Situated within the stunning Tyne Valley, Greencarts Campsite is a peaceful campsite with picturesque views of the Northumberland countryside. Sitting almost atop Hadrian's Wall, the site is an idyllic base for walkers and cyclists, with a range of grass and hardstanding pitches for both tents and tourers. Pitch up on this working farm within the Northumberland National Park and enjoy a traditional camping holiday just 30 minutes from Newcastle.

Last minute booking due to a previous booking being cancelled. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. The field is very sloped and there is no drainage so following several hours of heavy rain the field became very boggy which in turn led to it becoming very difficult to get off the field with several vehicles needing to be towed off the field by the tractor. Facilities wise, there are only two toilets and showers per gender, which were cold and muddy. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer on site which is £3 per hour, but very helpful when the weather is inclement. The staff were very pleasant but I don't think it is a site we would visit again.

The extreme weather was very unfortunate and in such wet weather, there is very little we can do on a grass field to prevent it getting muddy. This mud then gets dragged into the toilets, we do mop them often but again, they just get muddy again. It was literally thunder and lightening storms, I would have understood and given a refund if anyone wanted to leave.
Great little find

A great campsite, has electric hook up pitches as well as non electric. There were only 3 of us on the field the first night and 2 on the second. There were extremely clean restrooms and I noted them being cleaned very regularly and incredibly thoroughly. Definitely a great site if you're not looking to drive for too long if you're living in Newcastle. Even the 24 hours of rain didn't dampen our experience, loved it!

Great site with amazing views! Really good local walks. We walked to Hadrian's Wall, Black Carts Turret and then further on to the fort. Quick stop at a local pub and then back to the site. Campsite was very quiet with lots of space between pitches. Can easily group people together and this is something I will recommend to friends if we come back as a group in future!

What a great little find. With baby lambs jumping in the next field and Hadrian's Wall is just a stone throw away. How could you not enjoy this idyllic country setting? The site got slowly fuller with everyone making fires and cooking food and drinking beer.
