Set amongst an array of trees and open spaces, Roundhill Campsite is the perfect New Forest getaway with an onsite lake and curious wild donkeys and ponies. Just five minutes to Brockenhurst and 15 to Lyndhurst, this site is well located and a great base for exploring all the New Forest has to offer. The site has 265 non electric grass pitches and two bell tents, with walks in every direction, there is plenty to explore.

We have just spent 4 relaxing nights at Roundhill. The site is up there with the best we have stayed at and is as close to wild camping as you can get on a (very well organised) campsite. We enjoyed everything about the site, including the staff who were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful campsite in the heart of new forest. Feels like wild camping but with the added luxury of toilets and showers

We spent a few days on this campsite and had the most lovely time. The toilets and showers are fabulous, always clean, hot water and had a good flow from the shower too. The campsite allows campers to choose where to pitch and there is plenty room even in the school summer holidays. The kids had fun riding bikes around the park and watching the donkeys, cows and ponies. With regard to the wild life, the donkeys are quite naughty so be prepared to shoo them away if they come too close. Horses, cows, birds and donkeys roam free around the site . Would recommend this campsite if anyone fancies exploring the New Forest, easy reach to the coast etc.

Loos and showers are portacabins and a bit basic. The staff work hard keeping them in good order.
Quiet, peaceful and friendly.

Lovely campsite. Plenty of pitches to choose from and it was quiet and friendly. We found a nice spot under the trees. Good for couples or families. The staff who checked us in were so friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and never a queue even though the site was busy. Lovely to have donkeys, horses and cows roaming around, just don't leave any food in your tent or they will break in! Would recommend!

Lovely site in middle of the New Forest. Donkeys, ponies and cows roaming free around the campsite was the best part for us. Huge site with miles of room for camping. The rangers said they were at capacity when we were there, but plenty of room for everyone. Miles of walking around the site and beyond. Would definitely go back.

What an amazing place. Central location. Clean and tidy. We saw horses, donkeys and cows every day. How lucky we were. Can't wait to visit again.

Our first visit here and we will be back! Beautiful location, everything you want and expect from a stay in New Forest. Staff were super friendly and helpful - great knowledge of the area and were able to guide with walks. Site well maintained and facilities were very clean. We absolutely loved seeing the beautiful ponies roam freely.

We stayed at Roundhill campsite weekend of 19/07/24. Lovely and open site, plenty of space, plenty of areas for camping. The toilets and showers are kept clean and the showers are lovely and hot. Lots of walks, cycleways and wandering horses, you might even see the odd pig with piglets running around. The site team are very helpful and friendly. We will be returning to the Roundhill campsite for an autumn break.

Loved the beautiful location, the pitches were great with plenty of room and privacy. Would just like to have an option to secure bikes, even if at an additional cost. We will definitely be back

Located pretty much smack-bang in the middle of the New Forest, this is the perfect campsite for families, couples, and pretty much anyone else who wants to enjoy the national park! Brockenhurst is only a 30 minute walk away (we went to the Forester's Arms to watch the Euro 2024 final - disappointing result, but that was the only thing that disappointed on this trip!) We'd also highly recommend walking into Lymington - it's slightly further (about an hour and a half), but it's a beautiful town, and the salt water swimming baths are well worth a visit! What's really great about this campsite is that you can walk directly onto trails and walking paths - you don't have to leave via the main exit, there's access to trails on pretty much all sides. The site also delivered big-time on the roaming animals. We had a near-constant stream cows and horses trotting by to graze on the site - there was one misty morning in particular that was simply magical! In terms of the actual facilities on the site - Round Hill does the basics flawlessly. Toilets were spotless and the showers were warm, and we never had to wait for either! Washing up facilities were very welcome and drinking water stations are dotted around the park too. Finally, we really enjoy the 'pitch anywhere' approach - everyone has lots of space and there are lots of trees/bushes to give privacy and wind shelter! All in all, it's a great campsite, and we'd highly recommend it.

This site was busy when we arrived, but we still found a plot to camp on with shade for our dog as there are plenty of trees and bushes around. The ground was bumpy in places. Facilities were good though a bit cramped in the toilets. Showers did not have time limits and water was hot at all times. Toilet paper and hand soap ran out over the busy weekend, so take your own. Loads of horses, donkeys and cows strolled and, at times, galloped through the site. Plenty of birds plus we saw a black rabbit and a stoat near our plot too. The nearby D of E group were noisy early evening. A good site, close to main attractions and plenty of walks straight from camp. We had a great time and would stay again.

Never camped at the New Forest before, but it's so spacious and open. The site is large and you can camp wherever you want, providing you leave distance between neighbours. The toilets and showers are good and cleaned regularly. Perhaps there could be another toilet block for a site this big when busy. The Horses, Donkeys and Cows roam free and can come right up to your tent and inside if you leave it open unattended. We were grateful the staff gave us a heads up on the possibility of this happening, so we never left anything out. We also checked the ground first thing before stepping out to check for smelly deposits. There are good roads to get around the site and for children to cycle easily. There is no Internet and I couldn't get any signal connection, so needed to check websites and connect with others whilst out. There is a facility to charge phones at the check in point. Unfortunately, there isn't a facility to freeze ice packs, so milk doesn't keep for long in hot weather. For a peaceful time away, it was ideal and Lymington (about 15 minutes away by car) was a pretty friendly, practical town with a massive beautiful marina. You can also cross to the Isle of Wight easily from the harbour ferry. There was a friendly British Legion club in Lymington where we were welcomed. We were able to join in the D-Day remembrance services and entertainments. We will certainly go back to the New Forest again.

Our first time staying at this campsite and I cannot find one single fault with it. Lovely big area meaning you're not camped on top of one another. Toilets and showers good and clean. Staff friendly and helpful when checking us in. Location, great. Walks and bikes rides from the campsite (we used as a base to go to the Isle of Wight for the day and the ferry port was only 15 mins away). Kids loved the horses and cow walking around the site! We will definitely return and would recommend.

Amazing staff site and wildlife. Needed time away and couldn't have chosen better. Waking up to ponies, cows and donkeys wandering around the site with birds singing and not bothered by people was so relaxing and calming. Minimal Wi-Fi and phone signal only added to the experience. Unobtrusive facilities were very clean and blended into surroundings.

My son and I had a wonderful stay on a virtually empty site in the few days leading up to the Bank Holiday and half term. We had the option to pitch where we wanted and well away from anyone else. The ladies on reception were super friendly and helpful. The loos were spotless, as were the new showers. Just a great site in a great place and highly recommended.

On a bank holiday weekend after a wet spring, the very large campsite had a few areas too wet to camp. However there were still lots of choice and the only real restriction seems to be keeping a 6m gap between campers. A perfect retreat, regularly visited by cows and horses. A good base for walking and cycling. Those with younger children had loads of space for fun and games. The showers were nice and warm. The toilets very clean and modern. Would stay again.
