Tyn Cornel is a beautiful campsite located just four miles from Bala and Llyn Tegid in Snowdonia, with a stunning riverside location (great for watersports!) and 4 star facilities. The site is ideally situated for adventures in the national park and the rest of North Wales, with a variety of pitches on offer, from back to nature camping with campfires to electric hook-ups on grass or hardstanding. Dogs are welcome too.

Good location for Bala and Betws, nice clean toilet and shower block. Tiny shop with a few basic essentials. Was too close to the road though, so cars and motorbikes whooshing past until late then from early.

Really convenient site for rafting and a nice site layout. We got there at 1pm and were not allowed to set up, even though the space was available. Showers were ok but not keen on shower curtains and water was not that hot, but overall a good site for our trip.
Site's response
Apologies nobody was available to check you in at 1pm, we close for lunch between 1 and 2. Thank you for the feedback on the showers, we will look at this. Glad you had a nice stay otherwise. Thank you!

Nicely located with a lot of space. We did not feel it was crowded although many guests were present at the time.

Superb, would stay again. Even has fresh milkshakes! Very friendly, family-friendly site we loved it. Very clean facilities. Showers had lovely hot water, electric hook-up, worked great, no problems. Short walk from White Water Rafting centre With a cute little café and park a little further across the road for little kids. Bala is not far with its own park, stone circle and cute hidden castle mound. Milkshakes, coffee and pizza are also highlights from the campsite, would stay again.

This camp was lovely - we were just disappointed because advertised was a food van with breakfast barms and pizzas in the evenings, but these weren't available.
Site's response
Thank you for your review and we apologise the advert wasn't amended sooner. We occasionally have pizza available on site - dates for pizza nights are advertised on our social media accounts. Also the National White Water centre has a lovely riverside café only a 5 minute walk from the campsite.

Beautifully situated next to the white water river, close to Bala Lake and within a drive to Snowdonia National Park. The facilities are kept scrupulously clean, the site has an ice cream vending machine and milkshake machine both made locally and hard to resist. The free use of the fire pits is great as they are good cast iron ones, but don't bring logs, you are expected to buy them there which is fair enough, all in all we loved it here and miss it already.

We had a very lovely 5 days. Beautiful campsite with a lovely walk by the river. All our kids are grown up now, but if you take children, there is a bit of a park to play in on the walk. Also, cuts through to the (forgive me, forgotten it's name) rapids/rafting and has a cafe. It was perfect. Spent a day fishing in Bala. Such a relaxing week away. It is close to a road and can be a little noisy but only during day and not at all bothersome when your chilling. Absolutely perfect.

Great stay in a beautiful geodome! Had been wanting to do this for a long time and it didn't disappoint! We had a few issues to begin with, like not enough mugs, the gas canister was empty and hot plate for BBQ was rusted. However, these issues were dealt with quickly and professionally by the lovely staff who run the campsite. Toilet and shower facilities were very clean and even a shop on site incase you have forgotten anything! Lovely log burner that keeps the dome nice and warm on an evening. Great location for stargazing and away from the rest of the campsite, so has privacy also! Trundle bed was incredibly comfy too!

Stay at the park was brilliant. It's a great base for the National Park and surrounding area. Plenty of water sports activities within the surrounding area. Park had all amenities required, well run and quiet after 22:00.
Great stay and good pitch too

We booked here for 3 nights but only stayed 2, that was only due to weather forecast. It's a relaxing site and nice for a short stay. The facilities very limited and could have been cleaner. The shop on site was also extremely limited. As there was nowhere in walking distance, we thought a better stocked shop would be handy. We stayed on the touring part for a higher amp electric point, which was very helpful. However, you can hear the traffic a lot from there. Great location for driving to other towns but just not a site I'd return to .
Great...but for the midges

We were on electric pitch 1 and the only tent among lots of caravans and motorhomes. All the other tents were the other side of the site. For that reason, it was really quiet which we loved. Plus the weather wasn't great so everyone just stayed inside. Great for getting little ones to sleep, but no facilities at all for kids - not that ours need any. Showers nice and strong and toilets were clean. Only glitch was that on day 4 we asked for soap dispenser in men's toilet block that had been empty on day 1 to be filled. It was filled straight away though. However, I'm not sure we'd return because the midges were ferocious. We're covered in bites. The site lies alongside a river which is lovely, but the clouds of midges were no fun at all sadly. Must make sure to pack insect repellent next time!

We stayed as a family with 2 children age 8 and 15. The location was perfect, great scenic routes and loads of places to drive and take in the views. Just a short walk from the campsite along the river you get to a beautiful cafe and the white water rafting centre, the boys absolutely loved this and enjoyed the activities they had. Clean toilets and showers. Honestly can't fault this place. On a Friday and Sunday evening, they have freshly made pizzas, and just outside reception, they have a coffee and ice cream vending machine (card payment). Quiet campsite with loads to do.
Stunning location!

I haven't been camping since I was very small so I was reluctant, but staying here was fantastic. The location is beautiful right by the water and fields and the site staff are incredibly helpful and are always around when you need them. The site has a large choice of areas to pitch in the non-electric field as well as benches, small pergolas and fire pits to be used for free, wood can also be bought on-site. The toilet and shower facilities are basic but clean and well maintained, they also offer a laundry room and washing up space for pots and pans as well as free Wi-Fi. Really couldn't recommend it enough, even if you don't get the sun you're not far from things to do like Snowdonia National Park, Zip World, Bala, White Water Centre and I'm sure much more! Thanks so much!

Right next to a rushing river and a white water centre. However just 3 miles away is more sedate lake with kayaking, paddle-boarding and swimming. Something to suit everyone. Really friendly helpful staff and clean facilities. Just make sure to grab your fire pit quickly as they go the minute they are handed back in!

Idyllic location and great facilities. We arrived late and only stayed one night, but the shower facilities, kitchen and laundry room were all spotless and in great working order. Electrical hookup and hardstanding plot pitch were easily accessible and our host was very friendly. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Outstanding campsite. A little bit away from the town but with a great river walk and restaurant nearby. The facilities were well maintained and very clean.
