The site was easy to find and self check in was simple, pitch size was more than ample and a nice touch was outside seating. Shower blocks and washing up area all adequate. Sadly Ben's bar was closed for our stay and the site shop was poorly stocked. After reading other reviews, I would agree that if you are looking for a totally peaceful stay, this is not the site for you as traffic noise from a149 is apparent and difficult to ignore. Easy walking distance to Sandringham with other walks close by .
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We are glad that you found the pitch sizes were of a nice size and that you liked the seating outside. We only stock what we think is what necessary in the shop as the Co op is only a 10 minute walk from the site. Unfortunately, as described, we are by the A149 bypass, although this does not bother many of our visitors, we do understand that it will affect some. We would like to thank you however for taking the time to leave us a review. Many thanks, Pinecones Team.

The location was, we feel, too close to the road, which wouldn't be an issue but the road was very busy. Everything else was really good. The owners were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable, as well as being bulldog owners like myself. A really needed break, and Shelby (my bulldog) had the best time, with the walks easily followed.

Nice showers, piping hot radiator and under floor heating, as well as radio music too! Very friendly staff. However, road noise and on site construction meant it felt under development and less restful than it could have been. Understandably, they've planned this for winter months though. Random illuminated fountains here and there were a bit odd! Slow food service in the bar. But overall, a fine stay.

Great location for walking to Sandringham estate. Map provided was very helpful, there was a lovely little bar onsite, and it was dog friendly. The food was good for when we arrived late to the site. Met the owners and who were very friendly. The dog washing facilities are useful. The bathroom facilities were very warm, clean and there was music playing. We will be returning.

Easy site to get to, and there was plenty of room to park a large caravan on the flat pitches. It was nice to have individual washrooms with toilet shower and sink. The only criticism is the sink is lower for the disabled, but it was a back ache for my 6ft height. Good wi-fi and phone signal (very hard to get around the Norfolk coast).Very friendly and helpful staff. We will be back.

Just off the main road is this lovely site, with the best facilities I've experienced. A very friendly reception. Superb private shower rooms. Fully serviced weather pitches, with decent space between the pitches. Thank you.

It was our first trip with a caravan and I have to say, it was a pleasant one. The staff were very helpful and even offered to help with our first set up. The toilet/shower cubicles were very clean and warn, we didn't use the bar but it looked inviting. Nice walk to Sandringham (the site provided maps of local walks) and would definitely stay again.

Pinecones is a nice site close to Sandringham and the local beaches. We had a great few days, the weather was lovely. Our welcome on arrival was excellent, with great explanations regarding facilities, local walks. The amenities are good, although there was a drain smell in a couple of the toilet/shower rooms. Also, at peak times when the site was busy, I felt that there isn't really enough of those facilities for the number of full pitches. We really liked the site but it is close to a road. We knew this when we booked, but not knowing the area, we didn't realise just how busy the road is. We also felt that the pitches are quite close together our pitch (41) backed on to another pitch with just a small (broken) fence between us. Also, the pitches either side felt quite close compared to some sites we have visited. The picnic bench is a nice touch and came in handy. I can't comment on the bar or the takeaway as we didn't use them, although the bar and seating area looked very nice.

On the positive, it's cheap and cheerful, and close to lots of lovely beaches and places to visit. Nice to have individual showers. Could hear owls at night which was magical.. On the negative, site area near pods felt a bit tired and cramped. One picnic table between 3 pods isn't practical when they each have families staying in them. The fridge area had a strong odour of soured milk even after requesting a second clean by the staff. Good if you're on a budget and not planning on spending time at base beyond sleeping.

Thank you for your review. we do hope that you enjoyed your stay with us, regarding the comments you have added, the following will be happening which will hopefully resolve the problems that you have pointed out to us. We do appreciate any comments that are given to us. We have ordered another picnic bench to go outside the pods and when the pods are empty and the fridges are not in use we will be putting some new lino down, Thanks Pinecones Team

Just returned from a 4 night break. Reception very welcoming on arrival and lots of information shared and leaflets regarding the local areas, places on interest and dog walks. Facilities were clean and tidy and it was great to have access to a personal bathroom rather than shared facilities. The only downside was standing in water at times as the showers flooded the toilet and basin areas due to the wet room style. Just meant sometimes you left a free cubicle empty hoping a drier one would become vacant next. Issue with tree sap falling onto my van and attracting wasps but quickly resolved by changing pitches. Help with moving awning was great as tricky traveling solo with a dog at times. There is some road noise which you do get used to. It's the balance between being central location and quick access to local area. Hope to return in the future.

Great campsite overall with very good shower/toilet facilities. A lovely little bar and very dog friendly, with an enclosed off lead area with a public footpath for dog walks. However, not disabled friendly! 🙁 The pathway/road on site is not suitable for a travel mobility scooter and is very uneven under foot, so I was very restricted moving around the site using crutches. Also, trying to cross the A149, Dersingham Bypass, to the public footpath which leads to Dersingham, where the pubs and other amenities are situated, was like playing a game of "chicken" especially when your mobility is limited. A very fast and busy road! As the bins were located at opposite end of the site to where my motorhome was pitched, it made it difficult for me to walk such a distance on crutches carrying waste bags. Maybe other waste bins could be placed around the site. Having said all that, we enjoyed our stay but wouldn't go back due to the mobility issues.

Campsite was nice but the showers were awful. They looked nice, but the water wouldn't stay a constant temperature. It went from freezing cold to boiling to cold again. Made it nearly impossible to get a proper shower. This was every time I went for a shower over a 3 day period.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We are always very happy to have problems reported to the reception so we can resolve any issues immediately. However, having found out about the problem via the review left, I can confirm that we have checked the showers and found a defective valve that has been replaced and the problem is solved.
Good but not amazing!

A pretty decent campsite all round but didn't have that family personal feel. We have been to campsites where the owners come round and chat, this felt a little more about money than experience. More like a caravan resort so depends what you're looking for! I chatted to some people in caravans who had rebooked and loved it. Camping field very very crammed with tents, so space was very limited. Grass was all dry, very sandy with a lot of stones and pot holes so not ideal for tents. No ball games allowed around tents (not that there was space!) so not amazing for little ones who like to bike around/fly kites etc. No fires allowed. Toilets clean and everyone friendly just lacked the feel of a family run campsite. Pretty noisy at night with tents being so close to each other. Not a bad stay but personally wouldn't return.

A lovely site with good sized pitches. The staff were all friendly, and the on-site bar was a great place to spend an evening. Even though we were parked very close to the play area, once it was dusk all children left, and the whole site was nice and quiet. Shower rooms were always clean, and the piped music was a bonus! Very dog friendly. Would certainly visit again. Thank you for a lovely break 😀
