About Oakmere Caravan Park and Fishery
This is a spacious and leafy site, where pitches are both flat and well drained. It's a campsite popular with fishermen/women but also an excellent spot for birdwatchers, photographers, dog walkers and those wishing to rest in a peaceful spot close enough to the historic city of York. It's also a wonderful, safe environment for dog lovers to enjoy walking on arable farmland. Plenty of space out in the countryside for those wishing to watch and snap photos of the diverse and extensive wildlife found on Skipwith Common, a nature reserve. There is an excellent family and dog friendly pub, The Drovers Arms, just a short stroll from the site serving a variety of food and drinks and even offering takeaway service at a weekend.
