Big Barn Camping is a small, quiet, family friendly site in Wales, offering well-spaced camping pitches, eco camping pods and stargazing domes. With local beaches and many attractions, visitors are truly spoiled in the heart of Dylan Thomas' country. Guests will also all have a fire pit and picnic bench at their pitch for enjoying evenings under the stars. Don't forget to meet the many animals onsite too, including alpacas!

About Big Barn Camping
Nestled in the Carmarthenshire countryside, the site's 36-acre smallholding makes a superb getaway that will suit the whole family, with guests choosing to revisit time and time again. The site is also close to beaches, major local attractions such as Folly farm, Oakwood Theme Park and Tenby! A small, family-friendly site surrounded by nature to make guests feel relaxed and enjoy a good night's sleep, ready to explore the fantastic coast and countryside. Welcoming tents, trailer tents, small campervans, rooftop tents, and teardrop caravans, the camping paddock is situated on four acres, with only eleven camping pitches means lots of room for everyone. Each pitch is individually cut, so you have a designated area with plenty of space between any neighbours. At this rural retreat, campfires come as a standard, with a fire pit and picnic bench, both at no hire charge. For those who prefer glamping, the site features the Eco Barn Pods and large luxurious 6m Stargazing Glamping Domes. All units boast comfy beds and a camp kitchen area with a two-ring gas stove, kettle, pots, pans, crockery, and utensils for all your cooking needs. The three Eco Barn Pods sleep up to two guests. Two are fitted with a convertible table (also a double bed), and one with a double bed with a memory foam mattress and space to store your clothes and items. All also have picnic benches and fire pits and offer stunning views of the Carmarthenshire countryside. Shared washing and showering facilities are nearby. Sleeping up to four, the Stargazing Glamping Domes are complete with skylights, plenty of space, a double bed, two convertible single beds, private composting toilets, and the main showers close by. There are two domes to choose from, including the Woodland Dome is located adjacent to woodland, providing a totally private retreat. The Valley Dome, on the other hand, is located in the field next to the camping paddock with far reaching views of the countryside. All of the glamping units also have access to outdoor kitchens with a cooking stove, cool box, freezer packs, crockery, utensils, kettle and more! Private hire of the entire site can also be arranged. Please note, this site is with The Greener Camping Club and at least one of your party must be a member. Membership costs £12 for the year and can be bought upon booking, giving you access to all membership sites.
Big Barn Camping is open from 22/03 to 29/09 in 2024 and from 14/03 to 28/09 in 2025.

Kick your visit off with a wander at Dylan Thomas' beautifully preserved boathouse, set beside a peaceful shoreline. Fully inspired, you can then climb to ancient Laugharne Castle and delve deeper into history.
Zoom around the beauty of Carmarthen Bay, stopping at pretty coves and beaches. A half hour will take you to the glorious seaside town of Tenby, with its own vibrant beach. Or, just a short hop of 15 minutes will take you to Pendine Sands, with all the glorious silky beach you'd expect.
