A lovely quiet spot to camp for a night (or longer if we had the time!), beautiful and quiet in the woods. It had everything you'd need on site, a friendly welcome and a nice footpath off the site for walking the dog.
Well maintained forest setting with swimming pool

Very beautiful trees and good spacing. Lovely heated pool for small kids. Even though we there for bank holiday and the site was fully booked, it was remarkably quiet. If we visited again, we would avoid the woodland setting as the bark floor covering got everywhere and was very dirty. We had a down pour of rain and we felt we were in the dark and dank for 2 days after. The toilet block was well maintained and the owners had rented extra luxury showers for the weekend. Very well stocked shop. The location is in the middle of nowhere with nothing reachable on foot. We walked the dog to the nearest pub but quite a bit was on the road. But, if you're willing to jump in the car, there are some great family days out within an hours' drive.

I really appreciate the thought that has gone into this site. The pitches are a good distance apart and tucked away for privacy. The toilet and showers are good and very clean. The play park is right outside and can occupy a child for a good length of time. Washing up station ideal and recycling point like a filing system. The pool is heated and big enough for a family to have good fun. Lots of water points. Woodland walk is flat and simple, ideal for all ages. I would definitely stay here again, for the quiet and the trees.

We visited for 1 night. We had a lovely woodland pitch, there was also the choice of a meadow and an open field, plus hard standing pitches. It was well laid out and had a good amount of space per pitch. The toilet facilities were good, they were very clean and well looked after. Lucky we brought a mallet as the woodland ground was very firm! The compost toilet was a great idea, but I wasn't brave enough to try it! There were a lot of families there and there was a lovely sound of children playing. The lodges looked good, we might have to come back to try one!

We had a lovely five nights camping. The site has lots of extras such as a small swimming pool (kids loved), camp shop (very useful), food vans and a great playground/table tennis. The toilets and washing areas were all kept very clean. It's also a beautiful campsite.

Lovely little campsite, the staff were lovely and so helpful. The pool was small but we booked the slots easily and we had it to ourselves every day, so the size was perfect! Only 8 minutes from a big Tesco and Lidl, only 25 minutes to the beach! We really enjoyed our stay. Only 1 thing I will say is the showers were boiling and there was no way to change the temperature, so showering children wasn't the easiest task. However, there was a family bathroom with a little bath if you wanted to use it. We would come back definitely!
Good facilities but...

Great campsite location, facilities very nice indeed, BUT kids screaming and shouting at 10.30pm wasn't ideal at all.
Fabulous

I stayed three nights with two boys and my partner. The campsite was situated in a wood under trees, so cool in the first two days we were there and great shelter from the rain on the last. The site was clean, family-orientated and best of all, eco friendly! The pool was great fun but remember to book! The staff were hospitable and very welcoming.

We had a lovely week staying here as a Base for fossil hunting along the Dorset coast. Great location with beaches close by and shops close by too. Nice addition was the outdoor pool which was very inviting after a hot day fossil hunting. Shower, toilet and washing facilities were great. Hit and miss with the hot water, depending on when you used the showers but overall, very good. Loved how eco conscious the owners are with very good recycling facilities for rubbish. Owners were really really nice and great to talk to and always helpful. My son took a liking to Tiggs the cat too, who was very friendly and got him through missing his own cat at home. The park is also great for keeping the kids entertained while you make food or wash up, or just when you're spending a day relaxing on the site. There was a wrap truck there for food when we arrived which was very welcome when I didn't want to cook after setting up camp late in the day. And my, the lamb burrito wrap with halloumi was the nicest wrap I've ever eaten. A nice addition for the owners to allow a food truck on the site. All is quiet here after half 10, which is nice, especially when you can relax outside with the fire pit and no noisy guests ruining your peace. We cannot wait to come back here and the first thing my son said when we left was that we have got to go back there.
Wonderful site with a wild feeling

My favourite campsite so far. We were located in a woodland pitch which had a lovely wild feel and plenty of space. Option to hire firepits was great as was the picnic bench on our pitch. Owners were helpful and informative on arrival. Facilities were spotless. Only criticism was the swimming pool was a tad cold.

The only reason I didn't give top rating is due to lazy guests who didn't leave the wash up area clean! 🤢🤮 Nothing to do with the site or management itself as they can't police every area all of the time! But, perhaps a sign saying please 'remove debris and wash the area down', 'leave the sinks clean and sanitised' or 'leave this area how you would like to find it' or such, might hammer the message home? Everywhere else was just lovely. Great little pool, super play area, facilities are excellent, location is easy to find and good access (top tip, Crewkerne is a better and easier nearby town than Chard) pitch size good and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Also, felt secure with the well gated entrance. We will use this site again!

Lovely site. Showers and toilets of camping area were spotless, modern and well maintained. Tent pitches were a great size. Plenty of space for tent and awning, leaving plenty of space to sit out and for the kids to play as well. All staff we came across were lovely. Would happily go back though. We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone.

Excellent stay here; very nice, sheltered, quiet site. Staff very friendly and helpful. The pool and playground are only small but good fun for young children. The main toilet/shower block are on the small side but clean and functional.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings, really peaceful with a lovely atmosphere. Was a great addition to have the park and the pool. Would definitely recommend. Location was quite remote (which we loved). The nearest pub is 1.5 miles away, but this didn't bother us as we were happy to spend the whole time of our stay on site. Sometimes the showers were cold. Mine personally was fine, but my husband said the men's were cold. We had a wonderful time, and we would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The campsite is beautiful and the facilities were very clean, spacious enough and everything worked like it was supposed to. The swimming pool (which was heated) was a nice extra but we didn't use it. The camp site is nice and calm. You hear children playing and birds chirping and that's about it. The tent pitches were big, had some shade and sunshine and there were plenty of picnic benches you could use. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Maybe very large family groups should be situated away from smaller families or single campers, or I should have moved on the second day because of the noise issues. Children, I don't have a problem, but feel that adults should know better. Showers where very cold 🥶, even on the second showering the next day. Trees could do with a hair cut, but they do love the outdoors.
Site's response
We only allow groups in the low and mid season when we are generally less busy, this allows us to spread people out more. We were unusually busy when you stayed with us which made this much more difficult. Please accept our apologies for the showers, the issue was stubbornly difficult to diagnose but has now been resolved.

Nice secluded park with huge pitches. Bathroom facilities were fine and kept clean but unable to shower on 2 occasions due to no hot water. Recycling is important to this site which we liked. Swimming pool booked sessions only which are 45mins long. Didn't book ourselves but worth knowing in advance. Only 10amp hook-up, so can't run too many appliances but you work around it.
