This site, is exceptional. Extremely clean, tidy, quiet fab amenities, a lovely play area for children, so safe. Phil and Sharon who own it can't do enough for you. So friendly and welcoming. They have an old Anderson shelter that they have turned into a reception area where you can also purchase drinks snd snacks. But thankfully for us they also do the tastiest freshly cooked breakfasts. Tea and coffee too.. Have a nice few little extras to. Books games. Honestly this site has to be visited. Camper van, caravan, tents. Or book one of the pops or wigwam tents they have . So so lovely. 10/10. Phil and Sharon. Well done đ.

On arrival we was met by the owner who showed us to our pitch we had had a lot of rain and was was quite water logged, didn't stop us though the team at pretty thing were amazing though nothing was too much really warm welcome and a beautiful place. The park was great as it's close to the van so you can see the kids. Great vibe amazing hosts and great venue I would give more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely be back again.
Very nice quiet campsite

We were looking for a low effort easy to stay site and we definitely found the best. Really relaxed atmosphere and with Phil as the host, low stress. He was so helpful, especially when we realised that our gas cannister had run down and we had no idea where to buy a refill, nor the tools to disconnect the gas holder. Definitely to be recommended and we will be returning one day soon!

Lovely place to stay. Owner was very welcoming when we arrived. The site itself had well kept facilities and really clean. And the grounds are very well kept too. Nice and quiet locations and dog friendly. Also has a little park for the children if you take them (we didn't). Would recommend and definitely return again.
Excellent glamping and facilities

We spontaneously booked a pet-friendly bell tent to enjoy the last minute, sunny weekend. Booking was easy, communication with Phil was good and the tent on arrival was spotless. Our nearest toilet was clean and stocked with toilet paper. A lovely night away! Convenient location for Clacton-on-Sea and surrounding areas.

Clean campsite, friendly staff, well kept, and ideal for families with young children. Toilet and shower facilities clean. Only fault was that the mop in the shower room needs to be changed or washed. The shower room could do with a little re-grouting too, but apart that everything is excellent đ

Situated in the right place for us, the weather was spot on. Visited the site where the Hay Wain was painted by Constable, a lovely part of England - we love Essex.

A great place for us for a stopover night. Great facilities, clean, but busy, so didn't stay clean for long! Super friendly campsite hosts.

Great site in an area where there's lots to do nearby. Tent area, glamping site and motorhome/caravan part are well set out and separate.. Kids have play park, and site has a breakfast to mid morning cafe. Owners live on site and are super helpful and friendly. Facilities are spotless, they could just do with more of them to make the rating 5 star. Clean, well run site, quiet peaceful area. Guests observe the 11pm "quiet now please" requirement and sleeping therefore not a problem. We had an almost perfectly flat & level pitch for our caravan & awning, all grass pitches. Good access to electric hook up, fresh water, grey water & waste disposal. We'd come back!

First time glamping, the host was very accommodating when we had forgotten glasses to drink from. He was lovely and friendly. The bell tent was beautiful, as described. The toilets and shower was very clean.

We stayed for 1 night, wished it was more! The showers, toilets and washing up area are spotlessly clean! The pitches are good sized and level. Perfect for children too as there's a little play area.

We absolutely loved our stay. Well-kept site, toilets and showers regularly cleaned throughout the day. Enjoyed having breakfast (additional cost) in an old air raid shelter. Phil the owner is a very nice chap, we can't wait to stay again.

Great place to stay, facilities seemed very clean and the owner was super friendly and helpful. Whilst it's a child friendly site and it was school holidays we stayed there, it did feel a little congested, with lots of noise until quite late, which maybe an area away from peoples tents for people to play ball games could be of benefit. Appreciate that parents could look out for their children more, which is nothing to do with the site itself, but it did get noisy at times. Overall though, we had a great stay and would return.

Really lovely first time glamping, and at The Pretty Thing. It's a great location (although we did drive by it to begin with, as signage is only noticeable one side as you drive up to it). Really cute pod. Very clean and cosy looking. 2 toilets and 2 showers in the glamping area to use (tip is to get up early to use them to avoid them getting too gross from other campers!) Really loved it, definitely will do it again.
