We visited for a 2 nights, great location to explore Brecon for fishing or hiking. Small, well equipped campsite. Hot water, clean trough and very friendly staff. Don't forget alcoholic beverages as they don't have a licence to sell on side. Over all a great site and much cheaper than others.

This was the first time we stayed and we'll definitely come back. There was a super shop on site where you could even borrow maps for a small deposit, as well as having a fresh bread delivery on a Saturday morning - the cinnamon buns were delicious! Also the hosts were really helpful.

Cwmdu is a fantastic little campsite in the Black Mountains of South Wales. Our pitch was a lovely large size and close to the amenities, and little shop selling local goodies and basic camping supplies. The toilets and showers were spotless and cleaned daily. The wardens were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble, and we were lent an EHU extension for our stay, as our lead wasn't long enough. We didn't have to ask, a lead was just offered to us. There are lovely walks and the views are second to none. There are quaint tea rooms 5 minutes walk from the site, and a dog friendly pub 15 mins walk away. There is a large field for ball games or dog exercise. We 100% recommend this site and we will be returning next year.

Stayed here twice this season so far, and both times were brilliant. Facilities are clean and of a good standard. The pitches themselves are of a good size, well rotated and of a good quality for pitching. Lots of places to walk to leading right from the campsite. The staff are the friendliest and nicest people and were very helpful. Unfortunately, we had to leave after our first night (our son fell ill) so we will definitely be returning to fully take advantage of all the lovely walks around.

We stayed for 5 nights, the campsite was spotlessly clean. Showers were lovely and hot and the staff were always friendly and very helpful. The Farmers Arms and cafe had lovely food, we would definitely come again! Love the area, absolutely stunning.

Lovely campsite with clean toilets and showers. Staff helpful and welcoming. Lovely views!! Only down side was being woken up at 7am by the road noise - it's a popular area for motorbikes and they aren't quiet. Not the campsite's fault but maybe just bring earplugs! Also, the pub was fully booked for dinner and nothing else nearby. Our fault for not booking so just make sure you ring in advance for food.

Lovely site, set in beautiful area. Everything close by. Staff were very helpful. A couple of things for us, we were placed on a bit of a hill, not good when camping and you slide out of bed/steadying things. Grass was a bit long which means more damp/grass is brought in. Yes we could have asked to move, given other flat areas but a bit difficult when all set up. Also if facilities are open, everything should be, not shutting off two of the toilets/showers. A few self contained areas would be good for privacy too, maybe a development for future. Other than this, fantastic stay.
Site's response
Thanks for taking the time to review your experience. We always appreciate constructive feedback. We're on a mountain with beautiful views but this means some of our pitches are slightly sloped! As you said, we're always happy to move guests to flatter areas if you ask upon arrival! I think you may have visited during the week when we're quiet on site. We have been advised by our licensing inspector to close every other toilet and shower when possible (when not many guests are on site) to ensure distancing in our communal spaces. We're not certain what self contained areas are but we do provide private gents and unisex shower rooms and toilets, a family showering room with baby changing, and a dishwashing area that is external so very well ventilated to avoid the spread of COVID. We hope you enjoyed your stay and that you will be back in future.

A few too many caravans for my preferences but otherwise, it was a fantastic site and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

We arrived after check in time due to the distance we had to travel. We were met by a lovely man who talked us through where everything was and what to do if we needed anything. The campsite was beautiful, location for everything we wanted to do was excellent - hiking, biking and paddle boarding. We have a 18 month old child who was more than welcome. Excellent baby facilities to make shower and changing easy. Immaculate showers and toilets. Everything was spotless, even our pitch which was grass but short and tidy. What a great find. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will be back.

Great position for exploring a large area. Pitch was level although on the side of a steep hill. Staff were friendly and helpful. Surprised that only 2 ladies toilets and shower cubicles were open. Everything very clean and well supplied.

What a great site with excellent staff! If you are looking for somewhere quiet with beautiful views and walks then this is the site for you. There is even a beautiful waterfall just 16 mins drive away. Arrived after an horrendous journey and our car going wrong on arrival. Sarah, Kyle and others helped us get our large caravan in situ and were very helpful and patient and understanding (especially with my grumpy husband). I have been to many campsites and none are run by such lovely staff as this one. Sarah, Kyle and their staff (Ben, Emily, David and his partner) are all such hard working, friendly helpful people. They all take the time to talk to guests giving advice on where to go locally and walks etc. The site is so clean and well maintained with lots of local walks and beautiful views. We couldn't ask for better. The local pub the Farmers Arms served lovely food from friendly staff and within walking distance of the site. We also recommend Richard's Butchers in the local village of Crickhowell who served lovely quality meat. Thank you Sarah, Kyle and gang for making it a great week after us wanting to just go home after a horrible start. We will definitely be returning and have already recommended your site to friends.
