roach and Rud. Carp up to 30lb have been caught. Day fishing is by ticket, which can be bought at reception and night fishing is also available but must be pre-booked.

Being on the doorstep of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB, there's plenty of stunning scenery to explore nearby on foot or by bicycle - including NCN routes and off road cycling across the heath and forestry.

There are footpaths and permissive paths accessible straight from the onsite dog walks. From here, you can walk out onto a network of quiet lanes, footpaths and bridleways. A short walk will take you to the Fox Inn at Darsham and Westleton with a shop, garage, cafe and pubs is two minutes by car.

Bird and nature watching is easy, from Barn Owl to Bee Orchid, Turtle Dove to Woundwort you do not even need to leave the site to see and hear wild birds and animals and see wildflowers. The site is adjacent to Suffolk Wildlife Trust Darsham Marshes Nature Reserve, so leave your car behind and walk out to this haven for wildlife.

The popular RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve and Dunwich Heath with its beach, Coastguards Cottage tearoom and unique sandlings heathland is home to an array of wildlife and are both approximately three miles away. You may even spot an otter!

Or perhaps laze by the sea at Southwold and eat fish and chips from Mark's Fish and Chip Shop, or visit Aldeburgh. These seaside towns are both just 15 minutes from the site.

History lovers should pay a visit to Framlingham Castle, once the refuge of Mary Tudor.

Why not take a gardens and golf break. There are many gardens and small garden centres close by, for example Henstead Exotic Gardens and Helmingham Hall, and there are golf courses at Halesworth (5 miles) and Southwold.

Other local attractions include:

  • Southwold Pier
  • Sunrise Coast
  • Woodbridge Tide Mill
  • Thorpeness
  • Snape Maltings
  • Easton Farm
  • Africa Alive
  • Leiston Longshop Museum
