Things to do on site and in the Tenby area
From the park, join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path over to miles of sandy beach and the charming fishing harbour of Tenby. Tenby is dotted with boutiques, cosy pubs and can be a great space for a night on the town.
From the harbour you can access seal safaris, boat trips from Tenby to Caldey Island, and trips to Skoma Island (the ideal way to see Wales' adorable puffins). For history fans, the Tudor Merchant's House should be high on your list too, built in the fifteenth century, and proud to be one of the oldest houses in Tenby.
Families will find a lovely day out at Folly Farm, a short distance away from Whitewell Holiday Park. It's where exotic creatures roam and there's a chance to feed critters. Follow that with Heatherton Activity Centre, a fabulously active day out with indoor bowls, bumper boats, archery, paintballing and fun that kids will love.
Barafundle Bay is one of the best beaches in Wales, so it's your top choice for proper golden sand and fabulous views. Swan Lake Beach and Manorbier Beach are also just around the corner from Whitewell Holiday Park. Also just a short distance away is Oakwood Theme Park which is very popular and includes a spectacular firework display. Carew is two miles away from Whitewell Holiday Park and offers a famous Sunday market, with a giant car boot sale, where plenty of treasures can be found.
Other great sightseeing opportunities around the park include:
- The Green Bridge of Wales
- St Govan's Chapel
- Manor House Park (ideal for children and adults alike with an interest in exotic animals)
- The Dinosaur Park
- Laugharne Castle
- Dylan Thomas' boat house (where he wrote many of his poems)
